My Journal to Me - Comments welcome!

Hi anna, the recipes sound good, i'm afraid i'm not much of a cook, but you may just inspire me :)
Hope your weekend is less hectic than your week!!!
Tracey

I see that your busy life hasn't changed since I've been away! Congrats on that weightloss!!!! Woohoo!!! Hope you find some time for yourself this weekend.

I meant to tell you that I'm going to start my dining trip report shortly. We really enjoyed Le Cellier from the appetizers right to the dessert. We received a special anniversary card from our waitress too.

Yes, I think you have experienced the evil Costco Cashew Crunch and Coconut Almond Crunch! I was so happy because we went to Costco to get snacks for our trip and they were out of both (yay!!!).

You are doing really good, that squash soup sounds yummy! I have a pumpkin soup recipe I've been holding onto forever and I just need to make it and get it over with!

Keep it up, you will be out of the 160's before you know it! :cheer2:

Hi Anna, hope you had a great weekend! You did awesome on your crazy Thursday, really healthy choices, good for you. I live for weekends too, craziness and all. Keep up your good work, I agree with Amy M., you are well on your way to the 150's!

Sorry for being AWOL. Our cable company was bought out (good thing!), and there was some big transition over the weekend (bad thing!). I had no internet/email Friday night/Saturday and it has been up and down (mostly down!) since then. On top of my being an internet junkie (what was Scott called it, "mouse potato"?) I was also in the middle of edits for the PTA newsletter - really bad timing to have no email. By this afternoon, it seems to have finally gotten better.

I have been eating alright, drinking water most days, but no exercise. It got cold and I am a pansy. I know I need to get over that or I will be in trouble. I can see why I have slipped in Fall's past. I am determined to not let that happen again.

Since Wednesday of last week I had been between 163-164. Of course on Monday for WI I was 165.5!! When I am eating right, how can I gain 2lbs overnight?!!? Still there this morning too! Stupid scale! Stupid TOM too! I know TOM should show up any time (actually overdue from the past few months 24 day cycle) so that may account for it. Why is it when I actually WANT TOM to show up, it's AWOL? I do not want to have to deal with TOM this weekend, but at this rate, I bet I will be. :sad2: And I'll be fat and bloated too.

I'll try and catch up on journals throughout the week. I know I am really behind.

This past weekend was not calm for me. DH wanted to go to the air show. Two older girls had other plans. I offered up DD3 to go with him, but he didn't take me up on the offer? :rotfl2: :confused3 . He was gone all day on Saturday and then had work stuff to do all day on Sunday. He got last weekend for himself because next weekend is going to be all mine - 24 hour Survivor Scrapathon! :teeth: Wonder what those 3am pages are going to look like .... :confused3 :rotfl2:

Marie - I won "last bunco". It was my actually my first "bunco" ever  I'm no longer a bunco virgin. :rotfl2: I have subbed for this bunco group a few times and became a real member in September. It is an interesting group: 3 mother/daughter sets where Daughter is in her 50's and mom is +70! Me and one other lady are the "youngsters" in our 40's. :teeth:

CJK - I am so glad you enjoyed Le Cellier. I can't wait to read your dining report. We are really looking forward to our dinner there too.

AmyM - Yep, I clearly won't be buying that stuff myself from Costco. I could NOT stop eating it, even when I was already full! Dang it was good!

Bummer about the overnight gain! But you know what it's from, so don't worry about it. It'll go away as quickly as it appeared. :wizard:

It's amazing how much we rely on technology these days! I'm glad your internet got fixed.

Hang in there, bundle up and get outside for a walk! You can get through this fall/winter without falling off the exercise wagon. Maybe you could join a gym or buy a treadmill or something if you really can't walk in the cold.

Your scale is lying!! Due to your healthy eating, you know it's not extra weight but water retention from TOM (or TOM's soon arrival)! I know what you mean about the cold weather. I was so used to walking in Disney, and now I'm expected to bundle up when walking??? Madness! :lmao: But, dh got me out last night for a walk and you know, it felt really great. You can do it!!!!!

Glad your internet is back up and running. Talk about withdrawal!!

Welcome back to "The Real World"!! :rotfl2:
Congrats on Bunco!!!
24 hour Survivor Scrapathon....I'm jealous!!!
Heck, I'd be happy with a 2 hour scrapathon!!!

Invest in a treadmill....I'm actually enjoying mine....weird, I know!! It's there for me rain, snow or sleet....unfortunately!! :rolleyes1

Mystery pounds disappeared - back to 163.5 Weds morning - and TOM showed up. I see a correlation. Busy with the usual kid stuff plus trying to get ready for this Scrap Marathon on Saturday. I am looking forward to having lots of time to scrap, but at the same time I have not touched my scrap stuff in more than a year so I am more than a little overwhelmed. I've decided to scrap our DCL cruise from June 2005. Hopefully having a focused project will help.

I finally got a walk in yesterday :cool1: . It was shortened, but at least it was something.

b-1c honeynut cheerios, 1/4c skim milk
l - leftover Chicken Las Vegas w/ noodles, 1c green beans
s - 3 cookies
d - Chicken Pecan LC meal (yuck!), 3 bites DD3's chicken pot pie, 1/2c peas
2 f/v
water - 80 oz

40 minute walk w/ jogger stoller

Amy - I did get out yesterday .. . but it had warmed up again. I know I am a wimp about the cold and need to just get over it. My "cold" wouldn't even register for anyone else (except maybe Jane :teeth: ) and everyone else is working out in way colder weather. I think my blood got thin when I moved to SoCal....

CJK - :rotfl2: ya mean I have to wear a sweatshirt when I walk?! weight was definitely stupid TOM.

Jane - it seems like they are all tough weeks right now. I need to just make the best of it and stay focused. Thanks for the :wizard: .

Marie - The survivor scrapathon should be fun. The LSS does it as a fundraiser for breast cancer. Some of the recent emails I have gotten talk about an awful lot of "rah rah" stuff like 3am karaoke  that are not my thing. I told DH I'm taking his iPod and his Noise Cancelling headphones - "Leave me alone in the cone of silence and just let me scrap!" I'm just looking forward to 24 hours all by myself (with 175 other people I don't know!)

Hang in there, Anna! I hear you about 'mystery weight' and AWOL TOM! What a PITA!!!

Glad you're getting back to exercise. Have a great weekend!

Hi Anna,

Keep on keeping on! :goodvibes TOM can be a real pain especially when it comes to the numbers on the scale. :( That's great that you were able to get some exercise in! :cheer2:

Have a great time at your Scrapping Marathon on Saturday! Sounds like a lot of fun! :thumbsup2

Hi Anna,

Sorry to hear of the pain that you had with the computer!! Not fun!

Congrats on getting out and walking. I don't blame you on not wanting to walk when it's cold. That is no fun!!!

Keep up the good work! You're doing great!

Have a good weekend :)

I knew that scale would go back down! You are so close to the 150's!!!

I am probably more of a cold weather wimp than you. Yesterday the high was 83 and I was perfectly content with my long-sleeve shirt... I know, it's pretty sad!

You are doing great squeezing those walks into your busy schedule, keep it up!

Oh ya, I probably shouldn't tell you this, but at Costco yesterday I saw a lady at the checkout with a box of Moose Munch!!!

So this is a quickie. I am running around frantically getting ready for this scrap marathon this weekend. It is not just getting my scrap stuff together. I also need to get stuff ready for DH to have the kids all weekend - layout soccer stuff for Saturday's game, etc. Yesterday (Thursday) I got 30 minutes of exercise in and I ate pretty well until dinner. I had forgotten to get dinner into the crockpot, so we picked up Taco Bell. :sad2: Today, I have eaten crap (DD11 wanted Coldstone when she got home from 6th grade camp so that was lunch!) and won't get in any exercise and that will pretty much be the story for the weekend too. I am taking Amy's almonds as snack food :teeth: , but I am also taking PB pretzels and chocolate (cause ya can't endurance scrap without chocolate!) I'll try and check in Sunday night when I get back. Until then, everyone have a wonderful weekend!

Anna

Thanks everyone for the kind words and encouragement. The scale was at 163.5 this morning. Hopefully that will help me behave a little this weekend. and it is not too much higher after this weekend is over. Amy, I forgot you are a warm weather person too. Yep, drop below 70 and it's time to pull out the Ugg boots and long sleeves around here! Of course, it was hot enough to turn the A/C on in the car today, go figure! :rotfl2: Moose Munch at Costco!!! Oh NO!

Hey Anna, have fun this weekend! Don't ya just love how you have to attend to all those details so that dh can handle it all while you're gone? I was gone for a couple of days once and other than Dan changing Maria's diaper, the kids were in the same clothes for the whole weekend! Glad the two pounds of TOM's wrath are gone. I agree with Amy, the 150's are sooo close for you! Keep up your good work, and don't apologize for not liking cold weather. Living in So. Cal your body is not used to it. This time of year is hard for activity, maybe a treadmill would help? Have fun this weekend, "see" you next week!

Hi Anna,

I hope you had a fun weekend. Dont' worry about your eating. I am sure that you did fine!!!
Keep up the good work!

Have a great day :)

Warning: Long rambling post... I survived the "Survivor" scrapathon. It was exhausting and fun most of the time. I didn't get as many pages done as I had hoped (never do!), but the event raised over $47k for the Komen Breast Cancer Foundation so that was cool. It was very well run. Food was good mix of junk and healthy stuff bringing out different stuff every 2-3 hours. I did made reasonably healthy choices most of the time - even passed on the 3am hot dogs & popcorn! I did drink a lot of water, but also soda most of the night using the sugar and the caffeine to stay awake. Other than the very loud, live band at the beginning (best I can say is they were very enthusiastic!) the rest of the music was good. There were 5 masseuse available for 15 minute massages from 7pm - 3am. (Heaven! I had 3 at 8:15p, 11p, and 2am!) There were too many rah, rah games though. With all of that, it turns out it wasn't really 24 hours of scrap time. Here's a quick snapshot of the weekend:
9am - event starts at LSS w/ with breakfast, silent auction and purchases (of course!)
11am -finally get to the event site, met the other 5 members of our table/tribe. Had to "decorate" island sign and a couple of paint can swap things (hmmm, ok, I can handle a bit of rah, rah in the beginning...)
12pm - kick off and motivational speakers who were good
1pm - finally started to pull out my scrap stuff and then it was time for lunch
2pm - started my first page, Various games, make & takes, snack/dinner breaks, etc throughout the afternoon and evening that my 3 friends and I participated in or chose to ignore, no big deal.
11pm - last starbucks run. My tablemate brought me a 6 pump mocha. I don't generally drink coffee, so I had no problem staying awake for the rest of the night! :rotfl2:
1:30am - Table mutiny! We decided we had had enough of the rah, rah games and we simply would not particpate in those any more. We were here to scrap. Our island hostess was a little miffed, but she got over it.
2:30am - spontaneous conga line erupts - fun with 175 women, a little punchy from lack of sleep. :dance3:
3am - Kareoke -This was the lowlight of the event for me. A couple of people were pretty good, most were bad, and some were really, really bad. I put on DH's noise-cancelling headphones and turned the iPod ALL the way up.
5am - pickle eating contest - why did I do this???
7am - everyone is packing up (Isn't this supposed to go until 9am??)
7:30am - start of closing speakers - money raised, prizes awarded, etc.
By the time you subtract the lost 5 hours on the front end, 2 hours on the backend, the heavenly massages, eating time, and rah,rah stuff, it was a lot closer to 12-13 hours of real scrap time. It was a good event, but next time I think I'll just write a check to the Komen foundation and go someplace else to scrap for the weekend.

WI Saturday morning was 163.0 and Monday morning was 164.5. I lot of this is water from major weekend salk intake (did I mention the pickle eating contest?), so hopefully it will flush out pretty quickly. Where I am really slipping is exercise. I am really going to have to work hard to make up some time.

Have a great week everyone. I'll catch up on journals in the next couple of days.
Anna
