My Journal to Me - Comments welcome!

Thanks everyone for your well wishes and :wizard: . The procedure yesterday went longer than expected, but was successful. :banana: . The IV was no problem and I did not have a bad reaction to the anesthesia, my two biggest fears. I feel fine today (but don't tell anyone!) I've been watching stuff on TiVo and sleeping today. I'm letting my MIL do it all. :) She just took the older girls to swim practice so I can get on the computer now.:rotfl2:

Funny story: I arrived at the surgery center yesterday and started the pre-op stuff. Then they hand me a cup - you have got to be kidding me! - I have had nothing to eat or drink in 12 hours and you seriously think I can give you a tinkle sample?! Just a few drops, they say, otherwise we'll have to do a blood test and that would delay things. After the second attempt, I produced two drops. Yea! Ok, we are ready now "your pregnancy test is negative." WHAT? That's what you needed the sample for? I could have told you the answer to that - DH is fixed people! Sheesh! Ironically, when I woke up in the recovery room, I need to tinkle :rotfl2: . Give me IV fluids for over an hour and what do you expect?!

Yesterday's food: two glasses of milk, 6oz FF vanilla yogurt, 3 bites gingersnap stew, 1 tiny scoop ice cream - do you think dairy is my comfort food? :rotfl2:

Today:
b - 1c GoLean Crunch, 12oz skim milk
l- 1/2 ham sandwich on wholewheat, apple
s- LF LC wedge, 8 pretzels
d - will be meatloaf, a little potato, green beans (MIL is making)
64 oz water (I'm having trouble drinking water today after overloading the last few days)

The kids have Friday and Monday off so except for swim practice for DD#1 (getting ready for JO next week) it should be very low key. Oh, and DD's ate all the donuts and cookies yesterday so I don't have the temptations!:banana:

Anna

Hi Anna,

I'm so glad to hear that the surgery went well!:goodvibes That's funny about the pre-surgery tinkle!:lmao: Now be sure and relax and let your MIL take care of everything else. :cloud9:

Have a great weekend!:cool1:

Hi Anna, glad the procedure went well. Very good job letting mil do the work. What the heck, you deserve a little R & R! Too funny about the pregnancy test. My mom is 71 and they have been known to actually run one before they put her on a certain med or something. Which makes me giggle a bit thinking of my 82 year old stepdad getting my mom in a family way! Sounds like you are doing well and that you will have a few low key days to further recover. And that was very nice of your dd's to eat up the donuts and cookies!

quick update: went down to spend some time with the family and clearly was doing too much. Within an hour I was crampy again and had started to bleed again. drats! Guess that was my body's way of telling me to still take it easy.

Good news is I spent the evening with DH's laptop in bed catching up on journals. I am very sorry to have gotten so woefully behind with everyone's journals. I really appreciate all of the support I get from each and every one of you.:grouphug:

I had forgotten about the pregnancy test part! I absolutely could not even give them one drop, but they said that they'd checked for pregnancy when they did my blood work the week before so I was OK...

Bummer that you had some cramping late in the day, I think you are right, your body must not be ready for normal activities yet. Just tone it down a little and take it easy for a couple more days. It's the one time you'll have an excuse, milk it for all it's worth!

Hi Anna
I'm sooo glad everything went ok for you :hug:
Take it easy & dont try to rush getting better!!

oh & glad you were not pregnant :lmao:

I'm pain free, but exhausted. All I did yesterday was pick up the house a little and make two trips to the pool to drop off and pick up DD from swim practice. When I got home, I was wiped out. Called DH and told him to pick up something for dinner, I didn't care what, and then I went to sleep for an hour. Today I have to do some laundry, but I told DH he is in charge of everything else. (If he did the laundry, it would all shrink to doll size, and probably turned pink too:rotfl2: ) Tomorrow we are supposed to have brunch with his mom and go to her church. That would mean I would be up and about for close to 5 hours. I really don't think I want to do this. Monday the kids have another day off from school, but DH will be back at work. And I really need to be back to my normal self by Tuesday!

b - 1c GoLean Crunch, 12oz skim milk
l - 6 FF fruit yogurt
d- KFC (should have expected that when I said I didn't care what he got!): 4 chicken strips w/ BBQ sauce, 3 Honey BBQ boneless wings, 1/2 bisquit, 12oz skim milk
40 oz water - need to get this back up to a higher number

Anna

Send dh and the girls to church and brunch and stay home by yourself and rest! You need to take care and rest while dh is there to handle things. Tell your mil you started bleeding, I agree with Amy milk it while you can! I am glad you are pain free, you need to stay that way! Take care of you, cause nobody else will since you are a mom! Also, I am laughing about your dh doing laundry, I tried to teach my dh a few times but decided it was too financially risky given his love of hot water!

Hope you took Amy's advice & stayed at home today Anna!
Hope you feel back to normal soon :hug:

My DH is another one banned from laundry duty. I think they do it on purpose...

Hopefully you are getting some much needed rest. I don't remember being worn out like that, but I had to take it easy for 4-5 days from the other procedure I had done, so maybe I was and just don't remember... :confused3

Here is some PD to be back to 100% by Tuesday! :wizard:

My DH is another one banned from laundry duty. I think they do it on purpose...
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I think so too. He was a perfectly capable, fully functional person when I met him, but the whole "how to do laundry" part of his brain seems to have been completely wiped out now :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I did decide to stay home today, and DH agreed it was a good idea. (I think he is ready for me to be back to 100% too. If that means staying home today, so be it.) DD3 stayed home with me too. She is still at the tail end of her cold. There is no sense putting her in Sunday school where she can pick up yet another bug! She is watching Sesame Street and I finished my book.

Yesterday I got all the laundry done, read a book and watched some TV. Very nice and relaxing. DH grilled carne asada for dinner. It was really good, but I just had one. I feel like I need to really watch what I eat when I am not burning any calories. Also I passed on the margaritas:banana: . (The antibiotics are messing with my stomach so am eating mostly bland stuff.) Today I just need to fold the laundry - that is it for my "to do" list for today.:) I'm feeling better, but I haven't really done anything so it is hard to say:confused3

b- 3 pancakes, 2T maple syrup
l- 1/2 ham sandwich on whole wheat, 12oz skim milk
s- 1c yogurt, 1/2 banana, 1/4c sesame almonds (yum!)
d- 1 carne asada burrito (dh grilled!), 4 chips w/ guacamole

Hi Anna,

I'm glad to hear that you stayed home yesterday and took it easy.:goodvibes Your dinner sounds yummy! Any leftovers you can send my way? ;)

I see that your anniversary trip is coming up soon.:woohoo: Will you be doing a pre-trip report? I know you're doing WDW and DCL... How many days will you be gone? What resort are you staying at? How exciting that your trip is so close!:banana:

Hope you have a great week!

That's great that you finally got some down time! Way to go avoiding the margarita, they just go so nicely with carne asada, it's hard to have one without the other!!

Don't worry, you'll be back to your usual hectic schedule in no time!

Anna, good job getting some down time, thats just what you probably needed! And it sounds like dd3 needed some too. Your food looks good so this all shouldn't have any adverse affect on your weight loss efforts. Continue to be on the mend!

Another low key day... 1 activity for the day - took DD12 to swim practice in the POURING rain! JO (Junior Olympics) are this coming up weekend and the coach wanted to the team to practice their relay starts. :confused3 I had also planned on going to the grocery store while she was at practice, but I wimped out because of the rain. Instead, DH picked up Panda Express for dinner - celebrated Chinese New Year a day late :rotfl2: . The rest of my food was ok. I've been drinking +80oz water daily, but missed today). I still get really, really tired easily. I did lay down in the afternoon to rest, but at least I didn't fall asleep today. I'm watching my temperature (98.9 - normal for me is usually 97.5-98.0) to make sure I don't have an infection. Otherwise, I don't know what is making me so tired. :confused3

On the good news front - WI for the past two days - 160.0!! :banana: I'd been bouncing around 162 for the past week or so, so this is a 2lb loss for the week! This week I can be good foodwise and hopefully lose another lb or so. In March there are multiple activities/events every week. My goal then will be to hopefully just maintain! :scared1:

b- missed it - I was asleep
s- blueberry breakfast bar (driving DD to swim practice)
l - 1/2 wholewheat pb&j sandwich, apple, 7 baby carrots, 1/4c sesame almonds, 12oz skim milk
s - 3/4c vanilla yogurt w/ peach, sliced; 1/4c sesame almonds
d- 1c broccoli beef (mostly broccoli), 3 bites orange chicken, 1/3c chow mein, fortune cookie
58oz water

Anna
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Amy - I don't usually get down time, I just wish I had some energy to DO something with my downtime. I've actually lost weight for the week, but that may just be all of my muscles atrophying from lack of use.:rolleyes1
AmyM - margarita definitely does go with carne asada, but I didn't want to chance messing anything up with digestive system.:rotfl2:
Tracy - I am getting excited for our trip. It is less than 4 weeks away now. We will have 3 full days at WDW and then the 4 day wonder cruise. We are staying the first night at Pop Century (we fly in late) and then move to the Beach Club the next morning for our Land & Sea Package.
Yay on the 160!!!!!!!!! :banana: :yay: :cool1: You are so close to the 150's I bet that feels great!!!
You did pretty good at Panda Express, beef broccoli is one of the healthiest entrees (and orange chicken is one of the worst!).
Those sesame almonds sound yummy, did you get them at Trader Joes?
Well done on the 2lb loss :)
Glad your getting plenty of rest now :)
You must let me know what pop is like i think thats where we will end up on our next trip!
You must be really excited about the trip, oh how i wish we could get another DCL trip, but it seems to have gone up so much now & flights are so expensive during school hols... :(
I will re-live it through your trip :) so awaiting a long, detailed trip report on your return :)
I watched LOST and did some paperwork in the morning while DD3 was at preschool and felt pretty good in the afternoon and evening too. Of course, this morning I am exhasuted again.:confused: Bumped into a good friend at school today that I haven't seen in several months. She noticed I've lost weight so that felt good! :banana: The rest of today should be pretty calm. I did all the swim driving yesterday so my other carpool mom will do the driving today. :banana:
Yesterdays food:
b- 1c Golean Crunch w/ 12 oz skim milk, 2/3c grapefruit
s - 1/4c sesame almonds
l - 1/2c vanilla yogurt, 1 banana (sliced), 1/4c sesame almonds
s- 8 mini pretzels, 1LF LC wedge
d- 5 small buckwheat pancakes (they were really small - DD3 ate 4), 2T maple syrup,. 2 slices bacon, 12oz skim milk, 2/3c pineapple chunks
80 oz wter
Today:
b- 1c GoLean Crunch, 12oz skim milk
s- 1/4c sesame almonds
Anna
~~~~~~~~~~~
Amy - Yes, the almonds are from TJ's. They are called Sesame Honey Almonds: 170 Cal, 12g Fat, 13g Carbs, 1g Fiber, 4g Protein. They could easily fall into the "can't have in the house" category, but so far I have been able to mostly behave by taking my 1/4c and LEAVING the kitchen before I eat them. They are a little sweet and and a little bit salty - very tasty!

Tracey - The Pop was the cheapest onsite place for a single night. ($133 vs. $480 at Beach Club :scared1: ), but it should be a fun place for our short time there. We leave three weeks from today!:banana:

Glad the procedure went well & you also got some much deserved Down time!!

Have a great rest of the week!!
