Let It Go, Let It GO!

Saturday, 11/30 Part 4

After spending a few hours at the Poly and the Grand, we finally made it over to the Magic Kingdom! I've been waiting over a year for this moment, so I was little anxious getting off of the monorail. I told myself to slow down and enjoy it, but the whole trip I was just so aware of how we had no time and had to fit everything in that I was just running from place to place. Even when we did slow down and sit and hang out, my mind was still racing with what to do next, what to do tomorrow.

Anyway, we made it down the ramp and used our fancy MB's to get into MK and luckily, the Mickey head turned green with no problem! Since we used our tickets to get into Epcot before I linked them, I was anticipating something going wrong, but it didn't! :thumbsup2

I took an awful picture of the Magic Kingdom entrance before pretty much running inside!

You'll never guess what was happening once we got in...yep, the Main Street Electrical Parade! I swear, this if a parade could be my enemy, this parade and I would be enemies, because it just taunts me whenever I walk inside of the Magic Kingdom. "Haha, no more SpectroMagic for you!" :(

Since there were about 8 million people watching the parade, they opened up the little secret passage where you get to go "backstage" and walk behind the shops and end up in Tomorrowland. I love doing that, I think it's so cool to see what goes on back there!

Once we got to Tomorrowland, we were greeted with...8 million more people. Ok, maybe not 8 million. Maybe 2 million. It was crazy, how many people were in MK that night, I mean, I knew it would be busy, it was a Saturday, it was open until 1 am, blah blah blah. I just wasn't expecting this.

We made our way to the Peoplemover and got on to relax a little, after fighting our way through the crowds. I realized how much my feet hurt so I took my shoes off while we were on there and put them up on the seat in front of me...I was in so much pain, which was weird, because it was only our first day there. Usually I'm not in this much pain until like, 5 or 6 days into a trip.

(Just in case you were all dying to see my shoeless feet, haha! And yes, I'm wearing socks, they're pink, but the lighting in this picture makes it kind of look like I'm not wearing socks doesn't it? Strange.)

When we got off the Peoplemover, we went over to Space Mountain and grabbed some FP's for later, I think they were good around 11 or something like that. We tucked them away and then went to find a good spot to see Celebrate the Magic and Wishes!

Since it was almost starting, we didn't get the best view, but it was ok. I told myself no pictures, but of course, I didn't listen to myself, so here are some from Celebrate the Magic!

Ok, so before I went on this trip, I knew very little about Frozen. Yes, I saw the commercials and of course I wanted to see it, but I didn't really know a lot about it. So during the new Frozen segment with Elsa and they play part of "Let it Go" I was HOOKED. It's not even the whole song, and I was in love with it. I couldn't get it out of my head for days, I was just mesmerized by the whole scene. When I finally went home and saw the movie, it was even better than I imagined! "Let it Go" is probably my new favorite Disney song, and Elsa is my new favorite Disney royal! It was so cool seeing part of it for the first time during Celebrate the Magic!

Next up, Wishes!

Wishes was amazing, as always! It was hard deciding what to see that first night, Illuminations or Wishes, but I had to go with Wishes. As much as I love my Illuminations, I just wanted to be reminded to keep believing in my dreams and wishes from Jiminy our first night in Disney World!

Once Wishes was over, before we did anything else, I was hoping to get right in front of the castle like I always do and take pictures of it, all lit up and beautiful. So I made my way over and prepared to do that, but for some reason, my camera was being uncooperative. Everything was blurry and the color of the Castle wasn't coming out right, so I gave up! This is the best one I got:

We walked over to Liberty Square and went on the Haunted Mansion since there wasn't really a wait. After, I was finally able to see something I waited almost a YEAR to see! Nope, not a new attraction...the Tangled Bathrooms!

I told Brandon before we went on this trip that when we first got to MK, I was going to run to the Tangled bathrooms to see them, and I fully intended to, but I didn't think the crowds would be so crazy, and that we would basically have no time before Celebrate the Magic. So I had to wait a little longer, but it was totally worth it! This area is so cool...and it's just bathrooms!

I heard that they are hidden Pascals there, so we looked for them for a little while but didn't find them. :confused3

I think Brandon was getting a little bored with the bathrooms (although, he surprised me, he was really impressed by them and liked how there are frying pans hanging in the men's bathrooms!) so we went to do something else. Journey Under the Sea was out, the wait was too long...but Philharmagic had no wait!

Philharmagic was amazing as always, but I was starting to get really, really tired at that point. It was almost time to use our Space Mountain FP's so we headed that way, but I wanted to say hi to Winnie the Pooh and friends first, so we went on that. Once we were finished, we were both exhausted. I think the 2 am wake up was finally catching up with me, I could barely keep my eyes open. As much as I wanted to ride Space Mountain, I wanted to go to sleep even more. And Brandon will never argue with leaving to go to sleep, so we made our way out.

Of course, the 2 million people who were entering Tomorrowland before were now leaving the Magic Kingdom, so it was crazy trying to leave. We had to take the stupid ferry, as usual, because it seems like we can never leave MK anymore and actually take the monorail to the TTC. So we got in the mile long line and waited forever, but finally a ferry came and we all crammed in.

We made it to the TTC, and then had to wait for a tram back to our car, which again, took forever. Maybe it didn't, I might have been really tired, but it just seemed like everything was going in slow motion when we trying to leave. We finally got back to the car and got in, and I'm pretty sure I fell asleep on the way back to Pop. And it's like a 5 minute drive, that's how tired I was!

I set the alarm on my phone and immediately collapsed into bed. We had to be up early the next morning and I wanted to be rested for our first full day in Disney World! :woohoo:

OK, I'm already in love with this update from the title alone. PLUS it fits perfectly with your avatar (which is awesome).

AND you're a Spectro lover!!!!!! OK we're definitely friends now. And to think they destroyed all the floats. Gone! They didn't once think to ask if anyone (i.e. me) would take them off their hands.

Ahhh do not underestimate MK on a non party night, a Saturday no less. Insanity rules.

Don't worry, the Peoplemover feet shot is a Must Do.

OMG ME TOOOOOO! Had seen nothing from Frozen (still haven't seen the movie... yet) but the Let It Go segment blew my mind. Exactly the same, everything you described. Unreal.

Don't fret Jen, those Pascals are tough. :goodvibes

OMG, that story of the bread pudding from 'Ohana was just magical! I made Howard pause the show he was watching so I could show him the pictures and retell it to him! AMAZING!

And YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY for no migraines this trip! That's so thrilling!

I'm a HUGE Celebrate the Magic fan and I absolutely LOVED the new Frozen part! I agree it made me want to see the movie so bad and I am so hooked on that song. I made sure we saw it 3 times our last trip : )

Wishes and Celebrate the magic make it worth but MK is always so crazy at night.

I love the Tangled bathrooms too! So well done and pretty. My Dad was jealous he thought the ladies side looked better than the mens :rotfl2:

I whole heartedly agree with you on Elsa and Frozen. Once I saw the movie and heard that song, I became addicted as well! She isn't my favorite royal, but she's surely up there!

Ahhh MK finally! Oh you got to walk through the secret back stage area. I'd totally have my camera out and photographing everything! :)

Ha ha! You have to ride People Mover without anyone opposite you - so you can prop your feet you know. I seem to ride when I'm pretty pooped as well.

Good call with Wishes for your first fireworks show - especially since they added the Frozen part into the production. What a great update! I'm one of probably 10 people on the Dis that has not seen the movie - yet. I know what you mean about the emotional pull of Let It Go for the Celebrate the Magic show. Well done Disney.

Sounds like a great first day! :thumbsup2

Oh I'm glad I found this trip report not too far in! Disney World and Christmas are MY favorites, too... so combining the two is just PERFECTION!

How freakin' cool is it that yall were given bread pudding from Ohana when you weren't eating there?! I would've been just as excited as you were! That's so neat! The bread pudding is DELICIOUS! Now I want some.

Girl, I feel the same way... I WANT SPECTRO BACK! :confused3

You sure packed a lot into your first day. I am just exhausted reading about it.

The bread pudding - wow - what a score and for only $6. It looks beautiful. That was some serious pixie dust. And Brandon's sushi looks so good.

What a lovely evening in the MK and your pics turned out great. Can you believe I have still not been in the Tangled bathrooms? I swore I would go in there in October and it never happened. The outside is pretty cool, though. :rotfl: Glad Brandon liked the men's room. :rotfl:

It really is SO painful leaving the MK at night. I have grown to dislike it. There is just no easy way out.

Looking forward to more fun.

YAAAAY FROZEN!!! Omg, I want to see the Let It Go segment of CTM so badly, but I have a feeling they'll change it out before spring hits... since it's sort of a winter themed movie. Hahah. Drat!

I love your castle pic! It's so colorful and pretty.

YESSS the Tangled bathrooms. So perfect.

Just so you know...I noticed that they were pink socks. :)

Sorry about the crowds, but at least they let you go through the back door.

People Mover is a great start.

Unfortunately, we missed the Celebrate the Magic Show in August and December. I will be sure to see it this year. I've still not seen Frozen or Saving Mr. Banks. Every time we want to go the weather has been awful...as it is again today.

I'm the opposite of you...I prefer taking the Ferry; we avoid the monorail at al costs.

I'd be exhausted too if I was up at 2 a.m. and still going at 11 p.m.

The picture you got of the castle, with all those different colors, is GORGEOUS! Ahhh! You make me want to go back at Christmas time so bad! If I could really plan around the crowd calendar, I'd do it! I just know that I couldn't handle so many people! Just dealing with F & W that one Saturday on our October trip was enough! I couldn't do that every day!

I NEED to see Frozen! ASAP!

I love, love that picture of the castle with the red firework---gorgeous!

We LOVED frozen!!!!! Fab movie!!

Boo for millions of people, but yay for time in MK!! :)

Totally understand being tired and things seeming to go snail slow LoL

Ah, now you've got that song in my head! It was a very good movie. Wish I'd made it to the castle show on our trip (I only saw a bit from the Poly and, at that distance, it's just not the same). Love all the colors in your castle picture! The Tangled bathroom area looks so pretty at night! We had to take the ferry once on our trip (monorail was down) and it seemed like it took forever!! Made me glad we don't rent a car and drive to the MK. Ah, I wish I could take a feet-up ride on the Peoplemover right now.

I find that even on shorter trips, I try really hard not to focus on the fact that it's short. I try to slow down and just take it all in. I've found that it helps with everything feeling so manic.

Pink socks woo!!! The Peoplemover is the best when it's too crowded. Just a nice respite from the masses.

I am so ready to see the new Frozen segment, which BETTER still be on when I'm there in two weeks. Otherwise, I may go ballistic.

It's really hard to find the hidden Pascals at night. You've definitely got to do it in the day time.

I so agree with you about the Main Street Electrical Parade! I hate the music the most. If they could just not play the music, I could deal with it more. In fact, the music is stuck in my head right now! Grrr. I also don't like that Pete's Dragon float. Blah.

Love Frozen, can't wait to have it as part of my collection! I also love the Tangled bathrooms, but Kyle thinks they are just bathrooms and there is no need to hang around them.

I will message you on FB with my comparison on Clearwater vs Cocoa after the trip. I do like Cocoa. Most of the hotels are older but really affordable and right on the beach which is nice. I wouldn't do more than a 3 night stay. I think 2 days would be perfect because that way you get to checkout a sunrise as well and still sneak in a few days of Disney.

Just found your TR and enjoying it! We were there almost the exact same dates...we just came in a day before! I agree...I knew it would be busy...but the entire time we were there it was way busier than I ever thought it would be.

And like you, we had not seen Frozen before we came. I'm kind of glad...because if we had...I'm guessing my DD would want to stand in that 3 hour line to meet Elsa and Anna!!

Can't wait to read the rest!!

MK Saturday nights during party season are NO JOKE. It is overwhelming the amount of people crammed onto Main Street and the immediate surrounding areas!

The Tangled bathrooms are such an amazing little area, and I love seeing the lanterns all lit up at night! What a way to experience it all for the first time! This update made me open up iTunes to start listening to the Tangled soundtrack. :rotfl: This whole house is addicted to the Frozen soundtrack too right now. :thumbsup2 I was walking around work yesterday singing, "Do you wanna build a snowman." Seeing the Frozen portion of Celebrate the Magic would have been really fun!

I can't believe how late y'all stayed out considering how early you had gotten up that morning. :worship: I can understand on a short trip though feeling like you have to maximize every single moment of park time you possibly can!

That backstage walkway is pretty cool, especially when you want to avoid the madness of parade crowds.

You took the words out of my mouth with the Frozen segment on Celebrate the Magic. I heard it for the first time watching that show, and just thought, "Wow, that is fantastic." Then began humming it.
A pretty cool preview for the film and a great way to get people to go see the movie. :goodvibes

I can only imagine how tired you had to be by that point. Traveling, visiting Epcot, dinner at the Poly, then touring MK. You definitely weren't wasting your Disney time. :rotfl:
