My Fourth Solo Trip - Just Believe and Your Dreams Will Come True

Your travel agent should of told you to make ADRs. The restaurants always book up during free dining, but maybe you can call now and hope there's some good stuff available. But no, Disney won't hold tables for walk-ups. .

Well I think some AAA people are better than others and thank you for the great advise! Ill be sure to see what I can find when I call them.

We will be in Disney World Sept 18-23 if anyone knows of any openings for 3! We are staying at Port Orlaens, so I think we may end up with many food court kind of meals.

There's a thread on the restaurant board for Sep cancellations, I suggest looking at that.

Last night I was considering buying another memory card for my camera specifically for food pictures, (I'm big on food porn,) but decided against it. I just don't want to have to switch memory cards every time I'm about to eat something, I think it would be too much of a hassle. Besides one memory card a day will keep everything in chronological order, and make for a better trip report when I return.

Last night I was at an office supply store, and I saw a file folder with seven different pockets. I bought it, and now have all my papers organized into seven different categories.

Pocket one is things I need for that day, I won't use it until my departure day. Pocket two is for all of my confirmation papers for my flights and hotel reservations. Pockets three and four are for all my park touring information, three is for my TGM info, and four is for my general intinerary. Pocket five is for restaurant menus, pocket six is for reciepts. Pocket seven is for misc stuff, and right now all it contains is the Food and Wine Festival brouchure I was sent. I'll probably also keep extra park maps in there.

Before I've always used my PassPorter, but the pockets are never big enough for everything, and eventually start tearing, so I'm very happy with this. Plus it was on sale.

you are so organized!!

I used a 3 ring binder on my previous trips and stuck some pocket dividers in for brochures and stuff. So far this time..I have a hand written journal book, to track my thoughts and conf#s and stuff, but otherwise I'm winging alot. :scared1:

It's so HARD to let go of my compulsive planner persona!!!

I've given up letting go of my OCD planner self. Right now I'm retyping my whole intinerary, that I'm going to print and take with me because I decided I'd like it better formatted a different way.

Have you used a Passporter? I LOVE mine!
I like it a lot too, but the pockets are too small to hold all of my stuff.

I leave in a week from tomorrow! It makes me sad though to think that I'll be back in just two weeks, with no trip booked for next year. I'll probably be anti-DIS for awhile, being all bummed out about not having another trip planned. I know last year after I came home I didn't get on the DIS for almost two months, and I never finished my TR from that trip.

I'm having some trouble booking a flight. I waited, hoping to get a last minute deal, but nothing was offered that I was interested in. I've been offered $79 flights before, but unfortunatly, that didn't get offered. It figures that the one year I wait to book a flight for a deal, I don't get one, and now all the flights are very expensive, except for one that is later in the day, but if I took that flight I would miss my dinner reservation, and I really don't want to do that.

I hate playing the airfare game. I booked too early and the flight decreased $30, but now I have a $60 credit for my next trip. How much are your flights going for?

Do you live in PA and are you going for just 7 days?

Philly to MCO on the 14th has a web special $138 for flight 1239 leaves Philly 8AM arrives MCO 11:20AM w/1 stop.

If you are returning the following Sunday....there are quite a few MCO to Philly fares for $99.

Checkout Southwest.

Why would you wait until the week before to look for airfare? I thought everyone knew that prices are cheaper with an advance fare purchase of at least 14 days. :confused3

I see you started packing back in the beginning of August. At least that one thing you don't have to worry about a week before you leave.

ETA: I don't know how long your trip is for, but if it is for 2 weeks, than the floowing Sunday , the 28th...there are a few $79 fares.

Don't expect to fly under $200 total. If you do, you will be sorely disappointed. If you get something under $200, consider it a deal!

When did I say I live in PA? Philly isn't that close. I know once we got a flight out of Harrisburg, and then had a layover in Philly, maybe I should look into that.

ETA - My trip is less then two weeks.

I would miss that ONE meal to get to disney. You have so many meals booked that it would be worth it. Dinner or Disney??? Seriously? :confused3 If you don't take the flight you might miss ALL the meals you have thought out so much.

I wouldn't cancel the trip because of one meal, but there are lots of little things that are adding up, that are making me consider cancelling my trip.

I've already driven 3.5hrs (to BWI) to get the flight I wanted...I know how aggrievating flying out of non-local airports can be!! The closest to me is Pittsburgh...but I rarely find a good deal out of there and instead drive 3.5 hrs to either Baltimore or Cleveland (I've gotten good deals out of Cleveland, better usually than the other 2 airports) I don't know where you live, but maybe you should think about extending your search to other airports a bit further than you usually fly from:confused3

Good luck!!
Paula

I don't think you will find a flight under $200 - but don't wait any longer. When I lived in NJ I would drive 2 1/2 hours sometimes to get a cheap flight out of Atlantic City, or I have gone to NY to catch a flight.

Why would you cancel? Wouldn't you lose money from a cancellation so close to your date. You are upset about not having another trip planned and your "sad" because you will back in 2 weeks. I never get "sad" before my trip even starts, normally you get there and think "wow, I have all these days before I get home" So why would you cancel a trip?

For future reference, don't book your flight so close to your departure date!

I don't know what the consequences are for cancelling so close to my date, I'll have to check. I do have trip insurance, not sure if that would cover the cancellation fees.

I'll have to think about this a little more before I make my decision. I'm just so stressed right now, with the trip, and work, and money.

Hate to tell you but I really don't think your trip insurance is going to cover your cancellation fee - and I am not even sure you get a refund for paying for trip insurance.

It may cost you more to cancel your trip then it is to go. Isn't your whole trip paid for, except for maybe tips for your meals. What else is there to pay for?
