My POP Century review with pics (10/11-10/16)

We just got back yesterday. I thought that the room was fine. It wasn't fancy but we just slept there! The toilets were quite 'powerful' but it didn't keep us up (we were exhausted every night!). We were near the 80's pool and did hear a little noise but not too bad. Our only complaint was that the food in the food court was terrible! And very expensive. Everything was very bland.

Were your beds okay, or did you have issues with the bedsprings as well? I wonder if they are planning on replacing the mattresses any time soon.

I admit to having VERY simple tastes, but I loved the food in the food court. Everything I ate was great. Sorry to hear you didn't like it.

We stayed at Pop a week ago and it was our first time onsite. We loved staying on property but did find it a bit chaotic, not always noisy but just seemed that the 'groovy' decor gave an athmosphere of caos!

We had a king size accessable room.

I am going to ask for a room on the back side of the center court areas. I have requested a king room. My DH is 6'4 and we do not fit in a double. This is our anniversary trip

When we stayed at POP before we never toured the hotel. I guess I never realized there was a lake back there. My dd's keep me too busy. It is really pretty. I will have to check it out this trip

ely3857...this is probably going to sound dumb, but, wasn't the bathroom floor always wet when you showered? It seems like it would be.

Just back from POP Oct. 15-21. We thought the Bus service was better than WL or POFQ. The rooms are small, but we don't spend any time there!! We had plenty of drawer space, and I was really worried about this.

I was glad that we did not pay for a preferred room, as I did notice that the pool areas were noisy. We had a nice quiet parking lot view in the 50's. We tour hard all day, when we get back we want to go to sleep, not hear music from the pool!

We were at POP the end of Sept. We had a great location. 50's section, 4th floor, overlooking the parking lot but with a view of the EPCOT ball and the fireworks at Epcot at night. LOVED IT. It was even quiet. We thought the beds were good (even if they were just double beds). They weren't fantastic, but good. Yes, the POP is large, lots of people, lots of action, but it is great for kids....epecially that kiddie pool!

The buildings opposite are the unfinished buildings. The initial plan was to build two sections (set out like the All Star Resorts, each with individual food courts and check in areas), one called the Classic Years, and one called the Legendary years.

However due to the downturn in tourism (or so I'm told), Disney have put the construction work on hold. There is now talk of building something similar to the family suites in All Star Sports - which IMO would be a great use of the buildings.

POP is a wonderful resort, we prefer it to the mods. Ask me again in 3 years and Ill tell you whether I prefer it to the Deluxes too

The beds were ok. I didn't have anything poking out (always a relief!). I brought my own pillow so that probably helped.
