What happens if you lose your magic band? We're traveling with a 4 & 5yo and I'm afraid my 4yo won't be very responsible with it

From the MagicBand & Cards FAQ:
Q. What should I do if I lose my MagicBand or card?

A. If you can access disneyworld.com, please visit the MagicBand section of My Profile, select the “Deactivate” button next to the MagicBand or card and when asked for the reason why, indicate that the MagicBand or card is lost. You can also deactivate a MagicBand using the My Disney Experience mobile app.

If you lose your MagicBand or card at Walt Disney World Resort, please visit Guest Relations or a Disney Resort hotel Lobby Concierge and we will deactivate it for you and provide you with a replacement MagicBand or card.

If you have another available MagicBand or card, you can activate it on the MagicBand section of My Profile in My Disney Experience. If your visit is more than 10 days away, contact us to have a replacement MagicBand shipped to you.

Replacement MagicBands may be subject to a fee.

checking into POFQ on October 19th and really disappointed that we won't have a chance to try out FP+. We can only afford to go to WDW every 4-5 years; would have been pretty exciting for the kids.

If you change to Pop and you can test magic bands.

Has anyone been able to call or email and ask to be included in the fastpass + test?

I feel kind of left out, everyone with fastpass + is able to double dip, get into VIP viewing areas for nighttime shows that are pretty empty and schedule fastpass +.

I am staying at Coronado in October and can't really change my reservation to POR.

So has anyone been able to be included by asking?

Don't lose hope. I'm at Coronado Springs right now. I wasn't supposed to be able to use my MB until I get to AKL on Tues. But my band works as my room key. I also used it to enter MK this morning, and paid for breakfast @ CP with it. My FP+ is still not available on MDE until Tues. But the CM at the concierge desk was able to reserve my 3 FP+ times for Epcot later today.

Like I said, I did NOT expect to be able to use MB or FP+ until Tuesday. Now I will have it for my whole trip. It's all pixie dust, and I'm loving it.

Hope someone can help me here. We have six day parkhoppers and plan on adding a day when we're there. We need to do early ticket pickup and was planning on adding the day on our third day there. Some people have posted that when they went to add a day on there fp+ ress disappeared. Would it be better to call disney now and change our six day ph to seven in order to avoid this problem?

That's great I am hoping that is true for us when we do our split stay in 3 weeks!

Ok, if we have our MBs in our hands prior to arrival, can we just head to the parks prior to checking into our resort? Our flight lands at 8am, and it would be very convenient to just park and head into the parks when they open.

Pardon me for asking questions that have likely been asked. My parents have decided last minute to take a trip, so I'm trying to sort out ther details.

They are checking in to POR on 10/18. Will that resort be a part of the testing? I'm linking their reservations to MDE and making all of their dining reservations that way, as well as FP+. Will they be able to take advantage of regular FP at the same time? If so, what are the limitations?

Thanks so much!

Is BLT included right now, I know it lists the Contemporary but not BLT but since checkin is at the same place I was wondering if it is included

As far as I know it is not. BLT also has it's own check-in desk, although the CR check-in can also be used.

1. Yes, POR is using the new system in October. You should see the place to customize the MagicBands on the MDE account. And if there are tickets linked to their MDE account, you should be able to make them FP+ reservations.

2. So far, Disney has continued to give guests testing MagicBands KTTW cards as a backup in case they run into an issues with the bands. They can use the KTTW card to get regular FPs.

Oh we haven't stayed their since 2009 and we had to check in through the contemporary then

The BLT check-in desk is only open 7 AM to 10 PM. If you are using DME, you still check-in at the Contemporary.

I'm not quite sure when they put it in. It has limited hours, so late arrivals and DME arrivals use the regular CR check-in.

AKV-J and BCV don't have any independent check-in desks. They did try one at BCV but opted not to keep it.

This may have already been covered, but I just can't bring myself to read 152 pages to find out!

I'm traveling solo/with a friend and her family. Sometimes we'll be doing things together and sometimes we'll be separate. We were chosen to test for our stay at the Polynesian in October. Do all the FP+ selections need to be the same for everyone in the party? Or would I be able to make my own choices? Is there still the option of selecting your FP+ times at a kiosk or something once you get to Orlando (right now I cannot make selections as I am not the lead guest on the account)? I vaguely remember hearing about something like that before.

Do all the FP+ selections need to be the same for everyone in the party?

Nope.

From the FastPass+ FAQ:
Q. I have children of different ages, and they like different attractions and entertainment. Does FastPass+ service allow my family to do different activities?

A. Yes. We want every member of your party to have a great Walt Disney World vacation—regardless of age or interests. When you make FastPass+ selections, you select which members of your party wish to experience each attraction or entertainment offering. If individuals do not want to share an experience, you can select alternate experiences for those party members.

If people in your party do not wish to experience an attraction, they are free to skip it. However, children under age 14 must be accompanied by a Guest age 14 or older to enter the theme parks and water parks. Once inside the parks, children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by a Guest the age of 14 or older when they experience an attraction.

Just dropping by to see if there is any word on how this will go for offsite visitors. If we go, we have to stay offsite this December and I'd like to know what to expect.

No idea when offsite visitors might be included, or what the impact will be from those using it on those who are not. Right now, the impact appears to be minimal, as I saw VERY few using it while I was there recently.

I saw dozens of families using MagicBands last week (especially since I was at BCV and BC was testing.) I asked many how their experience was. They all said it was fun and enjoyable. But when asked, they mostly quoted using them as room keys and touch to pay. I asked if they had pre-reserved Fastpass+ and most had... NOT. They used the kiosks to pull 1 or 2 same day. Most did not even know they could manage the Fastpass+ each day with an iPhone or Android phone.

When I explained they could have reserved each day in advance, most said "Why would we want to do THAT?" that means planning each day in advance and it's bad enough we have to reserve our meals ahead.

I think the short notice of these tests is preventing the full experience to be tested.... and I definitely saw a lack of enthusiasm for advance planning.

No. Only guests staying (or have stayed) at testing resorts seem to have any option to select FP+. It is not entirely dependent on MagicBands, but the two are testing together.

N/A. But in general, the FP+ are attached to your profile in the computer. The MagicBand and/or KTTW card are the key to the profile. Either would work.

I think a LOT of the people using the separate web site to book the BOG FP+ were not "invited". However, it still seems dependent on some factors as to whether you can use it.

It basically means that you won't be able to book FP+ in advance, until you get the tickets and link them to your profile.

Thanks so much for the info doconeill!
