My Thumb Sucker in Disney...

A knew a lady that had a daughter in my dd's class that bought these things that went over ther thumb and attached to her wrists and she wasn't able to suck her thumbs. It took a few weeks, but she stopped.

:scared1: I don't think I would ever do something that extreme...

I saw a little girl wearing these on a recent trip. They are white plastic and look just like a wrist brace with an extra thumb portion, they don't look scary at all.

Well OP I can say my ds sucks his thumb most of the day and did at Disney without fail and also hung all over the hand rails no matter how hard I tried to keep him away and HE DID NOT GET SICK! We did take wet wipes and tried to keep his hands/thumb as clean as possible but there are germs everywhere so what can you do :confused3

I was a thumb sucker and both of my kids suck their thumbs. Ds is the worst of the two. Both appear to have an over bite and will need braces. I didn't have any effects from thumb sucking on my teeth. My parents did everything to try and get me to stop and finally my dr told them to just leave me be and I'd stop when I was ready...and he was right I did! We've been on ds a bit more about not doing it so much. DD does it when she's tired or bored. I told her when she goes to kindergarten next year she can't do it in school as they do not allow that :rotfl: Our preschool teacher has tried to work with ds on his constant thumb sucking to no avail. he's going to be my challenge for sure.

Good luck..I sure hope your daughter doesn't get sick!
