Pluto, Where are You???
Sunday, December 1, Part 2
Hi everyone! When we left off, we were just getting on a boat, sailing away to the Magic Kingdom! Don't you wish it was that easy in real life? Oh, just gonna take the boat over to the Magic Kingdom today, no big deal...
Anyway, we got there, went through bag check, used our lovely Magic Bands to get in, and we were about to go in when I had to stop for a picture...and I'm so glad I did, because I got one of my favorites of the entire trip!
Ahh, I just love it! It's just so perfectly Magic Kingdom-y and Christmas-y!
We went in and made our way to the left for some reason...I think I was stalking Pluto, to see if he was out
Which sadly he wasn't! Figures, the one character I want to meet wasn't out! So I got my phone out to check the character times, and he was supposed to be back out in about 20 minutes. So I asked Brandon if he minded waiting and he didn't care so I guess we were stuck in the Magic Kingdom! What a horrible problem to have, right?
I was dying to go on Splash Mountain, since it seemed like forever since I've been on that ride! It was closed in February when I was there with my sister, and it just seemed like it was years! And it was hot, so I didn't even mind if I got wet!
We walked all the way to Splash and grabbed FP's that were ready in an hour, which was perfect! That way we could go back to Town Square, meet Pluto, then go back to Splash!
On the way back to Main Street, we were distracted by...Disney ducklings!!!
They were the TINIEST, cutest little ducklings that I've ever seen! Like it seemed like they just hatched that morning, they were so tiny! And the mom duck was ferocious, she did not want any male ducks near her babies, if they got close she would swim at them all fast and quack like a crazy duck...it was so cute to watch!
Brandon got all upset though, because he said he counted them and while we were watching, he said a few disappeared...he assumed they swam off and got eaten. Now he's not normally a pessimist like that, usually that's something I would say and let it ruin my day, but he was convinced we just witnessed these ducklings swim off to their death. So I was like "what do you think ate them exactly? Boy ducks? An invisible hawk that swooped down that we just didn't see?" I tried to convince him they were fine and he just miscounted, but he was seriously upset about this.

I was sure they were fine...that mommy duck was doing a good job protecting them!
After the duck event, we were back on beautiful Main Street!
And we hopped in line to meet Pluto, I think we were maybe 4th or 5th in line, it wasn't too long of a wait before we were meeting him!
As soon as Pluto saw me walk up with my Pluto shirt on, he was so excited! He was jumping around, pointing and just doing cute Pluto things! And then his character attendant said "oh look Pluto, even her bow matches you!" and he looked at it, gave me a hug and made a licking dog sound when he hugged me! So adorable, I loved meeting him, made our spontaneous MK trip totally worth it!
We said goodbye to Pluto and we were ready to go back to Splash...but we didn't want to walk, so we went up to the train station to hop on the train, since the Fronteirland stop is actually at Splash Mountain!
While we were up there, I wanted one of those beautiful, iconic pictures of Main Street that people always get up there...but I was a bit off center haha!
Oh well, this is why I'm not a photographer I guess!
I asked Brandon to take a picture of me with Main Street in the background...again, this is the best he could do.

I do like that you can see Marie in the picture!
The train took forever to arrive, and it was packed, but we finally found a spot to sit. For some reason, I checked the Disney app while we were on, and it said Splash was down!

WHAT??? We have Fast Passes!!! Ugh...I was hoping maybe it was wrong, but when we pulled up to the station, sure enough, it was closed. So we stayed on the train and got off in New Fantasyland.
We went into Big Top treats for a little while and I got a lovely, Christmasy cake pop!
Brandon got one too, which was different than mine, it was supposed to be a reindeer that had pretzels for ears, but he devoured it before I could take a picture!
We walked by the Little Mermaid ride, which I was hoping to go on, but nope, line was too long. I was starting to get annoyed with the crowds in MK that day, I figured they'd be light since it was a
MVMCP night, but it was really crowded! Guess you have to expect that the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Still, it seemed abnormally crowded. Sigh.
It was getting late, and we had early dinner reservations, so we figured we should go back to the Wilderness Lodge and get back to Pop. Of course, once we got to the Wilderness Lodge, we didn't leave right away because it's just so beautiful and calm and relaxing in there. I could spend a whole day in that lobby, curled up with a book near the fireplace.
As much as we wanted to stay, we finally left and drove back to Pop. Brandon took a shower and I attempted to take a quick nap before we were back out the door, on our way to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants! :thumbsup
Up next...dinner and magic hours!
