My MIL & FIL cleaned out my fridge!

and my microwave and lazy susan too! I mean they took everything out and washed all the shelves etc. She was so worried that I would be offended. She should know me better than that! They were staying with us for a few days and decided to do this while I was at work to help me out. I was a little embarrassed because the fridge really needed to be cleaned but I know they only did it to help me and not to make me feel uncomfortable. I just can't believe how sweet they are to me. They both said they know how busy DH and I are at work and they thought they could help out a little so we'd have more time to relax with DS etc. I seriously couldn't ask for better inlaws.

Sheesh, can I borrow your in-laws for a week or two? My in-laws have no use for me even after 16 years. I tried for the first 11 years, but gave up. I'd love to have some nice ones for a change!!

You reacted to what they did in a great way, others would take it as "meddling" and be upset. It's nice that you have a great relationship with your in-laws, and it's nice that they feel comfortable enough in your home to do something like that. I would have felt appreciative to them, as you did. I had a great relationship with my MIL too, but she passed away three years ago after a long and brave fight against ALS. I like my FIL, but we're not close and he has since remarried. I still miss my MIL, she was one great lady!

Once my mom and dad did that for me while we were on a vacation. Cleaned the kitchen **** and span!!

It sounds like you have great inlaws. I think the cleaning the fridge etc. was a great choice of a way to help. If they had cleaned your linen closet or something it could have been seen as invasive.
