DH and I had a new couch delived on Saturday. OMG... it is so uncomfortable...nothing like it was in the showroom. Now I know it may need some time to be "broken in" but we can't sit on for more then 5 minutes to get it broken in. It's that bad.

Uggg... I'm waiting for a call from the store :guilty:

Anyone ever have this problem?

I can totally sympathize! DH & I bought a couch a couple of years ago that we just loathe. It's the most uncomfortable thing to sit or lie on; I'd rather sit on a hard wooden dining chair. It took us a couple of months or so, though, to realize how much we hated it, so by then we were stuck with it!

Good luck...I hope you'll be able to exchange your couch for a comfier style!

Well, the store called back. They are going to send someone out to look at it on Thursday. They did say we could exchange it if we wanted but we would have to do it right away. I think I'm going up there to see if they have anything else.

I just got a new couch a couple weeks ago ~ its horrible. Its one of those MicroSuede ones ~ it's hard as a rock and its got a serious Static Electricity problem.
I'm hoping that I can break it in soon ~ but that might be tough since no one will sit on it.....my kids won't even sit on it :rotfl2:

That's the problem... I can't sit on it long enough to break it in. My back is killlllling me

I hate my couch too! It is actually comfortable for sitting, but forget trying to lie down or relax at all. I thought it was what I wanted, but I sure miss my big overstuffed couch. This one is much more proportional to the room, and I thought it was what I wanted, but it sure isn't comfortable.

We've had ours for almost two years now. Do what you can to get a replacement because I still mourn my old one. I'm having surgery soon and one of the first things I thought (weird I know) was that I wished I had my old couch to lounge on while recovering.

I have the oppsite problem. The family room sectional is TOO comfortable, so everyone lies down and falls asleep on it. I have to have it recovered every 2 years or so because of the constant wear. I've taken to covering the cushions with sheets that I can wash every week.

It fits the space exactly, so I can never replace it. (Plus, my family would never forgive me.) :rotfl:

Now, on the other hand, the living room couch is just for show. :rotfl:

I don't have a microfiber couch, but when we were couch shopping it seemed that they were stuffed differently and were stiffer and not as comfortable. Can you put it in a location were guests sit? ;) Hopefully you can pick something else out without it being a hassle--what a pain, literally. Good luck!

I agree--our family room sectional is also so comfortable and I can see the wear. We love it, though, even though it takes up the whole room and fits our whole family, including a dog or 2.

You can come on down to my house if you want and fall asleep on my couch while you're waiting for your new couch. You can even bring your dog, but remember, my dog has bigger horns...

:rotfl2: But my dog snores louder then yours!!!

You can come sprawl on our couch, but you'll have to fight off me, DH, DS, the 3 cats, and the neighbor's dog. :rotfl:

We had the same problem. I let DS jump on it till it "softend up" a bit.

Only problem now is we can't get him to quit! :teeth:

Maybe, but my dog's farts are smellier than your dog's farts. Trust me on that one. :faint: Every night during prime time tv--just call them prime time farts. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: You win!!!

That's wacky. We bought a couch and loveseat from Kittles last year. The main reason we bought them was because the floor model was super comfortable as well as nice looking. A lot of couches we liked the look of weren't nice to sit or lay on at all. The floor model was a leather couch, and we opted for microfiber. It took a few months for them to arrive, but they are wonderful and well worth the wait!

I'm glad the store's having someone check it out. Maybe they stuffed it with the wrong stuffing?
