My family and I were just in a really bad accident. **Update on p.12

My prayers are with you all. I'm so sorry, but I'm so glad you're all okay. Please don't let yourself think about things you could have done. You saved your families' lives. You're amazing.

It was horrifying just reading about your accident, I can't imagine how shaken up all of you must be. Thank God everyone is okay. I know it will take awhile for you to stop shaking and thinking about what could've happened, but your quick thinking and reflexes saved your family.

Many, many hugs to all of you, especially your daughter. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Thank goodness you are all okay! You all have some wonderful guardian angels looking after you. :grouphug: :grouphug:

:grouphug: I'm so glad you are all ok!! I wouldn't hesitate to pull your dd out of school a few days.

Wow. I'm so glad you and your family are OK, and I hope the truck driver is OK as well.

:grouphug:

Maybe you should look into counseling, to help with your daughter's fear, if it continues.

 again

I'm so glad that you all were not physically injured!!! The emotional injuries will take a while to get over and you will all be sore tomorrow. What a scary thing to have happen.

Oh my gosh, I'm shaking from just reading your story! Thank god you and your family are ok :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: ::

What a traumatic experience! No wonder you and your DD are shaken up! It sounds like your quick thinking, and the grace of God, saved your family. I'm glad that you and you're family are okay. Prayers to your little girl.

Oh my gosh. My prayers are with you and your family. I had a freak accident happen to me a few years back when a tractor trailer made an illegal u turn and blocked my half of a four lane highway just as I came over the hill and hit the side of his trailer head on at about 45 miles an hour at impact. My car was destroyed and the car was flattened at the steering wheel height on the driver's side. I ducked and so was only banged around and had shoulder problems for a long while, but was OK. My seatbelt saved me - luckily my bag didn't inflate or I would have died.

It is terribly traumatic - but you will drive again just as safely and well as you did when you saved your family's lives tonight. God saved you and your family as He saved me. I try every day to be worthy of that - and to give in some small way to others as He gave to me that day....

OMG, your story gave me the chills. I am so thankful you are all ok. This will probably affect your DD for a while, but kids are resilient...wow, it had to be so scary for her (all of you). I would just keep stressing that your car (and seatbelts) did exactly what they were supposed to do and kept you safe. And that she will always be safe.

Good job in getting your family out of the way! I also would like to know what kind of car you were driving. :cool1:

I'm sure it will be hard getting behind the wheel again, but you can do it. Take it easy for now and just relax. You're all okay, and that's what matters.

And thank you for reminding us all why it is so important to wear a seatbelt and properly use car seats for the littlest ones.

Oh my!!! What a scare for you!!! I'm so glad you and your family are alright and I will say many prayers for the other driver.

So thankful that you are all OK. Keep an eye on everyone in the next few days. Sometimes it takes a couple of days before all your aches and pains are obvious. You could have whiplash and headaches.

Keeping you and your family in my thoughts. :grouphug: :grouphug:

:grouphug: to your family & the truck driver's family

P& PD :wizard: for your daughter & the truck driver

TG you are all ok..

I can't thank you all enough for your well wishes and hugs and prayers. The wonderful people here on the DIS never sease to amaze me. What a great thing these boards are!

DH and I are going to get my daughter to see someone. She really is showing signs of panic and trauma. She won't sleep in her bed tonight and she hasn't left my side since the accident. We'll see how she does in the next few days. DH will definately need to go back to theropy. He had gone and was treated for a panic disorder and anxiety after 9/11. He was there and saw the 2nd plane hit. I'm actually really worried about him.

And to answer the posters who wanted to know what kind of car we were driving it was a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I am so grateful it did it's job. It kept us safe.

Wow, I can't even imagine.
I'm glad that you are all okay though.
