So after reading that some were getting March 06 expirations because they were arriving in March, I called for my March trip. I was going to wait until March 1st, but changed when I heard about the expiration. I have two notes:

1. The expiration date is not based on your expected time of arrival. So the fact that they were asking when you are going was only to determine if you might get the card or not. They have extended the expiration date on the cards being issued to cover for the 4-6 week mailing time they are experiencing. When you renew, the renewal will be based off the date you purchased the card - not based on March 06.

2. My email came with my first name "AMY". Duh. N-A-N-C-Y, as I spelled it to the CM. And my last name - which is usually what is wrong because it's odd (Ahlsen) - was correct. Seems to be several email errors being reported.

3. I called around 3pm and the wait time was minimal. Much better than a couple of weeks ago.

4. He asked for my birthday, and it was yesterday! :cake:

5. I warmed up just calling Florida :cold:

OK, so those last two were just to use the new smilies.

Did someone say new smilies???
Happy Birthday! :cake:
:disrocks:
I'm freezing in Connecticut:cold:
Is it time to go to Disney World yet??:hourglass
:love2: Thanks Webmasters. The new smilies have me on :cloud9:

Thanks for the :cake: wishes. I needed the pick me up. Yesterday I had really bad news at work and I'm feeling a little down!

Update:

Emailed DDE for the name change and got a new letter within 20 minutes - and all before 8AM!

Also, I asked the CM I talked to about the restaurants needing to keep the letters. He said that sometimes they are just forgetting to give it back and sometimes they are wrongly requesting to keep it. He said no problem, just call DDE right from there and they will fax another to the resort.

This happened to me too, but twice over since my name and my husband's names were incorrect while our last name was fine. Since it came over as a Word document, I just went into it and changed our names to the right ones.
And the expiration date of the letter was 2 days before we leave WDW, so I also extended that to cover our entire stay.

Think anyone would have a problem with this? :confused3

No, I don't think anyone would have a problem with that...but, your name is on your card. So, you might want to let DDE know that it is wrong, since they will ask for your AP or FL DL when you use it.

Perhaps I will call today. I did spell our names to the CM as she took my order for the card, but somehow "SHERYL" got changed to "PATRICIA" and "MICHAEL" got changed to "RAY." :faint:

 I wonder if they have a bank of pre-written letters and save them by the last name. We do have a common last name.

Also - the credit card wouldn't go through since the billing names wouldn't match if they tried to use my cc # with the name of Patricia!
