Once FP+ is fully rolled out is suppose to be able to be used by anyone that holds a ticket.
And totally makes sense. For this to be successful, there needs to plenty of choices available online in advance. Or everyone will stop using it. Disney wants those FP slots booked up and in demand in advance. That way people will be more likely to stay at the parks they have chosen and not venture off to universal. It is very clever, just as clever as Magical Express actually. It is a great way to lock in the off site guests. But it only works if FP are hard to get. And they will be...
Without reading all 80 pages of this post, is there any indication as of yet as to how this will affect non-resort guests? Will they just be out of luck on FP or will there be some alternative system in place?
If this has already been answered then just cite me to the page number.
If there is no real line of sight into this issue yet then so be it.

Do you think this will be rolled out by the time we go? So far we haven't received anything that says we have been chosen as a tester.
I would LOVE to participate in this. If you have been chosen as a tester, how closer to your trip were you contacted about being in the program? Is there any special way to get chosen?
I know that there could be several downsides to a system like this, but assuming that it works like it is supposed to, it could have several benefits to my family. I have a young preschooler (she'll be four when we go) so being able to reserve things at times that work for us is great!
Thanks for the info!
So, here's my question... are MBs only able to link and personalize if you are staying at a test site AND you've made final payment? Random thought that crossed my mind today!
I don't believe final payments have any relationship to it. Room Only rooms don't need to be fully paid until check-in.
But do you have access to your ticket info with a package to enter it into MDE for FP+ before you have paid in full? You don't need to pay your room only in full, but it seems Disney will now require you to pay for your tickets in full before you can use FP+. I'm sure that's part of the increased income they can count on making with this. So it's possible that package people may have to pay in full before the 60 day mark in order to book FP+s.![]()
There have been lots of room only testers who haven't had ticket media associated or AP holders as well.
I believe you are right that you need some form of tickets before you can access FP+ but I do not see how that increases income. They are allowing tickets from authorized sellers to be linked to MagicBands![]()
I was wondering if people with packages can link their tickets to MDE before they pay in full. It doesn't really bring in any extra income during the testing because people are not needing to buy and pay for tickets prior to 60 days in order to use FP+ at 60 days (if that's what they actually end up going with).
I have often bought my tickets from outside sellers at about 30 days out (some trips even closer) - that will change for anyone wanting to book FP+ - all tickets will have to be purchased prior to the 60 days - and I was wondering if packages will have to also be paid in full before the 60 day mark to use FP+.
That extra two weeks for packages and 2 months for all visitors must surely add up $$ with the volume of tickets WDW sells. No?

I was able to link my ticket media and I'm not a package holder. I suspect as soon as people put down a deposit they can link ticket media. They have never mentioned the need to pay in full so that remains to be seen. There might be *some* increased income but Disney has stated that day guests will be able to book FP+ as well and use MagicBands.Plus FP+ isn't set in stone 60 days out, many guests will change their plans on the go during their trips.
Hi everyone!
I'm sure this has already been answered, but I am SOO confused about the FP+ and MyMagic+. We are headed to DW on September 17th and are staying at the Beach Club and AKL. Every time I head over to the website or to our "my magic" link I am just directed to the "link friends and family" site.
What I am basically wondering is that if we don't receive a Magic Band, will be still have to use FastPass+ and how will I know if we have the option to use it?
We also have two different reservations (my parents and brother are on a separate reservation than my DH and I), is there a way to make sure we can all get the same FP+ times?
I guess I am still unsure if FP+ is a live thing, and if it is, when can we make the FP selections?
Sorry for the long winded question!!
Yes, you need to link a ticket in order to access FP+. During testing, accessing FP+ is ALSO tied in to where you stay and when. It won't always be.
Do you know offhand which resorts are testing in the Sept test?
There are only rumors of a September test. I do not know what resorts.
