He has been on Gadget's Go Coaster and loved it, and is 36.5" tall, so I thought I would give it a try. Yesterday afternoon the line wasn't very long, so I talked it up while we were in line.

I held onto him tight and pretended like we were on a train, and when we got off, he wouldn't say if he liked it or not, but he had a spring in his step and eventually said "Rollercoaster again!"

:yay:

We were with 6 other toddlers, 6 moms, one BFF, one infant, and a grandma, so we didn't get to go on many rides in 3 days (I usually go on more rides in one day than I did on this trip!) but while the girls were getting the princess treatment, Mason and I rode the Matterhorn, a first for both of us!

I know what you mean about that "spring in their step" after riding it. My son is usually skipping for the next 10 minutes after getting off. It's an oldie but goody!:yay:

good to hear mine where 36" a couple months back at there dr appointment. we go in nov and are hoping they hit the 40" mark

Cool!

Wish my guy had enjoyed it. I didn't even think that morning, and wore one of my Disney sundresses, so DS sitting with me on the Matterhorn wasn't something I wanted to do in front of the hordes in line. Therefore, he ended up in the very front with DH, who is cuddly but perhaps less comforting, and DS just did not like it. Too bumpy, too shaky, and I don't think DH prepared him for Harold.

I'm glad your guy liked it (probably b/c he was with YOU!)!!

How cool!! I had no idea the height requirement was so low! My boys were 36" and 37.5" at their 2 yr appt!

oh cool ya my son loved it except the scary monster but he just said we had to hold him protect him lol. He loved space mountion looked at me out side said "can we go again pleaseee amam" i was like "omg you are my son" and laughed.. we said we would again later but ended up on the other side the park and that area got full fast so we didnt go back..but it was cool

Thats awsome! My DD is 2 1/2 and about 37 inches and I'm itching to take her on the Matterhorn. Daddy is a big chicken though and thinks its crazy to take her on and wont even ride it himself. But we're leaving Daddy at home for our trip in 3 weeks and we might just sneak on.

LOL dangerkittee.... i thiny my hubby would be the same way.... i keep thinking i wouldn't wanna take him to disneyland cause he won't wanna do any rides.... but he would love the floats and hes a people watcher so he would keep busy... i could probley bribe him on a few rides.... i would have to do the bigs ones first or i wouldn't get him on them :lmao:

Good for you all.......Mason is officially an "honorary hound".....when we're in that area, we "don't need no stinkin' princesses" ;)......Give us a knockwurst & two rides (one on each side) on the Matterhorn. :hippie:

That's so cool! I remember when both of my sons rode it for the first time... can't wait for DD to ride it this summer. We haven't been to DL as a family since the 50th, so she missed out back then...

My daughter first went on it when she was 2/almost 3. She's always been tiny for her age so I was shocked she met the height requirement. She LOVED it. We leave in less than a week and all she talks about is going on the Matterhorn. She's sure it's going to be her first ride. ;)

That is sooooo awesome, I am hoping my 3yo will like coasters when we go in September.

Too cool!! My girls first went on it in 06, my DD9 was scared but her sister DD6 was all for it. They rode together in the front car, DBF and I rode in the back car, we got off and they LOVED it and we went on it over and over and over that trip. LOL It remains one of their faves too, we like the FL side but will take either one.

that is so cool!
my dd is 3, and shes been bugging to get on the big rides. i didnt realize the height req. was so low for that one. hmmm... guess i better let her know. LOL

Those are all very brave little tot's, for when I was 9 years old, The Matterhorn, quite rather scared me, to say the least.
My face was whiter than usual ;) and my hands were almost frozen like, while holding on for what felt like dear life on the front of the ride.
Years later, I went on the Matterhorn again, and thought to myself, why did this seem so scary when I was 9? I figured it was simply a matter of not having been any older, and that was the first time that I had been on the ride, that is my defence anyway. ;)

Oh I totally missed this post I just started a thread about my kiddos too. They love these rides.

I love hearing these stories! We finally talked our 3 year old into Splash, Matterhorn, and Big Thunder in December - she was ecstatic! I don't even know how many times we were on it that week! I hadn't realized that the height for Space Mountain was the same (didn't even check, I thought that one was scary!) so we didn't go on it! In two days we'll be there and we're on it!

Our daughter turned 3 in October and is big for her age, but I don't think we'll make the height for Indiana or Screamin' by next October...
