Here it is, the final hours at WDW. We wandered around, picked up a few gifts for friends and dh grabbed a couple of snacks from goofy's
and a s'more bar. I tried the bar because, CHOCOLATE, declared it acceptable but kind of hard.
I didn't care much about grabbing anything in Goofy's (I should have gone back later and that is just occurring to me now) but that was because I had a bucket list dessert waiting. Since I began reading a DIS many years ago, I have always been intrigued by the Ghirardelli Gold Rush, which is a vanilla, chocolate and peanut butter sundae. Friendly's has a similar dish, but I haven't had one in years. I just wanted this over indulgent, super rich dessert. My plans were to have all chocolate cream in place of the vanilla. I was ready. I had even been here days earlier and waited to have this as my final night prize. I waited in a very long line and it was finally my turn, I'm ready podium lady! But, then the violin's began to play and the world turned dark and all the mickeys began to cry. Ghirardelli's no longer serves peanut better and the Gold Rush was taken off the menu "3-4 days ago" according the the dasher of my dreams. If only I had gone the first night!
I ordered a milkshake and got some popcorn for dh and I to share. Of course, I bought the souvenir bucket in which to catch my tears, lol. The milkshake was rich and fine and whatever, It was not any better than any I get home. I should have gone back to Goofy's instead.
And so ends my WDW food. Thanks for chugging long with me and I hope my very unprofessional taste explanations helped someone a bit.
