Congrats! It's such a good feeling when you start to notice the changes in your body!

I noticed the wii fit is one pound heavier, than my Dr's office, and my scale at work and my scale upstairs. Great job on the weight loss.

I hurt my knee to day, just going upstairs and turning around and coming back downstairs. I think my knee didn't come along with me. My Dr. warned me, I am too heavy to be running. So I don't know if it was from my weight, or it twisted wrong.

When I was doing my running this week,
I was asking myself,
do you run if you are hurting, or is it a (head) thing that makes you stop running.

Oh, I forgot, we are eating a Teppan Edo.

You are doing so great Carissa!! I'm still finding it hard to get into a groove. I did Wii once this week... hopefullly I'll get some time in this weekend & keep up the momentum going into next week. I actually think it will be easier with the kids home on school vacation because we'll be at the house more. I find myself running all over, volunteering here & there, working, etc. when the kids are at school.

Your couples weekend plans look great. I was questioning Wishes the night after the half-marathon, but since Wishes is earlier in January you may be OK. It makes me tired just thinking about running that far! :faint: I also read a couple TRs about the half-marathon this year & those people got up REALLY early in the morning before the race. :scared1:

Can't wait to see what ideas you have for a solo trip!

I just found your PTR and wanted to say hi! I started the C25K program too, and I was a complete couch potato. Today I finished w5d2 and it felt AMAZING!!! Sunday I am going to do w5d3--the 20 minute run. I am soooo nervous about it, but I keep telling myself I don't have to run at my "normal" speed (6.0), I can slow down. You are doing a great job! My ultimate goal is to run the half in January as well, and some 5Ks along the way. Maybe I will see you there!!! :goodvibes

That's so exciting that you've gotten to the point of actually SEEING results- that's awesome! :thumbsup2

It's very motivating. :thumbsup2 How did your tests go?

All scales are different and your weight fluctuates so much in a given day. I only weigh myself on the same scale around the same time of day to keep it as accurate as possible.

I think there are different kinds of hurting. The hurting that comes from an injury or something being wrong is the kind of hurting that would make me stop running because I wouldn't want to make things worse. Thankfully, that hasn't happened yet (knock on wood). My "hurting" comes in the form of fatigue. My legs get tired and sore, but I can't say they hurt. That's the type that takes a lot of mental work to keep pushing yourself. Sometimes I can get through it and sometimes I can't.

I do think it's easier for me with the routine we have. I get to sleep in until I want, allow myself to wake up, check online, eat breakfast, and then workout.

It's not the early wake up that bothers me, but the waiting around once you get there. I really hope it's not as cold as this year.

:welcome: Wow! You run very fast for a newbie! You're doing great. :thumbsup2 I'm a little nervous to head into week 5 knowing that a 20 minute run awaits me, but I'm just trying to focus on each run as it comes. Today is my 3rd attempt at week 4 and going to try and do all of the run intervals.

That's so exciting that you've gotten to the point of actually SEEING results- that's awesome! :thumbsup2

Thanks Liesa! It's exciting thinking about what my body might look like by the time Chuck gets home. :goodvibes

~ W4D3 ~

I want to take a moment to thank you all for your wonderful support. Without all of you cheering me on and offering advice I really don't know that I would be where I am right now. The next year is going to be a challenge for me and I am so glad I have you all to keep me motivated. :grouphug:

Today, my friends, I rocked it!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Okay - maybe I didn't rock it as it was tough as heck. But, I completed all of the run intervals! I told myself I could stop after 4 minutes on the last interval, but once you're at 4 minutes, what's another 60 seconds? :confused3

I really try to zone out on those long runs and think about something else. But, I find I have a hard time focusing on anything besides how much I want to stop running. :rolleyes1 I feel like I should come up with a list of topics to cover in my brain and post them on the stair rail. Fantasizing is a good distraction. pirate:

My legs were sore from the side lunges I did yesterday but I got over it after the first few minutes. I prefer side lunges over the regular ones. They don't seem so hard on my knees. Does anyone have knees that make a very odd sound when doing lunges? You know the sound an old piece of elastic makes when you stretch it? Yeah - that's what my knees sound like during lunges. Grosses me out.

Tomorrow is a rest day, but I plan on taking the boys hiking and enjoying the nicer weather we're currently having. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

"Always do what you are afraid to do."

~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

My totals for today:

Speed: 3.5 for warm up, 4.0 for jogs/3.3 - for brisk walks, 3.5 cool down
Duration: 32 minutes
Distance: 1.96 miles

You are doing so, so WELL!!! I'm so proud of you! And I dare say, that you won't be the only one who is excited about what you look like when a certain someone gets home... :rolleyes1

:rotfl: I don't think he'll care what I look like at that point! ;) But, that is part of what motivates me. He is also working on losing weight and building more muscle. I think the day he arrives home is going to be one long day. :rolleyes1

Great job! And you are right about taking it just one day at a time! You'll want to use that technique all through the training:goodvibes

Way to go! I am lucky I have a TV in front of my treadmill. I turn on old episodes of sitcoms or other mindless TV to help get me through running. Anything to keep from looking at the clock every 10 seconds!!! I like the pics you put on yours--great idea!

I figure when I started this program I couldn't imagine running for 5 minutes straight and yet here I am. So, might as well just chill and take it as it comes.

When we first got the treadmill last year and I was walking on it, I had it in a spot where I could watch TV and it was great. Made the time fly by. But, I've moved the TM and it's kind of hard to watch TV right now. Plus, I feel the need to concentrate more when I'm running. At least for now.

You DID rock it!

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

That is just wonderful. Enjoy the weather, it's just been LOVELY here too! We can tell Spring is around the corner, all the allergies are acting up. :lmao:

Ok...off to Pilates! I haven't done a class in 3 years or my DVD in months so this ought to be interesting.

I can't wait to get outside,
have a great off day, and enjoy the hike.
I'm betting you will see how much stronger you are when you hike.

You Go Carissa! You're doing such a great job! Congrats on the weight loss..that's so nice to see, isn't it??

Love the Couples itinerary. I like that you are doing some new restaurants and taking it easy. What a great way to enjoy Disney!

I can't believe Chuck has never done BTMRR or HM! You'll just have to show him what he's missing!

Loved watching Shaun White in the halfpipe.....AMAZING!!!!:cheer2:
