I've known it was coming for some time, but it is so hard. I know that it will be really bad when DD gets home from school. She knew that it was happening today, but I think it will really hit her when she gets home. Our other dog, Griffin, just keeps walking around the house. I'm sure he is looking for his best buddy, Scout. Thanks for listening.

So sorry to hear about this. I know our pets are a part of our family. My sister lost her pet of 15 years. She went through a greiving process. I told her that was normal and not to feel like something's wrong with her. They are just as much part of the family as everyone else is.

Just this side of heaven is a place
called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet
goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and
play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and
comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those
who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember
them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss
someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and
looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs
carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you
cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses
rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once
more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never
absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
As you know because you responded to my thread earlier in the week I had by best friend Barney put down on Tuesday and let me tell you it hurts so bad I cannot even describe how empty I still feel! I sympathise with you so much and I know that no matter what I or anyone else says you will only feel better in your own time.

Dan:
I just want to thank you very much for the Rainbow Bridge poem. We are going to get a double frame and put the poem on one side and Barney's picture on the other and hang it up so when I am feeling really lonely all I have to do is look at the picture and either smile or cry AGAIN!

I've been through this too many times, too. It is so painful.

God bless you and your little girl. Kids will cry but they get over it quicker than we do! Hang in there....

I'm so sorry for your loss. :( I lost my dear Sammi just one week ago today. I'm still grieving her too. Toby is having a hard time without his best friend too. So sad.

:( So sorry to hear this. The furries sure do work their way into our hearts don't they? Hugs to you and DD . Diamond, Misty, and Logan send sad "AROOOOS" to Griffin.

I'm sorry, I know the grief you are feeling right now.
