Hi
I figured you guys would understand. 106 + and now one lousey sale I got a negative. Auction was for a new pair of water shoes from LANDS END. size 7 toddler. They left me a negative, I mailed it out on 9/20 they got it today. New. I followed everything. They said I was dishonest vague auction (HUH!!)-didn't answer emails & no one should buy from me. The only thing I didn't do is on their paypal email it said please let us know when you mail out with a delivary confirmation # - Well I got the email , packed everything mail it and forgot-I didn't get back to the computer. They received it within 2 days!
Just goes to show you ! I left a reply. The water shoes were new, shipped and received within 2 days!
My auction # was 8132187463 if you want to look except for the fact that my pics aren't there Leave it to SD.
I'm upset and depressed!:(

Don't let it get to you. I've had 3 negs and 1 neutral in the last year. I've also had almost 500 positives in the same year. You just can't make everyone happy. I think out of all of them-- I may of deserved 1.
Just out of curiosity did she ever say exactly why she left the negative in an email to you?? I'd be curious to know.

Personally, I would leave a negative for her along the lines of, "Buyer received item in new condition, but gave seller negative feedback."

When I got my first negative, I thought I would have a stroke! It seemed so unfair that this buyer could basically say anything about the transaction and Ebay wouldn't do anything. Unless of course you want to hire an arbitrator - NOT.
So I was stuck with the negative, but you know what? Other buyers could see by my positive feedback that I was a good seller and could be trusted and I've had many sales since then. And many more positive feedbacks!

No she never emailed me. I would definitely responded with something. I mean I would have taken them back if she was so unhappy with them. I guess I'm going to have to live with my negative. (SIGH) :(

Don't you wish we could have a "Yeah, but...." section? I would love to have a page where you can reply to those negatives and give your side so your buyers can hear both ends of it.

How was my auction misleading? The water shoes were new and shipped immediately!

good for you. looks like all your other feedback is A+ dont let them get to you. They are new and people will take that into consideration. hang in there

My first negative was from a guy that didn't pay or email me and I did a non-payer alert on. He left a negative on me that I didn't wait long enough. Yeah a month wasn't long enough for him. So I did the same for him.

Then I had a lady that claimed I sent her a damaged item but wouldn't send it back so I could refund her. She wanted me to just refund the money without the items back. Strange people on ebay.

Neither of these negs have effected my sales at all. Don't worry about it.

Don't let it get to you, you will NEVER please everyone !!! As a buyer, I would still buy from a 1 neg seller. Its a nature of the beast, give people a lil power and SLAM !!!

I think floridagirrl2 said it perfectly !!

Personally, I would leave a negative for her along the lines of, "Buyer received item in new condition, but gave seller negative feedback."

Actually, you CAN reply to the negative feedback. You can reply to any feedback. Off the top of my head, I don't remember the specific trail to get there, but go to your feedback forum page. Somewhere there is an option to reply to feedback that has been left for you.

As a buyer I overlook 1 negative feedback for every 99 positive feedbacks. Try not to let it bug you.

I would email and ask why the negative feedback.......perhaps she got your auction mixed up with another she bought. Since it sounds like you replied to her neg feedback, don't worry too much about it. I usually only read the feedback if there are more than a few negatives.
I had a buyer write me a really nasty email and then apologize because she got what she bought from me mixed up with something else, it was Christmas and she said she bought a lot of things that week, she did leave positive feedback. It was wrong that they left negative fb without emailing you first, I would never do that.

I can relate!

I got my first negative a month ago. I sold a stroller sit-n-stand attachment. It was brand new in the box, perfect, never even OPENED (I ended up just buying the stroller). She leaves me a negative that it doesn't fit her stroller!! WTH? I didn't MAKE this item, gave all info - model #'s, etc, on the auction so people can look into those things! SO unfair!

But I think ebay is becoming too popular these days. The less savvy people are joining the bandwagon, and it is really hurting auctions. People don't really care anymore!

{{Off my soapbox}}:teeth:

Okay as a buyer, I don't look at the negative from the buyer so much as I look at the response to the negative from the seller. Your response was AWESOME! If someone starts calling someone a liar etc....I avoid them like the plague, but your response was mature and to the point. No need to fret this will not deter people, especially since you can see the ship time from the time the auction ended to the time they left the feedback was two days so everyone will know whoever left the negative is just a plain ole' jerk! Not even enough time to respond to a complaint if they even ever tried to put one through to you.

By all means, LEAVE THEM NEGATIVE FEEDBACK, they had NO RIGHT TO LEAVE IT FOR YOU, so one good turn deserves another!

::yes::

Ok I left a negative feedback for them. I simply stated " Buyer received item in new condition quickly but gave seller negative feedback." I have only left two negative feedbacks both when they never paid weeks later. I feel slightly disappointed. I have been selling actively on ebay the past year to supplement DH pay since I can't work with 4 kids and the youngest having a lot of health issues and I knew I would eventually have to get a negative but still I'm a little peeved.
Thanks for listening . You guys have been awesome though!

I feel your pain. My only two negs (with over 800 pos) were from a single deadbeat bidder that decided not to pay for $80.00 worth of auctions.

I'm glad you were able to leave this person a neg.

Too many sellers find themselves in your situation and have already left a positive as soon as the buyer paid. I know there is much debate over when to leave feedback, but your situation is a great example of why it is so important to wait until buyer receives item and it satisfied with transaction before leaving feedback.

Like the other poster said, you CAN respond to negative feedback to defend yourself. Also, if you wish you could share your side of the story, some eBayers use a portion of their ME PAGE to explain the circumstances behind the negatives, since eBay feedback areas don't leave you enough space to do so. You don't have to go into elaborate detail, but a brief explanation would be fine and you might feel better about receiving undeserved negative feedback.

Negs hurt, but people will be reckless and irresponsible on eBay at others expense. It's one of the hazards of eBay. Experienced buyers understand that you can't please everyone.

Good luck with your auctions,
Tink

Go into feedback forum and you can leave a follow up to her neg. It appears this person is kind of new to ebay and doesn't understand the seriousness of leaving a neg. This was obviously unwarranted. As others have said, your positives FAR outweighs your one negative. I flipped when i got a NEUTRAL one time! She said my shipping was too high for the items, well, thats what they WEIGHED even though they were not expensive. To top it off, i had to pay EXTRA at the post office out of pocket! Some people are just natural complainers and sounds like you got one of them! ONE MORE THING, definitely BLOCK THIS BIDDER from your future auctions. Go into SITE MAP at top of screen and you page down to you see BLOCK BIDDER link. She probably wouldn't bid anyways, but you never know! Good Luck!

debbiemomto4, I think I have purchased from you. :D I personally check the seller's feedback, if you had 1 negative in 106 transactions, I wouldn't consider it a big deal. I would still complete the transaction. I hope that you don't let it bother you.
