DH and I were in the livingroom and heard this loud meow. Our cat Pearl does it frequently as her way of talking, but this wasn't her. He was seizing on the floor and his tounge turned purple. I called the vet to let them know we were going to be coming in with an emergency and as we were walking out the door he died
As far as we know he's been inside since 6PM last night because none of us let him out this morning. He was sleeping with DD when we woke up. Now he's gone and I just don't know how DD is going to take it.
It was the most horrible thing I've seen/heard being with him his last few minutes. He was so frightened and there was nothing we could do to help him.
I'm not going into work this afternoon and DH is off and will be picking DD up. We;ll all have a chance to say goodbye and bury him with our other beloved pets.
I'm so sad. I've never been with an animal when they've died and don't ever want to have to do it again.

he looks just like my little Phill. I'm so sorry.
I am glad that you were there with him in his final moments, though. I'm sure that that made him less scared.
I lost my fur baby Charlie last year and still cry when I think of him...which is often. Our kitty Sampie was poisoned by a houseplant this weekend while at a relatives house and I was terrified! Thank God he was ok after some medication from the vet. They do touch our hearts and souls don't they. I'm so sorry you had to witness his death....I'm sure you being there with him though made it easier for him. I don't know how old your DD is, but when Charlie died last year, I bought the book "Cat Heaven" for my dd4 and it was wonderful for her.
