MyMagic+ executive gone, now Disney needs to remove certain fast passes

Not sure if serious......

Some of us could see right through it from the get go. I'm still waiting on my pitchfork pick-up location....:wave2:

Its at my house with a rake, shovel and various other yard tools. If I knew you were this anxious for landscaping work we could of worked something out long ago :rolleyes1

What does the village reference mean then?

Oh, never said that isn't want it meant. Just didn't come out and out and call anyone an idiot. Folks could take it however they wanted.

And the reference was not for the idea. It was for the demanding and stating that Disney had 3 months to meet demands. Etc. Heavens that is not talk of rational people.

For what it's worth, in my opinion the OP has a point. The increase in standby waits at the named attractions are to me the most annoying consequence of FP+. I certainly don't agree with the tone of the OP's diatribe, and I doubt it will change back. But I wouldn't be upset if it did.

I'm pretty sure this is par for the course around here, from both "sides" of any argument. LOL

Soon ... we will find a removal of fast passes for several attractions albeit it may be seasonal.
Are you willing to place a gentle-person's wager on this?

If so, I propose the following: Consider the set of omni-mover or large-capacity boat attractions. These include Buzz, Mansion, iasw, Pirates, Mermaid, SSE, and Nemo. If you accept this list, good. If you want to add to it, we can by mutual agreement.

If any of the listed attractions loses FP+ for one month or more within the next year, I will publicly laud your praises as a well-connected insider who had sources within the company no one else had, and the foresight and vision to call it as it was, alone correct in the wilderness. I will do this in this thread (assuming it is not locked).

If that doesn't happen you will make a comparable statement about the fact that you don't know the first thing about any of this.

Disney had to fabricate long lines that would not normally exist.
The only way to do that is to reduce capacity. Having one line or two doesn't really matter if the first line can end up serving both loading docks and the boats still dispatch at the same interval.

The standby line isn't longer because they reduced capacity. The standby line is longer because there is demand for FP+ reservations for the ride. And, this is in a park without tiering and many high-profile attractions that rarely "run out" of advance FP+ reservations, so it's not a matter of limited choices forcing people to use it as you could argue at SSE.

So here is what i am getting out of this

1. We are all idiots
2. We left a little town...Quiet Village....
3. We are landscaping at Bigmo's house
4. mom2rtk is bringing lunch
5. Someone is getting me a Dole Whip

I agree with this post entirely. Don't like the OP's wording or attitude, but I agree that cutting one of the lines off on POTC to use it for FP+ is just stupid. They took a ride that was not usually more than 15 minutes wait and now doubled it to 30 minutes. Unless you want to use one of your precious FP+ on it...or if you want to wait in a line at a kiosk after you have used your first 3 FP+ and try to get a 4th, 5th, etc FP+ to use on it.

I just think that on rides where the built-in queue was never used for FP, like POTC, HM, SE, etc. then you are only screwing up the stand-by wait time seriously by adding FP+ to it because you are changing the whole complexion of the ride queue. If they can't add a 3rd line or some other way to bring in the FP+ people, then they should have left it alone.

So again...disagree with tone and attitude of OP but the concept of what he/she is referring to IMHO is 100% on point.

What I saw was someone who felt strongly about something and people were quick to support his agenda......build his hopes up...show the OP how to format the letter and giving him specific words to use.....making him believe that Disney was going buckle to his demands. Today- they either don't know him or he's the biggest joke and no one want anything to do with this letter!!!!! That's not nice....I wouldn't treat someone like that. I would be honest and tell him the truth----not build him up and then ignore or laugh at him the next day. :sad2:

My friend, you need a dole whip.

You in no way speak for me. I'm fine with having an opinion, but you sound like Bane telling the people of Gotham the city is theirs for the taking! ;P Here's a Bane quote from Dark Knight Rises, just replace "Gotham" with "Disney"..."We take Gotham from the corrupt! The rich! The oppressors of generations who have kept you down with myths of opportunity, and we give it back to you... the people. Gotham is yours. None shall interfere. Do as you please. Start by storming Blackgate, and freeing the oppressed! Step forward those who would serve. For an army will be raised. The powerful will be ripped from their decadent nests, and cast out into the cold world that we know and endure. Courts will be convened. Spoils will be enjoyed. Blood will be shed. The police will survive, as they learn to serve true justice. This great city... it will endure. Gotham will survive!" :rotfl:

If you don't like things...don't go. But please don't issue some manifesto and say it speaks for the collective. Like you have a clue how everyone feels or thinks about it.

I had a great first experience with MyMagic+ and Fastpass+ during my last visit to Magic Kingdom. I was nervous about it going in, but both my wife and I called it the best time we've ever had at the park. We got in multiple rides on favorites...using both FP and standby lines. With an insanely large crowd that day no less.

As far as standby lines...I never felt I was in a line longer than tolerable. It forced me to slow down and take in the experience, talking, just enjoying being there, instead of rushing to this or that. Knowing I had FPs for my favorites let me absolutely relax and be okay with a wait. And the ability to change and control my FPs without running around...omg, fantastic.

So if you're raising an army, I'll be on the other side defending the gates! :)
Ha ha!!!!! I have never been more proud of a response here!!! Well done sir....I think my work here is done!! :thumbsup2

Haha!!!! I can't figure out why he keep talking about tools and pitchforks!! Yeah Bigmo..... go on and put him to work!! :rotfl:

Don't fall for that....everyone here know that you did not call the OP an idiot. You used an appropriate reference and not in a malicious way. They do this all the time----when stuff don't work out as they had hoped they try to change the subject quick and gang up someone!! Don't fall for it!!!! What I find to be disingenuous is the posters who were helping the OP yesterday and now today they laughing at him. I believe the worst statement is the one that calls the OP's post a diatribe!! GEEZ!! :sad2:

I don't want to ride Pirates anyway since they changed the boats. You just get soaked with nasty pirate water now.

The OP is not laughing!!! He wasn't laughing yesterday and he isn't laughing today. He is serious about his letter and others were too!! I gotta give the OP credit for sticking to his guns not changing his opinion in order to save face!!!! :thumbsup2

All I will say is, as Voltaire once said, "Common sense is not so common."

In that spirit, the other side of the coin is to embrace the change. I just looked on MDE and at at 3:40 1 person, could get a FP+ for 3:45 for Haunted Mansion, or 4:00 on POTC, or 4:30 on Jungle Cruise. Looking on Touring Plan, a year ago today, Haunted Mansion has 35 min. wait at 3:45, POTC had a 30 min. wait, and Jungle Cruise had a 45 minute wait (down from over an hour earlier in the day). Those sound like prime potential 4th, 5th and 6th FP+. Even based on last year's waits these FP+'s would save time.
