Anyone have a recommendation for a good, relatively inexpensive dryer? Or know of any deals or coupons at either Home Depot or Lowes?? This is about the last thing I feel like spending my tax return on... but it must be done. I currently have wet laundry spread out all over my house. There is nowhere to sit. :laundy:

I feel your pain!! We just got our new washer and dryer after being without a working dryer for almost 2 weeks! I made a make shift drying rack and had clothes everywhere!!

Lowes has their credit card, no interest for 12 months and 10% off... Not that I am one for cc's but for the 10% off we went ahead and got one, will pay it off and cancle the card.

Also talking to the sales women there, she showed us floor modles, or just ones that got damaged (scrach or small dent) that they sell for $$$ off, so if you don't mind if there is a ding on it, it might save you some.

Good luck!

I buy appliances at Sears outlets, scratch and dent type thing. Locations are on their website, they move around so it is always good to check. You can even call to ask if they have a particular model.......... many units have no flaws, dents, etc either. Some only have small flaw on the side, where no one even see it. They come with the original full warranty so no real risk. It allows me to buy nicer better applicances for price of a lower quality one.

Our Local Boyscouts Is Doing The Scout Expo Ticket Sales Right Now. That Is A Discount Coupon Sheet In Case You Don't Know. Home Depot Has A Coupon On There So You Might Want To Check Around With Local Boyscouts And See If That Is An Option For You.

Drivendisney - Did you get the 10% off at Loews for opening up a credit card. We need a new frig, dryer, grill and patio furniture. (Just moved)

Anyone ever get a floor model before and not have problems. I wouldn't mind getting a dryer floor model - nobody will see it but me!

We get most of our appliances at the Sears scratch and dent. We have found their prices to be really reasonable. In the case of our fridge, we were missing a couple accessories and a quick call to Maytag had them sent to us for free.

We did buy our new stove at Lowe's. No discount coupon, but DH took in the online pricing we had found and they actually beat the best online delivered price. We saved a few hundred dollars. It's worth asking!

go into your post office and see if they have any of those packets with the change of address forms and coupons sitting out. Home Depot often puts coupons in there. Also do an internet and Google search, because occassionaly you will find printable coupons.

Also remember, both Home Depot and Lowes accept competitor coupons.

If nothing else, you can buy them on EBAY for a couple of bucks.

Our Home Depot was offering 0% interest for 12 months with purchases over $299. We had to buy a new washer in Oct so I know what you are going through also:thumbsup2

If you are military then Lowe's offers 10% off any purchases for active duty military members. :thumbsup2

We love Lowe's!

I feel your pain.. my washer broke a few days ago.. I have posted on freecycle and been looking on craigslist. We also have a local scratch and dent place where you can pick one up cheap.

DH thinks he knows the problem and is going to look for the part tonight. Yesterday I spent all day running back and forth to my aunts using her machine.

Our refrigerator died last August. We went to Home Depot because we needed one the same day. We saw a floor model we liked, but it had a few scratches. It was originally $1595 and was marked $600. I suggested going to another Home Depot in the area. They had one there marked down to $1195. My husband asked to speak to the manager about the price. He told him about the one in the other store and the manager said he would see what he could do. He came back and said this one was perfect and the other one had damage, so the best he could do was $800. I could not believe it and we grabbed the deal. We have never done any wheeling-dealing before, but it worked. It was the exact model I wanted. You might want to get up your nerve and give it a try if you see anything you like!

Oh, I forgot to mention there was a mail in rebate for a $100 Home Depot gift card.

If you are moving, you can sign up for a 10% off Lowes coupon that will be emailed to you. I don't really know how they verify if you are moving. I signed up and received mine within 2 days via email.
