My first trip to WDW and DH's first time being arrested (Dec 2009)

Wonderful Trip Report! Couldn't stop reading it last night!! I kept telling my husband just one more page and I'll go to bed lol :surfweb:

Thanks for the tips on the pizza place. We are staying at a value resort for the first time in December and we will be "short" 1 counter service meal so I'm thinking we can just order pizza one night..perfect! One pizza will feed my family so it shouldn't be too expensive. Plus, I can get a salad and it shouldn't be so expensive.

You can use 2 CS meals to order a large pizza, instead of individual slices. It comes with 2 drinks and 2 desserts. Best deal at Disney.

Pizza at the resorts is fine but you can order Dominoes or Pizza Hut but both times they had us meet them out front they do not go back and hunt the rooms down. The first time we did it was late when we got to resort and food courts closed and the second time we got back to resort by 11:30 Pm and again food court closed so we ordered a pizza.Since both these places deliver to resorts could just call your favorite and see if they do also:thumbsup2

We woke up early again but neither of us rushed to get into the shower. We laid in bed and watched cartoons of all things. It was nice relaxing like that but I am not a fan of cartoons. I prefer to watch movies.

We had lunch reservations at the Sci-Fi drive in, so we really didn’t feel the need to hurry, we felt like we had done a lot at Hollywood Studios, some things we did twice. At that point it was our least, ok my least favorite park. Rig loved rocknroller coaster and tower of tower, and I loved the Little mermaid show and the muppets 3-D. The great movie ride was nice too Star Tours was fun, but aside from that we didn’t care much about making sure we got to do it all again.

So we spent an hour cuddling…and cartooning!
I was surprised to find myself wishing I were home.

“I’m ready to go home, I miss my own bed and my routine.”

“You’re not having fun anymore?”

“I’m having fun, I’m just tired and ready for the norm again.”

“I give you one week at home Babylee and you’ll be wishing you were back here again.”

Rig is so right, I have that “The grass is always greener” syndrome. Somewhere in the world life is better or more fun or more adventurous than where I am at right now, but once I have the fun and adventure going on I find myself wishing for the calm and serene life that the ranch brings, or the small town life playing out at the diner.

“Suck in all the magic now Babylee, it’s going to be a while before we ever make it back here.”

So with that being said, I got up and showered, it was time to get ready to face another Disney day. As I was getting ready the tiredness wore off and the excitement set in.

It was another beautiful day. The bus wasn’t too crowded. I guess we missed the morning rush. It was still full, but we were able to sit.
I had said I didn’t care about going to Hollywood studios again too much. But that all changed once we got there. You can’t help but feel the energy.

We didn’t have too much longer until our Sci-Fi reservation so we just got a coffee and danish to hold us over.

“where do you want to go first Lee?”

“Star Tours.”

“Lord have mercy on me.” Rig said rolling his eyes, “Here we go again, you’re gonna start with all your star wars quotes, I can’t do it Babylee.”

“No, I will quote Empire Strikes back too.” then I waved my hand in front of his face, “You want to ride Star Tours.”

Rig swatted at my hand like he was swatting away flies, “what the heck is that?” he asked

“I’m using my Jedi mind trick on you.”

“You’re not a Jedi Leela.”

“I could be,” I said as we made our way towards Star Tours, “I’d make a danged good JedI too, I've seen all the movies."

"Well I've seen 'Enter the Dragon' and it didn't make me Bruce Lee."

"Do you know what I would do if I did have Jedi powers?"

“You’d be mind melting everybody.”

“Are you out of your vulking mind Rig?” (I heard that in a movie once and was just waiting for my chance to quote it) “Mind melts are from Star Trek, Duh!”

“Well I am so sorry that I do not live up to your nerd potential.”

“I’m not a nerd.”

Rig laughed, “Most nerds don’t think they’re nerds.”

“I’m not a nerd.” I said again louder and with attitude.

“Babylee, you just tried to Jedi mind trick me, that’s a nerd!”

The wait for Star Tours was little, we were in line for the ship in no time. I tried to quote my favorite lines, but every time I would open my mouth Rig would put his hand over it. I would fight him and try to pull it away. We might have gotten a little out of hand. The couple in front of us turned around and gave us the “look”

“Sorry, Rig said, it’s our first trip to the Degoba System, we’re really excited.”

I broke free from Rigs hand, “Nerd, you’re a nerd too.”

Rig threw his head back and laughed, “No, I’m just quoting a nerd, there’s a difference.”

We board our little ship and they give us the lo down. Rig turned to me, “Babylee, we got in the wrong line, this ship aint going to the Degoba System.”

The ride was fun as always, the star wars one liners were coming to me left and right.

“asteroids don’t concern me admiral, I want that ship! Not excuses!”

“Don’t start Lee!”

“I want them alive, no disintegrations.”

“shut it Leela!”

“you know that ship saved my life a few times, she’s the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy.”

“Leela, enough!”

“this baby’s got a few surprises left in her sweatheart.”

“Now wait, Rig said, are you talking to me about you now, or is that a line?”

“It’s a line, Han says it.”

“You’re nuts, a complete lunatic, think for my sanity you could try and stop?”

“Oh Rig you walked right into this one.” “Try not…Do or do not. There is no try.” ( I love it when a sequence of quotes comes together and Rig unknowingly plays into it)

“Do stop it then.”

I went the rest of the ride without saying any more movie quotes. But I have to say, he doesn’t object when I quote cowboy movies.

“Hey you music lova you’re next!” (can you guess what move that is from?)

Or

“I got two guns, one for each of ya.” (Rig quotes this one when he’s had a few too many)

It’s from one of Rigs favorite movies, not that it helps you at all. But you might have seen it and you might know the line.

So we land safely, and head out front, I have to say I took more notice this time to how much the outside looks like Tattooine. And I think I spelled that wrong which means I’m not a nerd, cause a nerd would know the correct spelling, and if for some reason it is spelled correctly, that is purely a fluke.

Rig stood there shaking his head at me.

“Join me Rig, and I will complete your training, with our combined strength we can end this destructive conflict and bring order to the galaxy.”

“You worry me sometimes, you know that?”

“A Jedi must have the deepest commitment, the most serious mind.”

He turned and walked away from me, he was getting annoyed but gosh dang it I was having fun, I chased after him.

“Rig wait.”

He stopped and turned around holding his arms out like “what?”

Should I say it I thought? Would this be the one that sets him over the edge? Should I take my chances?…of course!

“Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny.”

Rig stared at me his jaw twitching, I’m in for it I thought, I did it, I sent him over the edge, he was full on annoyed, But I was wrong, Rig surprised me and said, “If you only knew the power of the dark side.”

“Nerd,” I yelled, that is so a line from Empires strikes back.”

“I know it is. the student become the teacha.”

“oh you could never school me in star wars lines. I know Yodas speech to Luke Skywalker verbatim.”

“I know you do and please don’t quote it.”

“Have you had enough?”

“I really have, he said, but I love you” he leaned in to give me a kiss and I really wanted to say “I’d just as soon kiss a wookie.” But I really didn’t want to kiss a wookie, ( I was happy to kiss Rig) I just wanted one more movie quote, I didn’t think Rig would take kindly to that so I just let it go.

We had enough time to go see Muppets 3-D before our reservation, so that is exactly what we did. Rig promised to stay awake for this, and he did and later said he wished he didn’t. I still liked it and thought it was super cute.

We checked in a Sci-Fi and was told they were running behind, this was frequent for us, it seemed to happen at most of our reservations, it just gave us time to sit and relax, they don’t give you buzzers there, you have to wait for your name to be called so you can’t stray too far from the front door and all the indoor seating was taken, so we sat outside, and the only thing that bothered me was when people would leave they would stop right in front of me and I would have a butt in my face and worse than that was when they would take a step back, I would have to lean way back for fear of things getting too personal.

Our name was called and we went inside. We followed our hostess to our car.

But let me back up a minute here. When I first stepped into the dining area I was amazed, no amazed isn’t the best word, I was stunned? Astonished? The thesaurus doesn’t really give me the description I am looking for. But this place was the neatest thing, (neat isn’t a good enough word either) People were sitting in old 50’s replica cars and watching a movie reel while they ate.

I giggled and grabbed onto Rigs arm, “This is just like the movie scene in Grease.”

Rig cussed (he's not a cusser by nature)

“Now you’re going to be quoting that crap.”

“No I won’t, I laughed, besides I know more lines from Grease 2 then I do Grease.”

We got the front seat of a teal car.

“Could we have the back seat instead?” Rig asked

The hostess didn’t get that he was joking at first, he winked at her and said, “We don’t plan to watch the movie if you get my drift.”

She starts looking around the place, “Well let me see…”

I had to tell her that he was joking and then I added he’s not very funny.

We took our seats and ordered our drinks. The movie reel was actaully a bunch of previews from old balck and white movies, I don't know if they were real or if Disney made them up, but I had never seen any of them.

You can't help but feel romantic in there, Rig put his arm around me and I leaned up against him, I have never been to a real drive in movie before, and this was the closest I would probably ever get to one. Do they even have them any more? I would look up at Rig and smile and he would either kiss me on my forhead or nose, we kept it G cause there was a couple behind us. According to Rig he would have liked to have given them a real show to watch.
"Hey Lee, what do you think they would do if we just kind of disappeared, ya know like I lay you down on the seat?";)
The visual to me was funny because the seats are so small, I could see us trying to disapear and us ending up on the floor outside of the car.

Our waiter brought us our drinks and then took our order, I ordered the chicken sandwich, Rig got a burger, we both asked for fries.

The food took about 20 minutes to get to us but when it did and I took a bite of the bruchetta chicken sandwich it was so good and worth the wait, which really wasn't too bad of a wait, but when your hungry a minute feels like an hour.
Rigs burger was better than my chicken sandwich, The grass is always greener syndrome works for food too. If only I had ordered the burger.

Lee You are a Jedi...........A JEDI MASTER of trip reports.

or have you mind tricked all of us???? The force is strong with this one!

Way to go! And thank you for reading. So what do you imagine us to look like?
Heck no, thank you for writing this TR! :thumbsup2

Rig = tall, cut muscles n very handsome....kinda like a cross between Ryan Reynolds and Brad Pitt

You = short, petite, freckles on your nose with a natural beauty...kinda like Isla fisher

Trucker = tall, blonde (dirty, greasy) hair, a guy whose beer gut hangs over their pants and they are proud of it and yellow teeth.

HAHAHAHA!

Loving the updates!
I've had dinner and lunch at Sci fi! The atmosphere is so much fun but the food is just eh.
You and Rig are too funny!

YES! There are still drive-ins. We have a couple near us, the one we go to is called Vintage Drive-In. It's fun. We haven't been to Sci-Fi for 4 years but have ADRs for lunch there this time. Maybe I will try that chicken sandwich.

I had to subscribe, I got to page 45 and it is 1:35 in the morning and I have been reading since 9 pm. I am so tired, but I had to read on, now I can't take it anymore, the bed is calling my name, 6 am will be here soon.

Lee, write exactly how you are writing. Don't let the negative remarks discourage you. As long as you know they are true then it does not matter what others are saying. Reading your first chapters on the first time you walked into MK and seeing Cinderella's Castle reminds me of my first time at WDW. DS was 3 yrs old and seeing Disney through his eyes was more magical to me than seeing it from my perspective.

I love how you are writing your TR and your love story is beautiful, it's sad that both of your families are too stupid to realize they are the fools. I have similar experiences with my family, dh on the other hand has a family with angel wings and halos, but they live in Ohio and we are in Georgia. My in laws do more for us than my own family and they live close by. My family only helps us when it is convenient for them and when they can get something out of us. So needless to say, I don't talk to them. All you need is Rig and you make family out of the friends that are there to support you and help you. God bless you and sending lots of happy memories your way.

Tombstone.

Sometime back, I said it once and I'll say it again, "Lee. Stars Wars Geek you are. Yes." :lmao:

Thanks for another update Lee.

Next Friday, DW and I will be headed back to the WDW. We'll try to keep up there. After reading your TR, I'm sure we'll be looking at it in a whole different perspective.

Yeah -- that's kind of going into the unbeliveable realm-- that and no lifeguard! but, still a thoroughly enjoyable, fun read.

Where I come from people swim in there jeans if need be, a lot of cowboys out in the open country would stop and get into a creek or the river if needed to clean off. The clothes would be as dirty as they were so it made sense, I'm pretty sure a lot of this history is still carried over to this day....or as we would say...you make do with what you have. And when we were at POP we saw there were times when there were no lifeguards, even at the Hippy Dippy pool...IN MAY. If there weren't any people there, there weren't any lifeguards there, simple as that. :rolleyes1

Its not unusual for people in the country to swim in the jeans at least from where I'm from in Missouri.

Jill in CO

Yup! She's right. Spent a few summers there in Missouri to know. :thumbsup2

Lee, yes there are drive-in's still around, where I'm from in Kansas there's a big one, it has two screens, a lot of people still go to this day. We had a lot of good memories packing up the car with popcorn and goodies to eat and to drink and getting into our p.j.'s, take our our sleeping bags and headin to the Drive-in! Great reporting Lee. :)

I can't say that this is the best trip report ever because I haven't read them all, but it is the most enjoyable one I've ever read.

P.S. And I believe every word!

I did my best. I'm a Star Wars nerd not a computer nerd.
