My Year of Disney BEGINS: a little Running, a little Drinking: PTR **1/12-W&D-Day 8**

Now that the ADRs are all made, it's time to narrow down the menu items for Wine and Dine!!!!

Day 1, 11/5, Hoop Dee Doo: This one's easy - it's a set menu of Salad, Fried Chicken, Corn Bread, Smoked Barbecued Pork Ribs, Mashed Potatoes, Cowboy Beans, Seasonal Vegetables and Strawberry Shortcake for dessert.

Drinks: Unlimited beer, wine or sangria, but I'll probably have a beer at the most. I'll have to keep it relatively dry until after the race on Saturday night.

I also got some Oofos recovery sandals for after the longer runs. I hope they work!
Have you tried these yet? Did you buy the unisex or woman's version? Did you order them online, if so, did you order your normal size, how did they fit? :) Thanks, appreciate your input. Hope your big run went better than the day before.

Looks like you have some good choices to enjoy during your Wine & Dine Trip!

I'm just hoping my liver survives that weekend trip.

Oh, Hoop-de-Doo. You somehow managed to charm an entire group of high school aged, thought-they-were-so-sophisticated chorus brats once upon a time....

I wore them around the house a little today and they are quite comfy. I've never felt anything like them before. I got the woman's sandal from roadrunnersports.com in my normal shoe size. Unfortunately my run didn't go well because I didn't let it go well. My headphones weren't charged enough for the whole run and I ended up coming back home when they died. I probably should've kept going but I hate listening to myself breathe when I'm running, lol. I'll make it up tomorrow. :)

Our livers during Wine and Dine ---> :crutches:

That's a tall order! I'm impressed. I just hope my flight is on time so I make the show!

Oh... That FOOD... Mmmmm.... It looks delicious. I don't eat very much for bread items any more - but in Disney, that is the exception... And their endless varieties of French toast/bread pudding - I just cannot pass up. Yummy!!!!

I've never done HDDR, some day, I hope to. ::yes::

Sorry about having to cut your run short - hopefully the GI distress wasn't too bad. ::yes::

I hope you had a nice weekend!

LOL, you're right about the endless varieties of French Toast. Too many resorts, not enough time! Olivia's Cafe was a last minute add onto the schedule, but I'm really looking forward to it now.

I've heard nothing but good things about HDDR. I'd better like it since I plan on taking each of the nephews to the show in the coming years.

I had an okay weekend. I feel like I'm putting too much pressure on each run to be great since W&D is coming up so fast. I'm starting to worry that I won't be ready in time. :sad2:

Hehehe... My weakness is the stuffed French toast at CP, and the banana bread - bread pudding at TH... Mmmmm.... LOVE those!!!

Me too... Some day I will get there - but probably not any time soon. Maybe if DH and I ever get to go alone, possibly?

I cannot imagine how much pressure that must be, but you are doing great!!!! I know you can do it!!!! :thumbsup2

I don't know that I have any right to say anything here because I'm nowhere near half marathon distance, but ...
Don't stress about it. W&D is just another run. It would be awesome if you could make it through the whole race and do really well. But all you can do is try your best. As long as you cross the start line, you get a medal (or so I hear) ... so just focus on feeling okay and making it through your runs without getting hurt. There are people who run halfs without having done more than 9-10 miles before the race. If you can make it close to that, you should be okay.
(I'm sometimes a big advocate of doing the distance before the race, but I know it doesn't always work out that way for everyone, and I think that you really can do 13.1 for the first time on race day if you trust yourself and put as much effort into your training as you can)

Ooooh, I can't wait for my Crystal Palace ADR for that puffed French toast! Banana bread pudding sounds AH-Mazing! We're doing breakfast at Tusker House for W&D on our AK day. I hope they serve it for breakfast. Or is it only a lunch/dinner thing?

I think HDDR would be great for you guys to see as a couple. Unlimited wine, beer and sangria! If you stayed at WL you could just take the boat back and not worry about buses or driving. :)

Thank you! I'm actually feeling better about things today. I just had a few runs in a row that weren't great, but today's went much better. :D

I appreciate you saying your piece. It helps a lot. I was SUPER undertrained for Tink in 2014 and just don't want to go through that again. Like I told D~, I had a run of crappy runs and was starting to worry. This morning's run, on the other hand, made me feel much better. I think I just decided at some point yesterday that I was going to go out and give it my all on that particular run without thinking about the repercussions for race day. Basically like you suggested....just not stress about it.

I think we all go through those bad runs and those not so bad runs. Glad today's run was a good one!

Princess trip update! The room only discount for dates covering my trip came out today for Disney Visa cardholders. I called this morning before work and saved over $1000 on my Yacht Club reservation that I'd already had booked!!! :rainbow:

I thought I'd share some new non-running shoes for a change! I'm undecided if I'll bring the boots with me in November. I need to break in the sandals before I hit the parks. I really don't want blisters this trip!
