It's Disney Magic. :wizard:

In reality, all at least fairly recent KTTW cards, whether or not they have ticket entitlements or used to scan in to enter the parks, are currently working.

Thanks! Is this true of all posters here? I have not been following this thread or discussion much as we are not testing but now I am considering a switch to a testing resort and would like to know if double dipping is really truly possible as it seemed like previously the KTTW cards did not work this way at FP machines.

If we can double dip during testing it seems like a no brainier.

Yes it is true, there has been nonstop discussion on this since July and you were just told it it works. There are many many threads here on the Dis about it including some that are titled double dipping I believe.

I'm not sure what you mean by "all posters" - this has been reported NUMEROUS times. Right now, testers are given a KTTW card in addition to the bands, as a "backup" device, and for use at some locations that still aren't set up to handle RFID purchases (becoming fewer and fewer every day). They also have them to use in the FP machines. They are TOLD they can use them.

"Double dipping" in that case is that you can have your three FP+, plus a normal allotment of FPs.

But to make the KTTW cards work with the FP computers, even if they enter with the MagicBands, is that they've basically just enabled any "valid" KTTW card to get Fastpasses. What makes it "valid" isn't quite known, but some were able to get FPs with KTTW cards dating as far back as December.

Even non-testers who had separate admission media and a KTTW card were able to get Fastpasses _independently_ with each card. THIS is the bigger issue with "double dipping", as some guests can get twice as many (or more with more cards) Fastpasses as they should be allowed.

My theory - they enabled KTTW cards in general as a simple measure to avoid issues with tracking FP use if the KTTW card itself was not the admission media, because admissions vs. Fastpass computers can only track to the admission media, and not the common profile. They could fix this, but haven't, which leads me to believe that Fastpass will disappear not long after FP+ is available to everyone.

Will double+ dipping continue short term? Hard to say. They could try and curb it more if they were able to track the validity of KTTW cards based on their use dates, etc. but it is possible the FP system as it stands can't access that info.

Great, thank you. I guess it is in my nature to double or quadruple check. I'm an engineer and want to know the data I guess, LOL. And I am responsible for others touring as well. My inlaws who have APs are joining us. So, I do not wish to be wrong or limit our FP opps as we normally use at least 5 per day. Thus I don't see loving FP+ when it is fully rolled out unless same day FPs are available in some form.

I appreciate this summary of testing has been working with regard to double dipping as it was not in the FAQs and I have not been following until recently. Thank you so much for your informative post.

For people not yet eligible to customize magic bands or make FP+ reservations, how is your MDE site supposed to look? For instance, when I am logged into MDE and click on the MB section, it asks me to link my tickets. I have a MYW package booked, so I enter the confirmation number and it tells me that package is already linked (and it says its already linked to my name...)... is this what happens to anyone not eligible to customize bands yet? When I look under "My Reservations", my trip is listed there and is correct.

I had a ton of issues with MDE not recognizing my +10 at my ADR time (never did work), so I am concerned it is having trouble linking my reservation. My reservation is booked under a pin that was sent to my work email, but MDE is set up under my home email so I hope that's not screwing anything up :confused3

Does anyone know if this includes party tickets? We are going to both MNSSHP and MVMCP our next trip.

Just to cover all bases here.

If you're talking about using your MNSSHP and MVMCP tickets on the day of the event but before 4pm (with a day ticket for entry) then it might work (needs to be tested)

if your questions is about using your party tickets during the party, then it's no use, since there are no FP-/FP+ at parties.
And even if you enter at 4pm with your party ticket as you're entitled to, I doubt there will be many FP- left for the 4 to 7pm period of time

and if your question is about using MNSSHP tickets on other days to get more FP- just by using anotner ticket media for Fastpasses, then you're opening a can of worms.

i apologize if this has been asked (there are a LOT of pages in this thread and i didn't see this addressed in the first post).

has anyone upgraded their MagicBand admission to an AP? we have five-day passes for our October trip and plan to upgrade to an AP. however, i want to do it on our first day so i can purchase a Tables in Wonderland card. i just wondered if anyone has done this successfully or if it has messed up any FP+ times.

thanks!

Even if someone answered you that they had done exactly this and it worked perfectly, the truth is it very well could mess up your times. The whole point of a test is to work out issues. Which means things will be inconsistent. But that shouldn't stop you from buying the tickets you want. Don't let FP+ test dictate your vacation, if it messes something up they will try hard to make it up for you.

We're staying at POR starting October 31. We've been included in the testing group.

Aside from what I had already noted regarding the app not recognizing parties larger than 4, I have also found that I am limited to 3 at MK (unlike others who reported being able to get 4 recently). I have also been unable to reserve any parades/fireworks/events using it for the entire 9 days we will be there. The slots just aren't available.

Reports are that only some slots have been loaded into the system beyond October 31st, as they haven't actually defined testing for beyond that date yet.

I just changed one person in our party of three. I got rid of expedition Everest in exchange for Kali river rapids in the same time frame and did the dame thing in Epcot and Hollywood studios. It worked like a charm.

Mine came up with that until the 60 day mark when ever I went in to the Magic Band section. Then on the 60 day mark an addtion option came up saying "Customise Magic Bands" and then I could do everything.

Reports are that Novembers have yet to be added to system. October 30th for me had loads of things at EPCOT and then 1st November goes down to very few slots. None had parades or fireworks

I don't think there will be any more testing beyond the current resorts. POR goes live tomorrow for its "test phase" (which notionally finishes on 31 Oct) but I understand that will probably be the last one. From here onward we will just see new resorts gradually getting added into the live system. It will still be phased of course, but I don't think we'll see any resorts going back again now.

So I guess it won't be long before there is a simple 60-day rolling window for Online-Checkin and FP+ bookings, just like there is for ADRs.

I think OP was referring to the IT rep who said that the November slots have not been loaded yet as November is yet to be part of the testing. I agree that I think if they are planning on releasing by the end of the year that this will be officially the last phase of testing (up to October) but I would also think that the November slots will be loaded after it has been announced what will happen in November. The likelihood is (as you suggested) that other resorts will then come on line and I think you are correct about this. Tomorrow would be the 60 day mark for November so it will be interesting to see what happens with regards to these slots. I'm hoping that they will spread the Disney magic and open them up then but if not I doubt they will release any more before they make an announcement about November. Fingers crossed its soon as currently I have lots of random fast passes for things that I will never ride on as it was the only way I could book one for the rides I do do. I'm checking every day at the moment to see if anything else comes up but we'll see what happens.

On a different note how do I book fast passes for parades/fireworks. I've tried going into My Itinerary as selected and it comes up when you add plans for parade and fireworks saying "request fastpass". I click this then it takes me to the normal fastpass screen and I have to go back through everything again requesting fast pass changes. It doesn't appear to show in here no matter what I do. I've even tried it on days when I have yet to select fast passes but it doesn't show. Does this mean it is not available?

Thanks in advance

Are the Be Our Guest reservations available at 60 days out or are they available sooner than that? I am more than 60 days out and when I went to the BOG website to make a reservation, there wasn't anything available on any day. I'm just wondering if it is too early or if I missed my chance?

Thanks,
Maggie

seems like nothing has been released for the last few days of September or October dates yet.

Is anyone else hearing that there will not be testing in November and December? This was recently posted on the November invite board:

I'm not sure what others have heard but on the UK boards somebody posted an official email they relieved from disney IT stating that there will be NO MB testing for November or December!

Any body checking in to 1 of the participating hotels before October 31st will be able to use their MB and make selections for their whole stay, anybody arriving after that even if in a hotel that is participating for guests before November will not get the bands!

I called up today and asked as I check into the Poly on the 28th October and my MDE app is saying I can customise my bands, I was told that the above was true and I'm lucky as I'm checking in before the deadline, they will start rolling out the MB again in January.
