Hi everyone! I posted about my weekend project at the Budget Board and kilee said I should come over here and share it. Hope that's okay since I'm a newbie to this board.

I wanted to take some throws to Disney to use for sitting on during parades, Fantasmic, etc. but I didn't want to take any of my nice ones. I was afraid they would get ruined by spills & stains. I bought some plain 50 x 60 fleece throws for $3.00, some iron on appliques, and star sequins. Total cost was about $5.00 for each throw so if these get really grungy, I don't have a lot invested in them. Thanks for letting me share my project and maybe someone will be able to use this idea! :wave2:

Welcome and

WOW!!!! :sunny: Those are beautiful. What a great gift they would make for someone going to the parks, or really into disney like all of us.

Good job!!!

Those are absolutely awesome! I wouldn't have wanted to sit on them at WDW & maybe get them grungy! Cheap or not! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: You do great work! ::yes::

And welcome to the happiest place outside of WDW! :teeth:

Those are great, I don't think I would want to get them dirty either. They would be great for soccer games too!

What are the stars made from? Are they soft like the characters?
They look fantastic!!!

Those are nice!! Where did you get the throws from? Tell us more!! :goodvibes

Thank you all for the very warm welcome and kind words! You have made me feel right at home! :goodvibes I really enjoy crafting but I haven't done a lot lately. There just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to get around to everything I need to do. ;)

Thank you! I got the appliques at Hobby Lobby. The hardest part of the project was deciding what appliques to get. They had so many wonderful Disney ones to choose from....lots of Pooh characters in different poses and pretty colors, princesses, lots of different Mickeys, Minnies, Pluto, etc.

Thanks so much! The stars are actually very thin metallic sequins. They came in a packet of 100 for 50-cents. I had a tube of Liquid Stitch here so that's what I used to adhere the stars to the fleece. There were several different sequin designs...another hard decision to narrow down. I almost chose a pretty snowflake design instead of the stars.

Thanks! I found the throws at Family Dollar for $3 each and they had several other colors than the ones I chose. After I had already bought them, I saw very similar throws at Big Lot's for $2.98. I haven't checked at Dollar General but they might have them, also. :)

I love them and I'm going to try my hand at making some of these for christmas presents. :teeth:
