My first negative & it was so unfair!

Don't you wish we could have a "Yeah, but...." section? I would love to have a page where you can reply to those negatives and give your side so your buyers can hear both ends of it.

YOU CAN!!!! Go to

http://pages.ebay.com/services/forum/feedback.html

Totally reply, but in a non-angry manner. Don't say "that stupid jerk .... etc" Just say "Item was exactly as described, and and mailed promptly" and even give the DC # if you have it .

Don't let it get you down. I always look at feedback replies and take it into account credible explanations.

Good luck--Sorcha

Auction was for a new pair of water shoes from LANDS END. size 7 toddler.
I don't see where you mention they are TODDLER size 7, just that they are size 7. Maybe the buyer thought they were getting adult size 7. And their is no longer a photo so I can't see, if it is obvious by the photo that they are toddler sized.

I agree with the previous poster about there being no mention of the water shoes being a toddler size. However, maybe the picture made it obvious....I don't know.

I am new at selling on Ebay and I have been so paranoid about getting negative feedback that I actually started having dreams about getting negative feedback. I think I'm hopless!

Hi
It's true I didn't mention they were toddler size 7 but it was in the catagory under baby & toddler shoes-sandals The catergory is always part of even a search also the picture would have definitely shown you that they were little but like I said I'm trying out Sparedollar and my pics disappeared after the end of auction. I wonder if it always does that? I did already leave a reply on her neg to me I don't remember the exact wording but to the point they were new and shipped quickly. auction was clear.
Small world Morganpics!!:D
Thanks all for input!:D

You've definitely given me a pick me up!!:sunny:

My first negative was from a guy that didn't pay or email me and I did a non-payer alert on. He left a negative on me that I didn't wait long enough. Yeah a month wasn't long enough for him. So I did the same for him.

Then I had a lady that claimed I sent her a damaged item but wouldn't send it back so I could refund her. She wanted me to just refund the money without the items back. Strange people on ebay.

Neither of these negs have effected my sales at all. Don't worry about it.

This is how I got my only negative too.

I sold a set of salt and pepper shakers and this person bid & won. They were...oh, maybe $10...

TWO MONTHS go by and after trying and trying to contact her, trying to have Ebay contact her etc. I left her a negative and resold the item (for $25!!). 10 minutes later, she left me negative and basically made up a bunch of stuff about me not checking emails, not trying to work with her etc.

I was pretty freaked out at first, but it hasn't affected my sales at all. :) Don't worry about it. Some people enjoy making other people's day miserable. The person who left you that feedback is probably one of them.

Isn't it amazing that just when you thought your deadbeat had left for Mars, there's nothing like a negative to bring them back to earth, and quick!

I agree with the post that said the response to the negative is as important as the neg itself. I have seen some buyers respond really nasty. ie, "This Buyer Is A Deadbeat Loser..." I would never buy from that guy.
On the other hand I have seen responses like, "offered full refund but buyer refused." Or "Buyer left neg without emailing me first. I didn't know there was a problem." In that case I wouldn't hold the neg against the seller at all.

Yes, I was upset when I got my first negative. I bought some Pottery Barn bed sheets that were suppose to be new. When I received them I knew that they were not, because had purchased some of the same style from the Pottery Barn catalog.

So I left the seller negative feedback. I KNEW he would neg me back, so I almost didn't. He said I just didn't want the sheets and had changed my mind.

It really bothered me at first, but since I have bought and sold things with no problem. I look at the overall rating of the buyer/seller.
