Warning: long and rambling, but it makes me feel better to post ...
There were a couple of times today where I started to fade, but then I was also doing a bunch of stuff too getting ready for the weekend so I guess it is understandable. My Aunt and Uncle called earlier in the week. They are going to be in town for a dog show this weekend. Long story short, I invited them to stay with us for the weekend. I got the house completely picked up and cleaned. DH and DD11 did a lot in the evening. Otherwise, it wouldn't haven't gotten done

. I had to get all of my scrapbook stuff put away that was spread out all over the guest room

. Aunt & Uncle arrived around 10pm last night and we talked for about 1/2hr after they arrived. Needless to say, I was asleep minutes after getting into bed.
My dad has always been very fit (Ran marathons and ultramarathons, still runs +5 miles daily, skis all the expert stuff, works out at the gym, etc). His brother (my uncle) has been very overweight for +40 years. He had gastric bypass surgery a couple of year ago and lost 140 lbs. This is the first time I have seen him since then. He looks like my dad!! He even has some of the same mannerisms that I never noticed before. It is a little disconcerting. It will be fun to catch up with him and my aunt this weekend.
Of course, their visit is on top of an already jam packed weekend. DD12 is participating in a 30 hr Famine with her youth group. It is to raise money and awareness of poverty & hunger. The program is sponsored by World Vision. She ate lunch at school and then started her fast. I took her to Church at 6pm where the youth group will be together for the next 24 hours. They will play a simulation game called "Tribe" (sounds like a lot of fun), have Bible study, do a Community service project (painting out graffiti, I think), and then attend the 5pm church service. They will break their fast at 6pm with communion and then they will have dinner together in the Parish Hall. I am concerned about my rail thin, athletic 12 year old only having juice and water for 30 hours, but after many discussions with the youth minister, I feel comfortable. The kids are told over and over again that if they need to break the fast they can and it is definitely OK. The chaperones will always have something for them.
DH and DD3 have "Dads & Donuts Play Day" at her preschool this morning. It is a time for the dads (or the parent that doesn't usually bring the child to school) to have some time at school. It should be fun.
DD11 has her award ceremony for the reading program at school this afternoon. The whole school has tracked the minutes of reading time for the past 4 months. Those kids that read +2000 minutes get a gold medal today. 555 of the +700 kids did it

. DD11 actually ended up being the top reader in the whole school - 8155 minutes

! There are three ceremonies this afternoon (to accomodate everyone). The woman in charge of the reading program is a good friend (and another DIS'er - Hi, Soccermom-Cheri

). I'll help out with the first ceremony. DH will bring DD11 for the second ceremony. I'll help get the third ceremony started and then leave and go with the rest of the family to join DD12 at church for the 5pm service. And that is just Saturday!
Sunday is Junior Olympics (JO). But first, DD11 and DD12 have preconfirmation class first thing in the morning (and then I think we are skipping church and going out to breakfast

). DD12 does not need to be at the pool until 1:30pm (Her coach knows she is doing the 30hr fast). Her relay race isn't until about 5:30pm. She'll warm up at 1:30 and then again briefly before the race. I'll go with her at 1:30 and then the rest of the family will come around 5pm for the race. We'll go out to dinner when the meet is over.
Somewhere in the weekend, I am also supposed to get the tax stuff together, do laundry, catch up on journals, and pay some bills

Ready or not, I need to be back to 100%.
So that is my weekend. Oh, and DH's birthday is Monday and I haven't even begun to think about what I'm doing for that....
Not a stellar day foodwise. I got too busy and didn't eat my snacks, any fruits & veggies, or drink hardly any water until the evening. DH suggested the rest of the family go out to dinner after we dropped DD12 off at church. I made a decent dinner choice and didn't have a cocktail (I knew I was too tired and still had too much to do for a cocktail to be a good idea.), but I did have way too many chips & Salsa while waiting for the very slow waitress to take our order and then lots more waiting for our dinner to finally arrive.
b- wholewheat toast w/ 1T PB & 1t marmalade, 12 oz skim milk, 1/2 milano cookie (making kids lunches - DD3 ate the other half)
l- 1/2 wholewheat turkey sandwich
s - "shared" 2 milano cookies with DD3 - she took little bites, I took big bites!
d- Islands: too many chips & salsa, 3 Baja chicken soft tacos (2 with tortilla, 1 without), +4 glasses of water!
Totals: ?????
0 f/v
80 oz water
Thanks for letting me spill out my weekend. Somehow it seems more manageable to see it here

.
