It's really interesting to see which people are there for you after something bad happens. Your Mom might hold the record for taking a serious situation where your lives were at risk, and managing to make it all about her! Glad to hear that your DMIL is rising to the occasion. One of the good things that can come out of a bad situation like this is that our family members realize that we may not have each other forever, and that petty fights are stupid. Maybe everyone will realize that they've been given a second chance to mend fences...hang in there and take it slow for a while. Glad you got those appointments lined up already. Let us know how everyone checks out at the doctor's offices please!
