My Little Princess is Turning 8 trip report. Completed

Everything looks great so far. Can't wait to read more! :surfweb:
Hi and welcome! I just was reading some or your pretrip report and wedding plans. Wow your wedding plans sounds absolutely wonderful. I like the idea of the flower girls in Princess costumes, so cute.

So crafty! Love the autograph books, calendar and stroller card!
Have a great day!

Thanks. The kids are crafty, I however am a disaster when it comes to crafts or sewing :scared1:

Very cool. I can't wait to read more.
Welcome and thanks for reading.

Kaylee's Birthday at Disney....Departure day

This was such a busy crazy but rather boring day so I will spare you most details. I let Kaylee stay home from school instead of just picking her early like I originally planned. I spent the day packing and ironing. The kids packed their toys and stuff for the car in their backpacks. The plan was we were not leaving until 3PM, which was later than I wanted but DH( Tom) had to work most of the day. So I booked a Hotel in Valdosta since I thought over 6 hours of driving was enough.

The kids and I took the dogs to my mom's house which is about 20 minutes away. When we got back Tom was already home :confused3 , Well if I knew this I would have planned on driving further and made sure to be all done with packing the car and waiting with the car running :) . Instead we packed the car and got on the road just before 3PM. Of course I forgot to bring the Disney park CD I got for my Birthday  .

It was a pretty uneventful ride and we checked into Country Inn & suites at 9:30. In the morning we got up by 7 and grabbed breakfast and were on our to Disney :yay: !!

Hello everyone :)
I was going to post this before we left but unfortunately I couldn't ;) . Kaylee and Thomas wanted to make their own autograph books for this trip since we have many of the Disney ones. They picked out stuff to decorate them with too.

DisneyMarch2008003.jpg

A month before the trip they also made their very own countdown calender courtesy of some Mickey heads from Home Depot. It's not as good as Diane's (dddisrunner) though.
DisneyMarch2008008.jpg

DH made a stroller card which I got the idea from someone on TGM. He should have put 2008 on it in case we want to use it again on another trip ;)

I should have a real update out Monday morning. Happy Easter everyone!!

You're so funny! Your countdown looks terrific!:thumbsup2 Your kids are too cute:goodvibes Their autograph books are adorable! I have no idea what points even are:confused3 I'm glad to see you back though!;) I can't wait to hear all about it!

Hi,

I love the autograph books I never thought to have the kids make their own very cute idea!

Day 1 will be our arrival day since we did do lots of stuff this day.

We arrived at Pop about 10:30 after a 3 hour ride. I made us all wear matching shirts again. Except Tom, he didn't pack his. Maybe I should do his packing too :lmao: We did have some trouble finind Pop at first. Kaylee loved the lobby, said it reminded her of CR but better. The wait for check in was only 5 minutes. The CM was very nice and friendly too. Our room wasn't ready unfortunately but she gave us our keys and showed us the map where our room would be. We got the 50's section in Building 1 with Lady in front of it on the 4th floor facing the bowling pin pool :cool1: . I did request 50's or 70's 4th floor since I heard it's quieter. Over a busy March weekend I didn't want to be anywhere near the 60's. The CM told me they had 900 families checking in the next day :scared1: . She gave Kaylee a birthday pin and all of us our KTTW cards. We left our luggage in the car and decided to take the bus to Epcot. There were 2 packed buses out front headed for Epcot but one let us :crowded: squeeze on. Some very nice man did offer his seat to Tom and Thomas though.

When we got to Epcot the first thing I noticed was the wand and Mickey hand was gone. Then we went to get the stroller and plan a strategy since it was already 11:00 AM now. I went to get the FP's for Soarin while Tom took the kids to the Seas. He was supposed to wait for me by the Seas with Nemo so we could ride together. So I practically ran to the seas from the Land with the FP's, our return time wasn't until after 2 PM. When I got there they were no where to be found and the stroller was parked. I tried to call his cell but it went to voicemail. I guess they were online for the ride already. I got on the line hoping to catch up but never did and to ride the kiddie nemo ride alone :headache: .

When I got off the ride I still could not find them and eventually found them outside already in the stroller ready to go. I gave Tom a bit of and attitude for not waiting for me. he thought I was trying to save time. Well there was no line for the Nemo ride :scratchin and didn't I give him a itinerary printed out on Index cards with highlights on it. Anyway then we went back into the seas so the kids see the Dolphins and look around for a bit. Kaylee wanted to color one of those kidcot necklaces. Also we took the obligatory Bruce photo again.

It was near noon and we were starving so we decided to eat CS in Mexico. I know why would I eat here after the warning about the annoying birds in Sara's trippie. I was thinking a Magarita might be nice with lunch. When we ot there Thomas of course said no he didn't want Quesdilla's or anything on the menu. So Tom decided after he ate really quick he would take him to the McDonald's stand by Canada. They only had the plain magarita's at the CS so I skipped it and hoped to get one later from the booth, I never did though. We got a nice table over by the water overlooking WS. It was such a nice day out too. the birds weren't too bad today but unfortunately Kaylee had heard me tell Tom about them so she now she had to complain a little.

Tom and I planned to meet up in China in a bit. Kaylee really wanted to get one of those Umbrella's they write your name in Chinese on. When we got there they were sold out :sad2: and not getting anymore in anytime soon. So she decided on a fan instead since Thomas broke the last one she got. Tom and Thomas were in front of China when we came out.

It was starting to get really windy and looked like a storm might roll in. We headed back to FW to check the Test Track line. It said 30 minutes and FP return time would not be until 7 PM. We decided to get on line which turned out to be a bad idea.

We went to the CM in the line and had Thomas measured and he just made it and he was very eccited about riding. We got on line and it seemed to be moving slow. Well after 25 minutes I should have gotten out of line Thomas had fallen asleep while Tom carried him. Also I had never seen smost of the Queue since I'm used to getting right on the ride. Those of you that have waited on this line probably already it's very noisy and gets on your nerves after a bit. Well Kaylee still wanted to ride. Thomas woke up and was very cranky as was I It took 100 minutes until we were in our car. If I had known the real wait time we would have never lined up for it of course.

Anyway I was a bit worried about Thomas riding since he is small and has only ridden kiddie rides. Thomas wanted to ride with his daddy so I told Tom about 20 times to please hold onto him very tight. I let them ride in front so Thomas could see. Kaylee and I rode in back. We did have some single riders in our car too. Thomas loved the ride and laughed the whole time. He loved when the big truck comes out and beeps at you. I did take a redneck ride photo.

DisneyMarch2008022.jpg

After Test Track we went to the Land to ride Soarin since it was getting late now and we had and ADR at HS tonight. We waited about 15 minutes on the FP line for Soarin. this my favorite ride and I couldn't wait to see how Thomas would like it. Kaylee made her Daddy ask the CM if we could wait for Top row. So we waited about 10 minutes extra
Kaylee & Thomas getting ready for Soarin.

Thomas loved this ride too and wanted to ride again. But we would be cutting it close getting to dinner. Also I had hoped we had time to go into Imagination pavillion and ride figment and spend time in Innoventions. We did go into Innoventions to get on line for the free 5x7 you get with the Disney Visa though. The girl and her DH waiting in front of me looked so familiar. Then I realized I reconized her from DIS and had read her Disney wedding trip report. It was Cinderella fan (Angela) and her DH. They seemd very nice and it fun to meet a Disser. I have only met 2 others on all my trips combined.

When it was our turn and we got inot the room Mickey and Pluto were waiting for us. The kids were glad to see some characters. I think this picture is adorable!

After we went to the Camera center and picked up our picture. A CM there gave Kaylee the phone for the Birthday phone call from Goofy.
DisneyMarch2008037-1.jpg

It was 4 Pm now and our ADR was 5PM. So we had to walk quickly to WS and international gateway to get the boat. We certainly were not going to do that walk again. I took a few photos of the Topiaries that were already out for Flower & Garden festival. I would love to go in May sometime.

Kaylee wanted a new Mickey hat for her Birthday. So I let her pick one out. The CM made everyone sing Birthday to her, which was quite funny. kaylee was a little embarassed I think since she can be shy. The CM even gave her a magical moments certificate. We said thanks alot and tried to catch up with Tom and Thomas when my cell phone rang. It was mom of course and (dog) Brandy apparently was sick and vomiting. The luck  I have! She was still drinking water and I told my mom to please only feed her her own food and not anything junky and I would call her in a bit to see how she was.
Then we hopped on the boat to Hollywood Studios. It was a nice relaxing ride and we all enjoyed it so much better than that walk. Of cousre the weather was no where near as hot this trip. It was perfect. I love the Epcot resort area and would love to stay at Beach or Yacht sometime. The kids even enjoyed the ride and you could tell how happy they were to be back at Disney!!

Up Next: Would we arrive for 50's PT on time? Would we get a TV table? Would Kaylee's surprise go as planned?? Would we like our room at Pop?

Thanks Diane for the compliments on the kids. Yours are adorable too. I have to come over and see how your planning is g oing and if you did anymore shopping. You don't want to know what points are :rolleyes1 they not good thing. Sometimes people can be mean on certain heated threads.

Hi,

I love the autograph books I never thought to have the kids make their own very cute idea!

Thanks! I just wanted them to do something different this time. We have 6 different Disney ones already.

I just love all the pictures from you first day! The kids really do look excited to be there - even if it is just a quick trip.

Too bad they were out of the umbrellas for Kaylee. Samantha wants one of those too - that and the animal puppet.

100 MINTUES FOR TEST TRACK!!! Yikes! Usually the wait times are off a bit in the other direction. I would not have been too happy about that either. But, it looks like it was worth it for Thomas to ride - looks like he enjoyed it.

Sorry to hear that Brandy was sick once again while you were in Disney. I hope everything turned out alright.

Hi There,

I'm jumping on board...what a great start to the TR! Your kids are so cute. Also, I'm suprised that EPCOT didn't look that crowded..am I completely off?

Don't worry Brandy is still with us, but the dogs drove my mom nuts. Keep in mind my mom is a bit crazy anyway :lmao:. The trip was wayyy too short for us. We ( Tom and I) did miss the Poly but we were never in our room this trip anyway so it worked out fine. Yes Thomas loved TT though I think all new things scare him a bit. He hasn't stopped talking about Disney, Mickey, TT or Pop since he has been home ;) .

Kaylee was bummed about the Umbrella but did end up buying one in France with her money on our last night. I love those puppets too, so cute.

Hi Katie, how are you? Welcome to my trippie and thanks for reading. Epcot was crowded but it seems to hold crowds much better than the other parks did during this crazy time. It was getting more packed on our check out day. What have you and your DH been up to? I guess your DH hasn't been tricking any Dr's or bosses into thinking he is sick so he can go to Disney :rotfl2: again. I loved your trip reports BTW.

Great update Nichole!:thumbsup2 You guys look so cute in your matching shirts!:thumbsup2 I bet your DH forgot his on purpose right:rolleyes1 spoil sport:rotfl2: :rotfl: Anyway. Kaylee seemed like she handled not getting the umbrella so well:thumbsup2 I know she got the fan instead but my kids probably would have flipped out! Don't you hate it when your DH doesn't follow the PLAN!:sad2::lmao: Glad it all worked out! Can't wait to hear about PTC popcorn::

Yes I get rather  when DH doesn't follow the plan. Actaully I think he packed in like 5 minutes and forgot all about the matching shirts  or so he says. He doesn't care too much what he wears. I guess next time I will make sure to pack some of his things ;) .

Hey Nichole!

I didnt even realize you started this yet! I have been looking & looking for one from this trip and I accidentially found it yesterday. I am all caught up now. Cant wait to hear more about it.

Hi Cathy :goodvibes .
Thanks so much for finding us and for Birthday wishes. Kaylee had a wonderful Bday. When are you supposed to be going to FL and daytripping to DTD?

Hi Nichole,
I just lurked in your last trip report since I was a newbie and hadn't really gotten the hang of the whole posting thing yet, so I'm excited to get in early on this one!
Can't wait to read more. You have such a cute family (and I sympathize with having a "grumpy" DH). :-)

Hi and :welcome: to my trip report. Thanks for posting instead of lurking. Love the photo in your signature, I see your a Disney bride. Yes having a grumpy DH is quite challenging :headache: . I'm trying to convince him to go back to Disney in October and stay at WL ;) .
Subscribing....cannot wait to read more!:surfweb:
