My real name is.....

Kelly Jane here. I don't mind Kelly, but hate Jane paired with it. It sounds so countrified

My birth name is actually AlabamaFloyd..I just thought Alan sounded better for a screen name.

Sheila! I was named after a girl my dad had a crush on in elementary school!

Melinda -- my parents liked the names Melissa and Linda, but thought both were too original. So they went with Melinda, which is like a combination of both names. If I had a dollar for everytime I've been called Melissa by teachers (or anyone else for that matter), I'd be rich.

I do like my first name. I've always hated my middle name though. :crazy2:

Carol Jane here....when I was born my sisters and brother were much older...10,12,14 so my dad sat them in separate rooms with paper and pen and asked them to write 3 name suggestions...
the names Carol and Jane were on all 3 papers in some form or other...so I became Carol Jane.......

I actually still have 2 of the 3 papers 42 years later.... :)

Tina Louise here named after one of the stars on Gilligan's Island (what was my mother thinking??)

Eric...Just Eric. No middle name. My parents couldn't decide between Christopher Eric (my dad's choice) or Charles Eric (my dad's name was Charles), so they got rid of the first name altogether and just stuck with Eric. Of the 342 in my graduating class from high school, I was the only one with no middle name. :teeth: The standardized tests you have to take in school always hated me (I think I'm the reason they now have blanks as an option ;) ).

My real name is Kat, short for Katherine. I bet you couldn't figure that out from my user name. :)

Robyn--supposed to be able to sing like the bird, they added a "y" to be different. oh, and for the record, can't carry a tune in a bucket. :rolleyes1

My name is Marie. My Mom got to name the boys and my Dad named the girls. No dead relative story or funny tale about my name. He just thought the name Marie was pretty. :flower: Lots of people call me Maria by accident, and I'll answer to it. ;)

...also Katrina.

Heard lots of jokes as she was still over the water. None since. :(

Of course I find I no longer have to spell my name for anyone.......

I was named after the heroine in my mom's favorite book growing up....it was a book of Russian fairy tales and the heroine was Princess Katrina princess:

She didn't tell me that story until I was in my 20's. :confused3 I'd grown up hating the name 'cause it was so unusual (at least where I grew up). Maybe if she'd told me sooner, I might have liked it. Think it's fine now :)

My SIL named her dog Zach. After 3 or 4 yrs she had a son and named him Zachary and...

changed the dog's name!

I still would never call the dog by any other name just out of habit.

Christine Delite... yes Delite...

Mom had some miscarriages and my older brother died of SIDS so when I came along... they were 'so delighted'... hence my middle name..

Of course, I hated it growing up (Remember the Starland Vocal Band's Afternoon Delight...) ugh, the grief I endured!

My name is Lisa....
And I am named after a Playboy Bunny. Honest. My dad told me that. I tried to find her in some old Playboy magazines published around the time I was born, but couldn't....
Please oh please tag fairy, don't see this post. :earseek:

my name is cynthia belle....i go by cyndi...or cyndibelle of course...dont know where my first name came from but my middle name is also my moms...and now my daughters... :lovestruc

Big Surprise I know. My name is Dawn. Middle name is Julia. Now Julia is different with Dawn.
