My SW fare dropped, now what?

I booked our airfare this morning and when I checked them just now, our return flight dropped $10 a person. Not super huge but $40 could work out if we get a good DING. How do I go about getting the new price? Do I have to cancel and rebook? I booked both ways at the same time if that makes a difference. Also, what if I change them now, for my measly $40 and then tomorrow or next week, they go down again, can I keep rebooking as many times as necessary?

Just call the airline and explain. many times they will allow you to change within 24 hours. I have done this on both Southwest and Jetblue. Both allowed me to change it within 24 hours. The reason for my change was because my work had booked me on the wrong flight so I don't know if that makes a difference to the people on the phone but it can't hurt to ask.

Yes, you can keep rebooking at the lower rate. But you understand that you get a CREDIT on SW...not cash back....right? If your flight drops in price, you can always rebook and then have a credit for a future flight. The credit needs to be used within 1 year of the original booking date.

Yes...but don't you also have to pay a change fee once booked? On most airlines the change fee is somewhere around $50-$100 per ticket so if this is the case, the savings of $10 per seat would actually cost you the chage fee minus $10.

We just did this today as our southwest flight dropped $35 a ticket. DH went online and did it in our itinerary and "changed" our flight to the same flight and got a little over $100 in flight credit.

One of the great things about SW is that they do not charge you a change fee for changing your reservation. You can change your reservation as often as you like for free! :lovestruc
