I just spoke to my Aunt today and she told me a funny story about her home.
Long story ...
A little back ground ... My aunt and uncle are in their 70's and have been married for 56 years. Thye couldn't have kids so they had cats instead. Many yrs ago (about 22)they had an "only child" who died at 19 (or 18?) and they decided it was too hard to just have one baby. They adopted sibblings 20 yrs ago (one is still alive). Over the next 15 yrs or so several strays wondered into their yard. At one point they had 22 cat. All were well cared for (fixed, all shots, and any other medical treatment needed). They build a "play house" for one family of cats that wouldn't come into the house and converted their sunroom into a cat room for another cat family that wouldn't came inside where the other cats were. They have lost many cats in the last 2 years (to old age usually, most live to 17-20). They are down to about 8 if I remember right. 2 of them are very ill, one of which is almost 22.
Well they haven't had a stray move in in many many yrs.
A few days ago they came home and found a B&W cat in the livingroom that they have never seen before. They had to carry the chair outside it was in because it refussed to get out of the chair. They have tried to keep it out but it comes in as soon as they are not looking (pet doors). It doesn't bother the other cats and seems to be use to being indoors. Today they finally gave in and have let it stay inside all day. I have a feeling the new cat will be visiting the vet this week. She plans to put up signs and an add in the paper just in case this baby has lost it's way. Looks like I have a new 4 legged cousin unless someone claims it (they haven't look to see if it is a he or she).
