My tree is up! What about yours?

No tree here not today tomorrow or christmas day not ever between the cats an gbabies I'd have ornaments everywhere but tree. DH hates the lights reflecting in the tv screen an never wants the lights on anyway so I have given up on trees an all the decor that goes with Christmas. It just a special day to spend with family here anyway.

ask your DH were his chrismas sprit is

Tenia I love it! And those are some BIG BALLS!

I am hoping your surgery goes smoothly and really hoping it's not intruding on your Black Friday plans!

I would put the tree up but first I have to shampoo the rugs. I am thinking it goes up the saturday after Thanksgiving. Or maybe on Thanksgiving.

respecting the holidays is something in your heart no? Not about what's sitting in your living room.

Hope your surgery goes well.. I dont blame you for putting it up... but not at our house... we always put ours up the day after thanksgiving... :)

I should have my up by tomorrow or next weekend.

Ok I am freaking out. does anyone see the face on the tree? in the middle right hand side? Please tell me it's a shadow.

We usually do our decorating Thanksgiving weekend. Though dh and I were talking tonight we're thinking of getting the stuff out of storage next weekend and doing it then.

Our outside lights went up last weekend, because the weather was so warm. However, they have not been lit up yet other than for a quick test. Those will start being lit up probably next weekend too.

We usually wait until Thanksgiving weekend, but this year SIL is getting married that weekend. We leave Black Friday for Colorado. Then we travel for Christmas from the 19th to the 26th. I love Christmas decorations and want to be able to enjoy them. Since we are going to celebrate Thanksgiving next weekend, we'll put up the tree and decor next Sunday!:thumbsup2

Best wishes for an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery.

I didn't notice it the first time I looked at it. After you mentioned it I saw it right away. It does look like a cat with a beret on! Maybe it's a picture hanging on there??

I saw the "face" on the tree the first time I looked at it, before I read any of the posts! I can't believe others see it there too. Got a few goosebumps in spite of myself.

But it is a very pretty tree, OP! We'll be setting our tree up this weekend since we'll be away from home over the holidays and want to have some time to enjoy it. I've never put it up this early before.
Good luck with your surgery.

I went back and noticed it to. It's just the way the lighting and the way branches the brancehs are shaped. If you look up and to the right of it, there's another face, kinda looks like a clown.

We won't be putting up a tree in our houset his year ..................

Cuz we'll be putting one up in our room at WDW!!!!! :woohoo::yay::banana:

I'm gonna get hacked open with gall bladder surgery so I got a jump on putting tree up. My first slim tree and I haven't found the right topper yet..or skirt....minus the junk not terrible i guess. please share yours

The "cat" on the middle right hand side is just a collection of lights, branches, and a ribbon winding under a large ornament. Lol i see it clearly now that it's pointed out!
:thumbsup2

LOL, whew, I was afraid maybe your Christmas tree was being haunted by a cat in a beret. I'm glad it's just an optical illusion. :rotfl:

I'm jealous

Last year I think I had some 4 trees up. I like to have at least one up early. I was going to go to a poinsettia farm on Friday and if so, would have put up my white tree with the Disney ornaments--but went to Epcot instead.

Where they had much of there Christmas decorations up along with Christmas music.

I see the cable music station is already set with Christmas music playing so all over that as well.

I am planning on ours going up the day after Thanksgiving---we always put it up by the end of Thanksgiving weekend. We also put up a birthday tree for MaddieMouse as her birthday is Christmas Day, and it gives her an extra feeling of being special because of it (not the other way around!) She has a pink sparkle tree with ornaments we've picked out based on what she loves that year (ducks, Hello Kitty, Cinderella, etc) with one special ornament every year, and her framed Christmas/birthday professional pic as well.

It's a bit of extra work but so worth it when I see her admiring her tree. Last year we spent Dec 20-30 at WDW so we lost out on a bit of the Christmas feeling at home. And now everyone's sad that we're not going again this year!

I have 6 Christmas trees and they will all wait till the day after Thanksgiving to be put up. They used to stay up until January 1st but I have been known to take them down the day after Christmas if they are bugging me LOL We live in a very dusty house now and I just can't seem to keep the dust off of everything and all the dust bunnies from underneath them.....so I try to limit how long they are up.

The tree is "technically" up, but it's not decorated. We had to get a new tree this year as our old one committed suicide last year after "only" twenty years of use. Dropped a branch right before Christmas and broke a few ornaments. Then, as we were taking it down three more branches decided to pop off. No way to fix it so this year, new tree.

We found the one we liked at BJ's and they only had 2. So we bought it last weekend, came home, put it up and tested it (prelit), made sure it would hold our topper and fluffed it out to make sure we liked it so if we had to exchange it we could before they ran out. Well, after all that was done, I said, "No way am I taking this thing down, shoving it back in the box and then redoing all of this in three weeks." So it's up, but I won't decorate it until Thanksgiving weekend, which is our tradition. But yes, the "tree" is up!

It's a sin before Thanksgivng is over. j/k

Mine goes up the Sat or Sun right after Thanksgiving.

We will be putting ours up soon, probably by next weekend. I love the whole getting the house ready for Christmas. We have a tradition of watching Christmas movies while we get the tree up, and it just helps put us all in the Christmas spirit! :santa:

I hope your surgery goes well! I had mine out back in 2001, and couldn't believe how much better I felt afterwards. I hope your recovery is as quick as mine, but do take it easy for awhile. A few days of rest can make a world of difference. Good luck!
