I'm glad Sis got her vacation days approved, that was quick! I did the same thing as soon as I started and it's so easy to do online and see when it's submitted and approved I'm sure by Oct she will be ready to leave her apt for a few days and stay with you. I always loved with my parents came..and still do haha! I hope work is going well for her!

Like my dad said I don't think she'll be staying with us at the resort but it'll be nice to spend some time with her for a couple days.

Aww, thanks! We have been so spoiled with DVC. I still can't believe how many of the resorts we've gotten to stay at.

Where have you been reading about MNSSHP? I'm getting impatient, I can't wait for the first party to happen so we can start reading reports about it!

My parents and sister raved about it after their stay at the BW. I know it's going to be amazing.

I saw something posted on facebook that had "new and notable" things for the party. I was just looking at that and picking out things I want to do.

Congratulations on switching to the BoardWalk! It looks so much fun there and you are so close to places like EPCOT, with a boat to DHS and then you have the restaurants at the neighboring BoardWalk resorts like Beaches & Cream... Mmmmm...

That's exactly why I wanted to stay there. It is such a great location. I really can't wait to step outside for the first time and see the other resorts/restaurants right there. Ahhh I can't wait and I still have our October trip first!

So happy for you, I just love the boardwalk area. I have seen the DVC rooms, there is usually an open house, and I have done a walk through. I think you will just love it. So much to look forward to with two trips.
My suggestion for MNSSHP is to see some of the characters dressed in costume, wear costumes with your family. And don't wait in candy lines, as they disappear as the night goes on....... It goes without saying that you should not miss the parade or fireworks.

Yes, I am definitely planning on seeing some of the characters. I can't believe we didn't do that last time we went! I'm prepared to leave the parade with the song stuck in my head. haha

I don't think Emma will be staying with us. We're only going to have a studio and that's not really big enough for 4 adults. She probably would prefer her apartment to sharing a sleeper sofa with her sister.

I don't want to share a sleeper sofa...

Sarah, that's awesome that you got BWV! I'm jealous already! I've never stayed there, but it's on my list of places I want to try (ok, with every other Disney resort, but this one is closer to the top).

And great that Emma got the days off she requested so you can spend time with her on your trip!

First, congrats to your sister for getting DHS! I hope she's a gangster in TGMR!

Second, for your spring break trip! And double for getting to stay at BWV! DH & I stayed there last year on our 1st wedding anniversary and it was fabulous! You are going to have a great time there especially with walking distance to DHS & Epcot!

I agree, the Boardwalk is amazing! I really don't know if I could pick a favorite DVC resort because I've loved all the ones we've stayed at. Each one is unique which makes it so much fun. As for non-DVC, that's an easy one-definitely the Polynesian! We used to stay there all the time when we were little and we all just love it. My dad is the one who technically owns our DVC but so far it's definitely been worth it for us and we've only been members for 5 years. As much as I love the Poly it's amazing how much it costs there!

Yes, it is a great investment if you like going to Disney World. It does sound like they're going to be adding DVC units at the Grand Floridian which would be amazing. I wish they would add some at the Polynesian now!

So does anybody know what is happening tonight in Disney World? If you guessed it's the night of the first Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party of the season, you'd be correct!

In honor of the first night of the party, I thought I'd share some plans for things I want to do. I was going to wait a little longer but I'm sort of in a Halloween mood, especially after my sister got to attend a preview of the Halloween parade the other day. I really cannot wait to go to this event again!

Sarah's MNSSHP Plans!

First of all, here are some of the basics for the night we are attending.

WHEN: October 30, 2011...perfect way to celebrate Halloween (which is funny because I normally don't even care for the holiday...but add a little bit of Disney and it's all good. haha)

WHO: Me, Dad, Mom, and Emma...I bought my ticket a few weeks ago and Dad just got his too. Then I found out Emma is going to come, which means Mom will be coming too (I don't think she really wanted to at first).

Now for the plans. A couple weeks ago I saw something on facebook that listed all of the "New and Notable" things for the party (on this page). I've been looking at it ever since and trying to pick out the things that I really want to do since there's no way we'll be able to do everything. Like we've done for the parties we've attended before, I know we'll get there early (around 4:00 or so). We've found that those couple hours before the party are great for doing some of the attractions and then once the party officially starts we can enjoy the exclusive entertainment.

CHARACTERS
One of the fun things about the parties is getting to see characters you normally don't see. Sadly, the last time we went to MNSSHP we really didn't take advantage of that. Here are the characters I would like to meet this time:

■7 Dwarfs
■Tinker Bell and Disney Fairies
■Aladdin, Jasmine, Genie and Abu
■Tarzan, Jane and Terk
■Mickey and Minnie...I know you can see them all the time but I think they dress up in Halloween costumes! How adorable would that be?!

I know the characters are a big attraction so I may have to narrow that list down even more otherwise I'll be standing around in line all night!

SPECIAL ENTERTAINMENT
■Happy Hallo’Wishes’...definitely not going to miss this! I remember it was pretty cool.
■Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade...there are two parades. We're going to plan on seeing the later one so we can spend more time doing rides/meeting characters/etc. Plus it seems like a lot of people, especially with smaller kids, leave after the first one/fireworks (atleast they did at the Christmas party...). I can't wait to see the Headless Horseman. And I know I'm going to leave with the "Boo to You" song stuck in my head.

I know there's also the Villains show at the castle which could be interesting.

TREAT TRAILS (Candy Stations)
Getting candy isn't really a priority but I would like to get some.

I've also seen some cool photo opportunities too, like one near the Haunted Mansion:

I think that's it for now. I'm sure once the parties actually start I'll see more stuff I want to do. I'm still trying to decide if I want to dress up. Maybe I'll ask Emma. I suppose I could be completely unoriginal and bring my Aaron Rodgers jersey (since it'll be a Sunday anyway...haha). We'll see!

Mickey and Minnie look so cute in their Halloween costumes!!!! You're going to have so much fun! Makes me want to see it for myself even more! The picture with you guys in front of Cindarella's carriage gave me a flashback to my first trip when I was six years old watching a parade, I remember how awesome the carriage looked, I was in awe of the detail on everything. Ahhh memories

Oh, the Halloween party looks like so much fun! I can't wait to hear all about it! That's definitely one of the things I'm looking forward to the most on our Disneymoon next year.

I've heard the Boo to You parade is the best one Disney has and I hope you're able to catch a picture of the Headless Horseman!

I can't wait to go to MNSSHP either!!! It looks like it is going to be SO much fun! I was stalking the live report thread last night, and telling my DH about it and guess what he said? "Are we going to go to any of the Halloween-y things?" SERIOUSLY? Been planning this trip since January, and he still has no idea what we're doing!

Anyway, I can't wait to see the parade, the fireworks, and the characters, especially the villains and Mickey and Minnie in their costumes!
