My sister's going to be a CM-I gotta go visit her! TR LINK UP! p. 21

Congrats to your Brewers! We are Rangers fans around here and they won the AL West, so there is reason to celebrate here too :thumbsup2

Day 1 plans sound good. I'm not too excited about the Avatar land thing either, but I do get the AK tie in since there was originally supposed to be a mythical creatures land. Still don't like the idea though.....

Since you'll have a pretty early start to the day, I'd lean towards going back to SSR after AK and just grabbing something to eat in DTD.

Love your new Vera bag, it that the usual size that you carry to the parks? I really liked all of the new patterns, but when I went to check them out I just didn't find something that I needed.

I think starting at the AK will be perfect, since that is your favorite park. I know nothing about Avatar, so was not excited about the announcement. Wonder what people in general think about it?

Go Brewers!

Your new purchases are so cute! I love the Brewers shirts, congrats :thumbsup2 I'll be rooting for them in the playoffs :) I'm a Mets fan so there is no way I'll be cheering on the Phillies or Braves, haha.

I love your first day plans! Those pictures are making me excited for you! Ah, I know, the new Avatar land seems like it's Disney's answer to WWoHP :( To me, Avatar isn't legendary like Harry Potter (and Star Wars is another example) is and will people really care about it in 10+ years?

I looove AK, so I think any day is a good day for it! :thumbsup2

It's probably best to check out Food and Wine on a non-Saturday though so if you're interested you may want to keep that in mind.

I'm not a fan of the AVATAR land idea either. What was wrong with Beastly Kingdom idea?!?!:confused3

Love hearing about the first day plans :) I'm with you on the not liking to get up early, but knowing you're going to Disney makes it alright somehow. We always get the earliest flight available, and saying I'm not a morning person would be an understatement, but when the alarm goes off on flight morning I jump out of bed so fast! I have to force myself to go to sleep the night before so time can go by quickly.

For the evening plans I'd keep the plans open and go with the flow. I've never been to the F & W festival so I'd probably head over to Epcot.

I guess I'm the odd one out here, but I really really like Avatar, and if they do it right the new 'land' could be so awesome. I'm a sci-fi/fantasy lover though.

I love those pictures you keep posting from "Simple Things Disney"...I loved the monorail one you used on page one and they're all just adorable!!

People give AK such a hard time but we love it there so that's an awesome place to start your trip off! Really, I'm sure you are just going to be excited to see your sister AND be in WDW so you won't care where you are lol

I love your new Vera! The winter patterns are so cute.

Your first day plans sound great. I'm glad Chick Fil A will be open for your traditional stop. I always seem to want to eat there on Sundays.

AK in the afternoon sounds awesome, I bet it'll be nice being there when it's not so hot and crowded. That Avatar themed land really does sound like a bad idea. I kind of thought the Avatar craze was over with anyways, so I was surprised to hear they were doing that.:confused3

Sounds like a fun first day. I think playing the evening by ear sounds like a wise idea. Tromping around EPCOT would not be fun if you're already exhausted from your early morning.

I also don't quite see how Avatar fits with the Animal Kingdom, but I haven't seen the movie either so I guess it's hard to judge at this point. :confused3

Love the new Vera! :thumbsup2

Day 1 plans sound great!

As for the Avatar land, I haven't seen the movie either. I can see how it would fit best at AK than any other park due to the mythical land that AK was supposed to have. You know that Disney will do it well though so I don't think you have anything to worry about. :goodvibes

I heard about the Avatar themed land at Animal Kingdom. I do think it's a counter to WWoHP, but I'm kind of excited about it. I think it's the answer to the mythical land that they originally planned. If you haven't seen the movie, I would suggest it. It's visually very pretty and if they execute it well, it may turn out to be cool.

I will say it should be interesting once it's completed. But I don't think it's going to be for another few years?

great first day plans!!!!! I love those random excited pics!!!

Thanks-I love the Simple Disney Things pictures!

Awesome about the Rangers. I really don't pay attention to the American League that much-the only thing I know right now is that the wildcard is a tight race! LOL.

I understand why they want to do it but I guess I just don't want them to change DAK.

Yep, I always use the hipster. It's such a great size and I love that it's one of the crossbody styles. It'll probably be my last Vera for a while though...:rolleyes1

It seems like there's sort of a mixed reaction among Disney fans.

Your new purchases are so cute! I love the Brewers shirts, congrats :thumbsup2 I'll be rooting for them in the playoffs :) I'm a Mets fan so there is no way I'll be cheering on the Phillies or Braves, haha.

haha, I'm glad you won't be cheering for the Phillies-to me they are becoming the Yankees of the NL. :crazy2: And it's looking like you won't have to worry about the Braves seeing as they blew their wildcard lead. I'm not happy about that because I don't like the Cardinals.

Aww, glad you liked the pictures. They get me excited too-the person who does that blog has so many cute ones I started saving them on my computer. :rolleyes1

I totally agree about any day being a good day for the Animal Kingdom!

Yeah, it's going to be really hard to find a good time to go to Epcot this trip. We are expecting it to be packed no matter when we go.

Again, I agree! If they would've announced plans for Beastly Kingdom I would've been fine with it. Maybe because Avatar isn't Disney.

Yes, and it's always nice to have a little more time in Disney. Especially when this is going to be such a quick trip.

I'll be curious to see what the land turns out like. I'm sure I won't appreciate it though like I did with WWOHP. Maybe when the time comes I'll break down and see the movie.

I love those pictures you keep posting from "Simple Things Disney"...I loved the monorail one you used on page one and they're all just adorable!!

Thanks! My sister posted a bunch of those Simple Disney Things on her CP blog so now I have it bookmarked as a favorite site. So many cute pictures.

haha, that is true! Hopefully my sister will feel the same way-she is not as big of a fan of DAK as I am.

I love your new Vera! The winter patterns are so cute.

Thanks! All the patterns were really pretty but then again when are they not?

haha, I'm glad Chick-Fil-A will be open too. Yum!

Yeah, we've always had really good luck visiting the Animal Kingdom in the afternoon and now that it's open until 7 pm instead of 5 we should be able to do a lot.

I found your new PTR! YAAAYY! :goodvibes I'm going back to catch up now!

Yay, welcome! :wave2:

Yes, and if it's going to be really busy with all the F&WF stuff I'd rather wait. We'll see though.

Love the new Vera! :thumbsup2

I sure hope it turns out well. I wonder where it's going to be.

Your first day plans are great! I really like the idea of starting in Animal Kingdom. It's so relaxed and pretty.

I'm not sold on Avatar land at all and I'm still holding out for the whole thing to be a cover up for Studio Ghibli Land. It could happen! Disney would have to actually acknowledge the Miyazaki films, though. A catbus ride through Japan with all the mythical creatures featured in the Ghibli movies (look, adding in Beastly Kingdom too! Call me, Disney!) would be amazing!

Yay on getting a new VB bag! :thumbsup2

Great first day plans - I totally understand your love for AK after our visit. I heard about the Avatar themed land whilst at Disney and don't think many people are too pleased about the news.

Great plans you have right there, Sarah! I actually have to differ on your opinion of the new Avatar Land. I'm really excited. If you haven't seen the movie you wouldn't understand. Though it would've been nice to have a Beastly Kingdom, this totally works. See, the Naavi (Avatar people) have a very deep connection with nature and it's emphasized throughout the movie and the whole movie is out in an other-wordly wilderness and I think it suffices for Beastly Kingdom in that way. It will be like the fourth dimension of Animal Kingdom, being a bit more different, but still keeping with the theme. Like, I love DAK as is, but this will also help open up the park a bit more as I see it, since there is tons of room for building it with Beastly Kingdom out the door, so while it is kind of shocking and different, I'm very eager to enjoy it when it opens :thumbsup2

Yeesh - How did I not find this sooner???? I need to catch up!

But since I'm here - 4 for 4 for our WI teams!!! Woot! :woohoo:

I hope I don't sound stupid, but what is Studio Ghibli? :confused3

Yeah, I might have a different opinion if I had any clue what the movie was about. So for right now I still am not too fond of the idea.

Hi Joy, glad you found me. :)

Yes, but I only care for 3 of the 4 wins...:rolleyes1 I'm going to replace UW's win with Michigan's win over Minnesota. :thumbsup2

I guess I've missed something, do many people actually dislike Animal Kingdom? If so I must put in my vote, my mother and I love it! I did read in one of my books, that if you rush through you'll miss so much, perhaps these dislikers are on hyper Disney speed and feel like they must rush everywhere. Animal Kingdom is such a difference pace than the other parks.

I hope I don't sound stupid, but what is Studio Ghibli? :confused3

I'm not the OP of the comment but I can answer that question.

Studio Ghibli is a Japanese animated movie studio/company. They are very well known and their films are highly acclaimed. Disney has the release rights for them in North America. Here are a few of their films: My Neighbour Totoro, Spirited Away, Castle in the Sky, Kiki's Delivery Service, Princess Mononoke. There are many more!
