DD11 has started 6th grade this year in a new school. On the first day of orientation, the people showed the students where the detention trailer was.
Funny thing is, when I was in 6th grade, there was no detention, there was you being sent home or the paddle.
In 11th grade I was in detention for a glorious 3 days. My crime?
Well, I went to 2 different schools in 11th and 12th grade, a couple core classes in regular high then 2 classes in a magnet school.
My one main class in magnet was child care. One time we had a substitute teacher and she used to apparently be a drill sargent, no reallly she was in the military then she retired and became a teacher.
Well, she had us do things as if the kids were in the class, but it wasnt a kid class day. So we had to read baby books to the other students and it was just whack.
So, one day, a student came outside and told us that the crazy teacher was there. All of us decided not to go in. And we could have gotten away with it except this one student. There were times that the other students who also went to different schools didn't come because of the main school had a function, etc.
3 days in the main schools ISS. The teacher asked us why we were there and what we learned from it. It wasn't bad at all, except, when we went back to the magnet school, our regular teacher wasn't happy.
