until they are done watching the Yankee/Sox game tonight!! They moved all the furniture today, but are leaving their TV and two lazy boys for the new owners. Told them they can't move in until tomorrow! The owners agreed because parents are also leaving them tons of other stuff. tools, patio set, other furniture etc. They are a family with 3 kids currently living in a 3 room apartment. My Mom says it makes her feel good to leave them stuff.

Their new place is still being built and the place they are staying does not have cable.

That's very nice of them to leave all that good stuff for some people that could make use of it. Sound like good people.

How kind of them to leave all of that sruff. All the best to them in their new home!

Awww, that is so sweet, Kallison. I bet its really bittersweet for them to be moving out of their home of 56 years. May they have much happiness in their new home. :)

ouch! no cable?!

Congrats to them on their new home. How soon 'til they move into the new house?

That's so sweet! They've found a special way for them to spend their last night there. I agree...they're very nice to leave things for the people coming in! Good luck to them in their new home.

minniecarousel...We've been living without cable THREE months now! :teeth: And basically no TV! :teeth: DS watches his DVDs and that's about it. He gets a few stations on the 13" TV in his room. But the one in the living room is strictly DVDs and tapes right now. ;)

YIKES! I just saw your siggie photo! Your youngest boy looks like my DS almost exactly! That was freaky!

Here...have a look! This is the best pic I have at this instant, but you gotta trust me on this one! TWINS!

Don't mean to sound alarmed, but I just wasn't expecting my DS's face to be looking out at me from someone else's post!

We had to clean out my Dad's house this year after he died in January. My brother lived with him, but he could not afford to keep up the house himself. My brother took most of the furniture to his new apartment, but we left loads of stuff for the new owners,,refrigerators (2), dehumidifier, workbench with most of my Dad's tools, washer & dryer, outside shed with most of his tools, 3 chests of drawers in the finished basement, my dad's dart game set, lots of wall clocks, etc., most window treatments. I found out later after the closing that the new owner complained that we did not leave the electric lawn mower...
I thought we left more than we should have....

Their new condo should be ready in mid-August. They will be moving the next town over -- which is a BIG deal, they've lived in the same town and their parents lived in the same town their entire lives.

They are not sad at all, I kept asking them and they are like no way. They want the simple life, no lawn, not much to clean. Even parting with their stuff wasn't that hard, whatever I didn't want they sold to the antique store, although I'm now regretting leaving some stuff of my grandparents.

I was never happy when we moved into my grandparents house in the 5th grade so it never really hit me, until my last visit on Monday, then I did a slow walk through. My kids are the most upset, they loved to visit and go into the attic and all the secret basement rooms. Always came home with a treasure. My son found a telephone switchboard box where you plug in a cord to make calls that he took on Monday. I couldn't believe he was still finding stuff!
