Do all guests staying at POP during the test period get Magic Bands and FP+?

If I book at the last minute and pick up my MBs at check in, do I have to do something to link them to the FP+ that I book prior to the trip? (Right now they are "assigned" to our annual passes).

How does having a FP+ time block affect getting another FP in the park?

Thanks!

Yes, it appears it is everyone.

If you book last minute, the CMs would help you get set up.

Using FP+ and FP are completely independent.

The idea that anybody would pay a for a room, even for 1 night, just to get access to FP+ seems really insane to me. There is nothing about it, from what I have experienced thus far, that would encourage me to pay anything extra for it.

As I mentioned before, there was a HUGE and very heated thread some years back about people who booked camp sites at Ft. Wilderness just to get EMH access, but stayed offsite. Basically the same idea.

Our reservation at Beach Club starts on Friday, but our plane comes in on Thursday so we decided to stay off-site for Thursday night and hit the parks Friday morning. Will we be able to book FP+ reservations for Friday?

You should be able to as long as you have a valid ticket linked..

If I want to book a room for one night to get fast pass+ and magic bands I can. Why would anyone even care. It's my money.

Like I said, I don't really care, especially if you actually stay in the room as an extension of your vacation. But it doesn't seem right to take away the room's availability to others if you're not even going to use it. Aside from that, it just seems to be a waste of money, in my opinion; not that I care if others waste their own money. If you want a Disney wristband, I'm willing to guess that you can find one for purchase in a WDW gift shop.

I'm having a hard time understanding if you have a reservation at a resort or not. As of right now, only those with reservations at a testing resort and have their tickets linked can select FP+. At least that is what it appears to be.

That is correct..

That's a good thought! Keep us posted if u see wishes!

Well, Fantasmic and Illuminations (before it was only parades) have been added now but still no Wishes as of today ;) The page was acting a lil buggy though..weird.

When is your trip?

So sorry about the delay in getting back to you! Work has been keepin me busy! We head out 10/8 - 10/15!! 33 days!

What about the MagicBands? My understanding is that you need to have a confirmed reservation at a participating resort before you could even get an invite to customize your bands. Online check-in is not a factor. Also, if you bought your park passes from a third party such as UT, they don't have to be linked in MDE before you get the invite to customize your MB's. But you need the tickets linked to get access to FP+.

Did I get it all right or am I wrong on something?

Is this in response to my post? :confused3

I already booked a room for this weekend and then found out it was a resort where they are testing. The CM said to be sure to check out MyDisneyExperience online and the app, so I did, and that's when I signed up for FP+ and saw mention of the Magic Bands.

Wouldn't pay extra to do it but if its offered, I'll take it!
Of course it is a testing phase so assuming everything is working:

If you book fp+ at home before you arrive, linked to your reservation, you will be able to use the magic band you receive at check in to use those Fp+ reservations. They do not have time to allow you to customize your MB since you are so close to your arrival date. You can also wait and do your FP+ reservations after you arrive. Your FP+ reservations are linked to your account not necessarily a specific magic band. I hope that helps.

We will be doing a split stay at BLT/ AKL Kidani in November. So if the test continues will I be able to use magic bands at BLT since I will get one for kidani or just at Kidani

I'm pretty sure if Kidani is your first stop on the split then you will be able to use them at BLT ... anyone know otherwise??

Staying at Pop, checking in 10/4 (29 days out). Tickets purchased through Undercover Tourist and linked on MDE. Have been able to customize MBs (arrived today - yeah!) and make FP+ reservations. No official test letter yet but saw posts from others that may not arrive until 17 days out (thanks - grateful to know I haven't been wasting my time make the FP+ reservations!).

I am a planner, I hate lines and like to have a park strategy. Last time I was at DW was Oct 2010 when my kids were 10 and 8. Now they are 13 and 11, and we now have a 1 year old as well. (ok maybe I am not always a planner :) ) So it is going to be more challenging to plan a day that works for everybody. So I am wondering.........

I am understanding from previous posts that I can do regular FP in addition to FP+ (for now while they are in test phase). My question is how exactly do you do that at the regular FP machine. Am I using my paper ticket from Undercover Tourist, or the MB? By linking the paper ticket on MDE is it now void? Do I have to enter the park using my paper ticket for it to work in the regular FP machine? I don't think my paper ticket has the RF technology, if that matters.

Very frustrating trying to figure this out. I learn more reading your forums than I do on the phone with Disney, so any advice you can share is much appreciated.

As of right now, BLT is not part of the test. You will still have FP+ access and your park tickets will be on it, but I am not 100% sure it can be used for your room door access or touch to pay. We are in a similar situation, as we have one night at AoA and move to BLT. We will learn more once those who are testing it now come back from their split stays. The Contemporary is a testing resort, but they are independent of each other.

I would almost bet that most choose not to take many regular FPs if using FP+. Who wants their entire day planned out by the hour?
That's my thinking as well. We have a hard enough time working around having both lunch and dinner reservations, throwing in a bunch of extra FPs would make it more aggravating than anything else.

September/October is a lower crowd season. Thats why they are testing now I'm assuming. I'm sure people can find a room somewhere. They won't all be gone!

Saw posts from spit stays that had no problems opening doors at non test resort SSR and WL.

Am I missing something? I believe AKL Kidani is currently not a testing resort? So in that case MB is not available for them, correct?

The reason I ask for clarification is that I'm waiting on info on Kidani. Thanks.
