DH and I are in our mid-twenties and childless. I have been to WDW several times as a child, the last time being when I was 15. DH has never been. We booked a 4 night stay at the POP with dining and 4 day base tickets. Unfortunatly, we were very limited in days, as DH is in grad school. It's either summer, christmas, or "fall break." We chose fall break--Oct 14-18.

Day 1, Friday, Oct 14:

Plane arrives at MCO 9:15 am
ME to POP, check luggage (carry ons only)
AK in the afternoon, until closing (5:00 pm)
ADR at Kona Cafe, 7:40 pm

Day 2, Saturday, Oct 15:

Be on 1st or 2nd bus from POP to MK
MK turnstiles before opening
UOG selective touring plan for major rides, or until we get tired of it
Stay in park or return to hotel for afternoon break (depending on crowds)
ADR CRT 6:10 pm
If we've accomplished enough rides, watch 1st spectro parade @ 9pm
If we haven't, ride more rides during the early parade
Wishes at 10:00 pm
Either leave, or wait for the 11:00 pm spectro parade if needed

Day 3, Sunday, Oct 16:

Arrive at Epcot prior to opening
Follow UOG through future world
Ride Maelstrom in Norway
Sample food & wine booths for lunch while stopping at some of the movies
ADR--Le Cellier 6:10 pm dinner
Illuminations @ 9:00 pm

Day 4, Monday, Oct 17:

Arrive at MGM at opening
Follow UOG in beginning, unless we get a different feel for the park/crowds
ADR @ 50's Prime Time for 4:50 pm
Fantasmic @ 7:30

Day 5, Tuesday, Oct 18:

SLEEP IN!!!
Walk around the resort, or visit another non-park area if we get up early
ME to MCO @ around 12:45 pm
Flight @ 3:45 pm

Sounds like a good plan just two questions

what is UOG???

I didn't realize you could "return" to the same park with a base ticket i just assumed once you left you where done for the day?

Wow--sounds like a great plan. You've really squeezed every minute possible into this trip. I hope you'll sleep on the plane! We used to tour like that pre-DD and when I was in my 20s. Sometimes we needed a vacation to recover from our vacation! :goodvibes

Enjoy--it sounds great.

I don't know if you're into "thrill" rides, but while you're at Epcot, Test Track is a must. It's not too harsh, but LOTS of fun. Get a fastpass if you can.

Also, if you can, you have to try Soarin.

Don't miss the Japanese Pavilion or American Adventure show.

And, if you like margarita's, the Mexico pavilion has a great margarita stand. ;)

My DH and I found that there was so much food at the F and W Fest that we didn't want our dinner ADRs!!!

Just two friendly notes - things I noticed on your first day. :sunny:

Get to Animal Kingdom as early as you can. The afternoon will become hot - you'll need a ride on Kali River Rapids! :umbrella:

Also, you could consider making an earlier ADR for Kona. This way, you could get a little more sleep that night. I've done open to closes on my trips and you do get tired. If Animal Kingdom closes at 5, you could shoot for 6:00 or 6:30. :paw:

Just some thoughts - have a great trip! I'm counting the days too! :hourglass

Thanks for all the help!

Yes, we do tend to be "commando" types that pack in as much as possible. Recently, we took DH's family on a tour of Washington DC (I used to live there), and I swear I just about killed them. It was a "monuments or die in 2 days" sort of affair!

We plan on heading to AK ASAP when we arrive. We plan on dropping our bags, grabbing our resort passes, and jumping on the bus. I think you are right about the Kona ADR, I should try for earlier. GREAT TIP!

While we do intend on "opening to close" in the parks, we are going to take a midafternoon break each day I believe. We may not go back to the room, but at the very least we are going to find a quiet place to sit and relax a bit (I need to work on a list of places to do this, I think UOG has some).

We probably will leave MK in the afternoon, though. In Epcot, we will more than likely use the afternoon to relax, get some food, and see some of the movies. I doubt we will do much serious "theme-parking" after lunch. We won't be shopping in Epcot either.

If all else fails, we will do MK early the 1st day, try for Epcot at a reasonable hour, and go to MGM a little late. The last day is FOR SURE for sleeping in!!

The only thing I would suggest, if you can squeeze it in the budget, is to bump up to a Moderate resort. Since you don't have kids, you may enjoy the peace and quite at a moderate resort.

Having a daughter POP was fine for us, but it was loud. Then again so was she, so no one noticed.

I might think about switching Epcot and MGM days. Sunday is Evening Magic Hour at MGM which means you have from 9am-midnight at MGM. Attractions are much more limited after the park closes to regular guests, but you gain the option of attending either the 7:30pm or 9pm Fantasmic. You can also reasonably take a break in the afternoon and still have your whole night at MGM. Also Epcot has Early Magic Hour on Monday. Yeah, the park can get more crowded because of it. But Epcot is a huge park.....

I am just trying to max out your time in the parks.... :teeth:

No advice to give since we are in a very similar boat-- and just wanted to stop by and say "hi"! :teeth:

DH and I are in mid-twenties and childfree. I'm also in grad school and I've never been to WDW; DH has only been there as a child. We can't wait either! (Oct 16-23)
