I totally agree with you. I love disney and i dont always love change but with Disney change is always a good thing. This is why they TEST it. It will all pan out in the end i have faith in Disney. So for all you whiners you really need to get a better hobby. It is what it is no matter how much crying you do. Its called technology..... Pixie dust to all for FD

I think the benefit to Disney is in optimazation of staffing which in turn saves money.

As a father of a 4YO, i'd love for FP+ to be running when we go in Sept as it'd make my life easier. I don't mind sprinting for FPs but I doubt the wife and child will find that very fun

Basically from a guest perspective I see it as wealth redistibution. Take from the 1% and give to the bottom 30% (no more 10 FPs a day for us DISers, more FPs for the masses). While I understand the angst some have with this, I don't have a problem with it personally even if I'd benefit more under the current system.

There will simply be a new "best way" and those of us that are here or are HC disney people will take advantage of it 1st

And how would you feel if you have to go during peak times, your 4 year old falls in love with the Peter Pan ride and begs to ride again, SB lines are now at 90 minutes and all the FP+s were gone 60 days ago?? Guess you can just get in that SB line or tell your 4 year old that they can't ride. With the current FP system this wasn't a problem since FPs for this ride lasted well into the late afternoon.

I have cancelled. I can only speak for my one experience, but they don't ask, they don't care, they didn't try to get me to rebook at another time, nothing.

I usually get the Yes Tickets and my parents are getting military passes.

So if you did a program that you couldn't link tickets until arrival will you be out of luck?

It is expected that you will be able to link those tickets at some point.

However, they do not state that you will have the same 60 day pre-book window.

I can see how this system will help some people, for certain. Although we aren't power FP users per se, we only use 3-5 a day. Its not the number that bothers me most, its the pre-booking.

What would you say if you logged on at 60 days out and you can't book the FPs you want.

You say you don't want to sprint for FPs but what if you find yourself delayed getting to the park, or to the ride, and HAVE to sprint to the FP that you booked 60 days prior ?

What will you do when your 4yr/o is sick, or tired, or just throwing a fit, and you can't do the park you planned for a day, or your FPs that day, and then can't reschedule because all the FP slots have been booked 60 days prior ?

How about if it craps rain and storms on you on your planned MK day, and your child is super upset at missing out on MK, but you can't tell them you will do it tomorrow, because again you will have no FPs, they were booked 60 days prior ?

Maybe not of concern to you, maybe you just hope this doesn't happen, but I can tell you for myself, and many others, these are MAJOR concerns.

... .I just had, (or TRIED to have) a conversation with my dear bride about some of the aspects of the FP+ concerns I have. EVERY issue you mention, I brought up with her. After "indulging" my "presentation" for 45-minutes, she said:
"I think we should try a cruise instead"
My response: "So, you think I'm hard to get along with in a 500 acre theme park, can you imagine being trapped ON A "BOAT" with me for a week?!"
She then proceeded to leave the room.

We have an Autistic kiddo, and we try to plan for everything that we can think of. Many aspects of our park days simply can't be planned out months ahead of time. I will admit, some parts of the new program actually sound pretty awesome, but I'll continue to "educate" myself as much as I can on the program.

So many questions, and not enough answers...

A.Yes. FastPass+ service is complimentary for FastPass+ eligible Guests with valid theme park admission.

Disney is stating that FP+ will be for everyone with a valid ticket. This would include off-site guest.

Also, our family has 1 day in MK. 1 DAY! And we visit during peak season. We would NEVER be happy strolling into MK at noon and riding a few rides and heading back to our off-site resort. The tickets to Disney cost much to much to ride a couple of rides!!

I have very little trouble getting my family out the door for rope drop. We are always early. And we are late everywhere we go!! Except to Disney parks! We are usually very excited and can't wait to get out the door to the parks. I find it odd the people that come to Disney and don't count the minutes until they can get in the park. But we are glad there are those families!

Your trips are very different from mine. It does seem that fpp will not enhance the brief visit guest experience. We visit 3 to 4 times a year from 3 to 5 nights each trip. Our enjoyment has become just being there, enjoying our resorts, and walking the parks seeing whatever attractions are available. Our resident ap's are reasonable enough that park time does not need to be maximized.

I don't think return guests are that important to Disney...I think they need a steady influx of new visitors...Even with DVC, the goal there is to get people to sign on the dotted line in that moment, they don't have to necessarily keep working to get your business after that point.

One thing DW and I are very thankful for is that we never bought into DVC. I know it works for some folks, but I think the Disney era in our lives may be coming to an end -or at least going into hibernation until grandkids come along. I do not have a good feeling about FP+, and I am frustrated with Disney's failure to add capacity as attendance increases. The combination of these two things make the whole thing that much less magical for me. I am still looking forward to our vacation in September, in large part because it looks like we may get in under the wire before FP+ is fully unleashed.

The Mine Coaster will be the Be Our Guest of FP+ until the novelty wears off...

The Mine Coaster will draw insane numbers because it is the first E-ticket (is is actually an E?) Disney has bothered to add at MK since Splash Mountain. My guess is it remains ridiculously popular for years to come.

So to be FP+ eligible at 60 days in advance you have to link park tickets. That means you have to buy your tickets in advance. We went last year and bought our tickets when we checked in, I guess I won't do that for our Jan. trip. I'm going with a group of 16 and will have to give them this info so we can book together otherwise they would have no idea they need to do this. (That's if FP+ will be up and running for my 1/1 trip.)

Does anyone know if you can link tickets from UT?

It will be all over the boards, and in these threads.

They will contact you if you are eligible to test.

no they don't, we have Darien Lake in upstate NY and unless they added it in the last year or so there's no FP system (used to be a six flags before going private again)

if I went to any other park i'd love to go to, i'd be the WDW rube who has no clue about the ins and outs/not optimizing my time.

I can honestly say our trip to WDW this year will be my 1st park experience anywhere with any sort of FP system. I'm excited to try whatever version is available to me.

The last time I went to WDW there was no FP, of course, they were BUILDING the Tower of Terror back then too

Point taken....guess that is why we have only taken our DS to Disney World even though we can drive from home to a Six Flags or Carowinds in just a few hours. And I have seen the wait times for Peter Pan be 60 to 90 minutes up to 9 or 10 in the evening.

I guess the point I was really making is that you will have no idea what your child is going to love and FP+ could take away some of the freedom of letting them do things like this....pick a favorite and ride it more than once. Like this year when we went to DHS. At RD we went and rode TSM and then picked up a FP to ride later. Our DS loved Star Tours so much this year that he picked riding that again instead of riding TSM. Before the day was over we were able to pick up 3 different sets of FPs for this ride. Last year he loved TSM and wanted to ride it more than once. This year, once was enough and he found something else that he loved. Its hard to know at 60 days out what kids will want to do. Another example is for weeks DS said he was going to ride RnR. The day before we go to DHS, he changed his mind. I know I will have no problem cancelling that FP+ but would there be anything of value for me to get in exchange that close to our park day. When you only have one day in the park, you have to get it done that day. There is no coming back.
