My Journal to Me - Comments welcome!

Anna -
I can't believe I haven't checked your journal in so long!!! Sorry about that!!
I'm glad the procedure went well, and that you're able to get some rest! It's nice to have relatives (MIL) that can help out!
Also congrats on the 160!! Just wait til that scale says 159....you're gonna do the   dance...i promise!!!

Hope you get your energy back soon....you do more in one day than most of us do in a week....it's not right for you to be down!!

marie

Wow Anna, the 150's are just about here for you! Breathe out completely before you weigh next time and you should be at 159.8! You will love Pop, its very fun and for a short stay for just you and dh it will be perfect. The cm's do the Hustle in the lobby every day, it cracked me up and took me back! Three weeks to go, you have a lot of great things going on right now to look forward to: 150's and a DCL!

I'm going to have to get some of those almonds! I need to go get some more fiber cakes anyways...

Your trip is so close, I bet you are so excited! You are going to look awesome, have you gotten any new, special (and smaller) outfits to celebrate?

It seems like I take two steps forward and one step back. I did end up doing one round of driving to the pool yesterday. Not usually a big deal. DD3 fell asleep in her carseat and I did a Soduko puzzle:upsidedow . The problem was the temperature dropped from low 70's to low 50's in an hour and I wasn't dressed for it :cold: I always have a blanket to throw over DD3 while she sleeps, but I hadn't thrown my jacket into the car. By the time I got home, I was shivering I was so cold. Ipassed the kids off to DH, had some soup for dinner and crawled into bed. Obviously my body still does not have good coping skills back yet:sad2: .

Today I am wearing a turtleneck, sweater, jeans and my Ugg's. It is supposed to rain later this afternoon. I was supposed to shelve books at the media center this morning, but there was a meeting going on in the media center, so I came home to catch up on some journals instead.:thumbsup2

Julie - welcome back from FL. Thanks for stopping by my journal:)

It's nice to have relatives (MIL) that can help out!
Uhmmmm.... MIL did this only because there was absolutely no one else available. (trying to stay nice ....)

Breathe out completely before you weigh next time and you should be at 159.8!
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I laughed when I read this, and then I went and tried it :rolleyes1 . My scale only reads in .5 lb increments so it didn't work.:rotfl2:

Amy, we posted at the same time.

No, don't get the almonds unless you know they will all get eaten up (by someone else hopefully!) at once. I just finished off the bag this morning (1/2c :sad2: ) they are definitely now in the "problem" category. Oh well!

I haven't really been shopping for clothes. Just moving down the closet:rotfl2: . I don't really want to go shopping yet. As I start deciding what I'm going to pack, I may change my mind. We'll see. :rolleyes1

Hi, Anna! I'm sorry it has been cold and rainy there, but I bet it makes the expectation of sun and fun in Florida that much more enjoyable! Almonds are definitely a red-light food for me, too, so I know just where you are coming from. I can't buy them anymore because I am the only one who eats them.

So, is this weekend Junior Olympics? Is DD excited? Here's some pixiedust: that she has an awesome, positive experience and :goodvibes: that you will be back to feeling 100% well soon!

Can't wait to hear you bragging about being solidly in the 150s!

Hi Anna
I cant believe your going to wdw in 3 weeks - lucky thing!
We are hoping to do 15 nights in wdw property & 5 nights at universal, i think i'm gonna try for CSR but it will depend on price i'm awaiting next years brochure :)
Hope you've warmed up!
Great news that your friend recognised your weight loss, well done you :)
Food looks good - as always :)
Have a great weekend!

I should have read your post before I went to TJ's yesterday! I pondered buying the sesame almonds (they have sesame cashews too!) but then I remembered reading about all of your 1/4 cups and I knew I'd be right there with you so I put them back! I got 6 packs of fiber cakes instead. The cashiers there probably think I have some sick bran fetish, it's usually all I buy!!

You need to get out there and get some new, skinnier clothes! Then you will be financially bound to stay on track!! :goodvibes

I didn't feel like I needed to curl up into a little ball and go to sleep today!  I still didn't do a whole lot, but I made it through the day. I was still dressed and upright at 8pm. DH watched TV together after the kids were in bed. (Ok, it is a little pathetic that this is a big deal, oh well!)

I put my food into Fitday to see how much damage I did with the almonds (a lot - 510 calories & 36g fat!). Other than that, my food was decent. DH grilled carne asada again (before the rain really got going). I had him make me a margarita but only drank maybe a 1/3 of it. It just wasn't going down well. And if I wasn't going to enjoy it, I darn well wasn't going to take the calorie hit:rotfl2:

8a - GoLean Crunch, 12oz skim milk, 1/2c grapefruit
10am - 1/4c Sesame Almonds
10:30a - 1/2c sesame almonds :sad2:
1:45p - 3/4c yogurt, 1/2c pineapple chunks
6:30p - 10 chips w/ guacamole, carne asada: tortilla, 1/2c meat, 1/2c tomato & green onion mix, 1T cheddar, spoon of salsa; 1/3 margarita
Totals: Cal: 1696, Fat: 72g, Carbs: 194g, Fiber: 18g, Protein: 7g

Cam - the weather has been weird, either sunny or pouring rain, nothing in between. I really, really hope it is warm when we are in FL! Yes, this is JO weekend (on top of a whole bunch of other things) DD is excited and surprisingly, not that nervous! Thanks for the :wizard:

Tracey - How wonderful to be able to spend that much time on vacation. It is a real stretch for DH to be away for even just a week. You will have such a great time!

Amy - Wise move putting the almonds back! They really are good, but have definitely moved into the "no control" category for me. Mmmmmm, Cashews would be even worse/better :rotfl2: I need to try on the 12's I have in my closet. I know the 10's don't fit yet. When I am comfortably into 10's I planning on a major shopping spree. Until then, I am planning on just making do with the different sized stuff I have.

Hi Anna, that is so great your friend noticed your weight loss. That is always such a motivational ego booster. It makes all the hard work and sacrifice worth it! I agree with Amy, go out and buy yourself some skinny clothes. 25 pounds is defintiely "new clothes" worthy! I am glad you are feeling a bit better with more energy, it just takes awhile. Have a great weekend!

Good morning Anna,

How exciting that your vacation is so close! We are staying at POP for the first time in September. Please let us know how you like it.:goodvibes Beach Club is my favorite resort on property! :cloud9: Have you been there before? I love the Beach Club! :cloud9: (Did I mention that before? ;) :rotfl: )

I'm glad to hear that you are feeling better and that you have more energy too.

Have a wonderful weekend!:cool1:

THE MARGERITA WASNT GOING DOWN WELL!!! :scared1:
You must be seriously ill girl ;)

Warning: long and rambling, but it makes me feel better to post ...

There were a couple of times today where I started to fade, but then I was also doing a bunch of stuff too getting ready for the weekend so I guess it is understandable. My Aunt and Uncle called earlier in the week. They are going to be in town for a dog show this weekend. Long story short, I invited them to stay with us for the weekend. I got the house completely picked up and cleaned. DH and DD11 did a lot in the evening. Otherwise, it wouldn't haven't gotten done:thumbsup2 . I had to get all of my scrapbook stuff put away that was spread out all over the guest room :rolleyes1 . Aunt & Uncle arrived around 10pm last night and we talked for about 1/2hr after they arrived. Needless to say, I was asleep minutes after getting into bed.

My dad has always been very fit (Ran marathons and ultramarathons, still runs +5 miles daily, skis all the expert stuff, works out at the gym, etc). His brother (my uncle) has been very overweight for +40 years. He had gastric bypass surgery a couple of year ago and lost 140 lbs. This is the first time I have seen him since then. He looks like my dad!! He even has some of the same mannerisms that I never noticed before. It is a little disconcerting. It will be fun to catch up with him and my aunt this weekend.

Of course, their visit is on top of an already jam packed weekend. DD12 is participating in a 30 hr Famine with her youth group. It is to raise money and awareness of poverty & hunger. The program is sponsored by World Vision. She ate lunch at school and then started her fast. I took her to Church at 6pm where the youth group will be together for the next 24 hours. They will play a simulation game called "Tribe" (sounds like a lot of fun), have Bible study, do a Community service project (painting out graffiti, I think), and then attend the 5pm church service. They will break their fast at 6pm with communion and then they will have dinner together in the Parish Hall. I am concerned about my rail thin, athletic 12 year old only having juice and water for 30 hours, but after many discussions with the youth minister, I feel comfortable. The kids are told over and over again that if they need to break the fast they can and it is definitely OK. The chaperones will always have something for them.

DH and DD3 have "Dads & Donuts Play Day" at her preschool this morning. It is a time for the dads (or the parent that doesn't usually bring the child to school) to have some time at school. It should be fun.

DD11 has her award ceremony for the reading program at school this afternoon. The whole school has tracked the minutes of reading time for the past 4 months. Those kids that read +2000 minutes get a gold medal today. 555 of the +700 kids did it:banana: . DD11 actually ended up being the top reader in the whole school - 8155 minutes:cheer2: ! There are three ceremonies this afternoon (to accomodate everyone). The woman in charge of the reading program is a good friend (and another DIS'er - Hi, Soccermom-Cheri :wave2: ). I'll help out with the first ceremony. DH will bring DD11 for the second ceremony. I'll help get the third ceremony started and then leave and go with the rest of the family to join DD12 at church for the 5pm service. And that is just Saturday!

Sunday is Junior Olympics (JO). But first, DD11 and DD12 have preconfirmation class first thing in the morning (and then I think we are skipping church and going out to breakfast :rolleyes1 ). DD12 does not need to be at the pool until 1:30pm (Her coach knows she is doing the 30hr fast). Her relay race isn't until about 5:30pm. She'll warm up at 1:30 and then again briefly before the race. I'll go with her at 1:30 and then the rest of the family will come around 5pm for the race. We'll go out to dinner when the meet is over.

Somewhere in the weekend, I am also supposed to get the tax stuff together, do laundry, catch up on journals, and pay some bills :crazy2: Ready or not, I need to be back to 100%.

So that is my weekend. Oh, and DH's birthday is Monday and I haven't even begun to think about what I'm doing for that....

Not a stellar day foodwise. I got too busy and didn't eat my snacks, any fruits & veggies, or drink hardly any water until the evening. DH suggested the rest of the family go out to dinner after we dropped DD12 off at church. I made a decent dinner choice and didn't have a cocktail (I knew I was too tired and still had too much to do for a cocktail to be a good idea.), but I did have way too many chips & Salsa while waiting for the very slow waitress to take our order and then lots more waiting for our dinner to finally arrive.:sad2:

b- wholewheat toast w/ 1T PB & 1t marmalade, 12 oz skim milk, 1/2 milano cookie (making kids lunches - DD3 ate the other half)
l- 1/2 wholewheat turkey sandwich
s - "shared" 2 milano cookies with DD3 - she took little bites, I took big bites!
d- Islands: too many chips & salsa, 3 Baja chicken soft tacos (2 with tortilla, 1 without), +4 glasses of water!
Totals: ?????
0 f/v
80 oz water

Thanks for letting me spill out my weekend. Somehow it seems more manageable to see it here :confused3 .:goodvibes

Anna

wow anna you make me feel guilty for sitting here having nothing better to do (apart from ironing!!)
Still even though its busy it does sound a fun weekend :)

You will get through this busy weekend, don't worry! Since I didn't see any more almonds, I am guessing they are gone??

I think you should buy one outfit for your cruise. I know if I lost 25lbs I'd definitely be buying some new clothes! Just get one thing, you deserve it!

And what is up with the alcohol abuse? Unless you have a bleeding ulcer or something along that lines, there is just no excuse for that! You'll just have to do better next time... :rotfl:

I agree with Amy.....you deserve a new outfit!!....and a relaxing weekend!!

Happy B-day to DH!!!

Have a great week...try not to do too much!

marie

We all made it through the weekend. Foodwise, my weekend was awful - not a fruit or vegetable to be found anywhere :scared1: - but everything else was ok. Saturday morning DH made the usual - pancakes, then he and DD3 went to preschool and had donuts:rotfl2: ! DD11 finished her Egypt project (mean mommy (me) made her re-do a bunch of stuff. Let's just say, it was not her "best work" and a little more attention to detail was called for.) After DH and DD3 got back, we were sitting down to lunch when I got a panicked phone call from the head of the reading program "only one janitor had showed to do set up, the nursery delivered the wrong plants for decorations, freaking out, would I please bring a diet coke?:rotfl2: " So I headed out early to help set up for the ceremonies that afternoon. As usual, the ceremonies ending up being great! DH, DD11, and DD3 came for the second ceremony. DD11 ending up getting a special medal with her name & total # of minutes engraved on it for being the top reader. That was neat and she really liked it. I left after the third (last) ceremony was underway and met the family on the way to church. DD12 survived her 30 hour fast. She was tired, but felt ok otherwise. While she was having dinner with the youth group, we went out to dinner with my Aunt & Uncle - chinese. About half way through dinner I ran back to church and picked up DD12.

Sunday, DH made pancakes, eggs & bacon again since my aunt & uncle were there. DD11 & 12 went to preconfirmation class & I finally had a chance to sit down and catch up with my relatives which was nice. At noon DD12 had leftover chinese for lunch (bad idea!) and we headed out to the JO meet. By the time we got to the meet, she had a stomach ache. Nerves combined with the greasy chinese food were a bad combination:sad2:  . She made it through her relay and even swam a new best time for herself, but she felt lousy. We were supposed to go out to dinner with MIL & SIL after the meet. I took DD12 & DD3 home instead while DH & DD11 went out. (wasn't real sad about missing out on that one :rotfl2: ). DD12 is feeling better now, but I don't think she will have anything greasy again for awhile.

It is another busy week, but next we have NOTHING planned. I'm looking forward to that already!

Food damage:
Saturday
b - 3 pancakes, 12oz skim millk, 1T maple syrup, 1T blueberry syrup
l - 2 bites BBQ beef
d - bowl sizzling rice soup, appetizers: 1 chicken in foil,1 beef satay, 1 fried shrimp, 2 cheese wontons; entrees: crispy chicken, orange beef, sesame triple delight, pan fried noodles; fortune cookie :sad2:
80 oz water

Sunday
b- 3 pancakes, 2 slices bacon, 1T maple syrup, 1T blueberry syrup
l - leftover chinese :sad2:
s - 1.2oz almond pack
s- granola bar
d - scrambled egg, slice wholewheat toast, 12oz skim milk
74oz water

Tracey - you're right. It was a really busy weekend, but it was all really neat stuff, so it was good.

AmyM - thankfully the sesame almonds are all gone. I have gone back to my safe 1.2oz pacakges :rotfl2: . I promise to do better with the alcohol abuse :rotfl2: I need to work on that or I won't make it through my "drinks of the day" on my cruise:rotfl2: .

Marie - all right, you all have convinced me. I will go out next weekend and see if I can find a size 12 something that fits and looks good for my cruise:thumbsup2 .

Hi Anna
I had Chinese too :(
Glad you got through your busy weekend & enjoyed it :)
Well done to DD for getting her medal, you must be very proud of her :)

Wow that was one busy weekend! You did very well I think given the out of town company and eating out you did. That is great your dd read so much, what a huge accomplishment! That is also awesome you uncle is looking so fit and healthy, he probably added many years to his life. That is not an easy procedure and adjustment to go through. Your trip is really getting close, definitely go out and get a size 12 (ahh, size 12 I remember that very faintly ;) ). You have really earned some shopping rewards! Keep up your hard work!

P.S. That was lucky in a strange way dd had post greasy chinese food problems. Anything that saves you from a mil meal can't be all bad!!;)

It sounds like you had a great weekend, Anna!:goodvibes That is wonderful that your DD was the school's top reader!:cool1:

I hope you have a great week ahead!
