..to NOT go on a diet. Diets never ever ever work for me! The word itself makes me psyche myself out into ALWAYS being hungry. I've done south beach and the like, and certain foods being off-limits just makes me want them more! Too much too fast. The only thing that has ever worked for me was weight watchers, but I got lazy with the calculations after a while and wasn't a fan of the public weigh-ins. So this time, nothing is off-limits! Yes to chocolate cake and french fries! But, just a small serving, and once or twice a week instead of 5 or 6! Everything will be in moderation and I will stay within my loseit.com calorie guidelines.

This moderation includes exercise. Hubby and I found TONS of exercise videos on netflix instant, and have started doing the quick 10 minute workouts and some yoga. This is perfect, because with classes at the gym I always felt SO embarrassed and discouraged when I was 5 minutes in and already out of breath. These let me go at my own pace at home - break a sweat and get my heart pumping to start improving my stamina. So far I've felt good afterwords - not awful and exhausted!

I'm aiming for 1-2 lbs a week. I'm 5'6", 285, and want to start out by losing an even 100 to be 185. (I realize that still may not be a "healty" BMI, but it would be a HUGE step for me). This time, I want it to come off slowly and stay off! Honestly, ANY loss will be a WIN and I will not get discouraged if I fall off the wagon. I will simply dust myself off, have a laugh, and hop back on. It'll just be "oopsie" instead of "oh I give up!"

So, come laugh with me! I've had a very difficult year and the one thing I've learned is that life is much, much too short to take yourself too seriously :rotfl:

i  your attitude and :welcome: to WISH!

i think you have a great plan to implement changes for a healthy lifestyle and that is the key! i HATE the 'd' word too!

It's no coincidence the first three letters in the "D" word are D-I-E :lmao: I'll definitely be following along with you, and can't wait to hear more!

One of my favorite quotes from (I think) Brandon Gill is "Not a shred of evidence exists in favor of the idea that life is serious." Thought you might enjoy that! :)
