My DCL 2005 Digital SB *Last ten posted...ALL DONE!!*

I have Photoshop CS2 which is the latest version but you don't need the latest version. I started on Photoshop 6.0 a few years ago and it has all the stuff you need to scrap. I would take some photoshop tutorials and that will give you a basic understanding of the program. It may frustrate you at the beginning but don't worry, it will get easier, it's just that it's such a HUGE program!

You can also buy some books, but you need the discipline to teach yourself. a good one to start with is Photoshop for Dummies, it explains things rather simply.

You can also do a google search for digital scrapbooking and find several good DSB sites that have tutorials just for the SBing aspect of Photoshop.

If you are looking for Photoshop 6 books, they should be a steal now if you can find them! Go to second hand book stores and you should find them cheap!

Good luck everyone!

Great pages!

Someone else asked, but I will too, how did you get mickey papers, etc on the pages? Did you scan them in? :sunny:

Oh yes, sorry forgot about that one, yes I scanned some Mickey papers in. Sometimes I create my own Mickey papers as well, but so far mostly I have scanned them.

Ten more layouts!

Beautiful layouts.... I love them... I love how you displayed the food photo shots. Very COOL!!

Hope you feel better soon!

Love your layouts! You are so much more disciplined then us with taking pictures. When we got home from our cruise I was disappointed by the lack of pictures.

Did you buy the cruise scrapbook on the boat, or are you planning on having these printed in a book? Didn't you have trouble with a book falling apart or am I thinking of someone else?

I am going to scraplift some ideas and get started on our cruise pictures: thanks for sharing!

Timon - thanks for the reply to my Photoshop question. Yes, I have version 6.0 and I also have the dummies book. I have a general idea how to use it but I would not even know where to start when doing a digital layout!
Do you print your layouts after and put them in a 12 x 12 album? I am thinking of doing this for my in-laws album.
Do you know any great online tutorials which specifically show you how to do a digital layout?
I should tell you that your layouts are lovely and very pleasing to the eye. The colours go well together and they are very interesting to look at. Thanks for sharing...

Awesome!!!! More more more!!!!!! LOL

They are beautiful. One thing, on the 2nd one (St Maarten), you spelled Saint wrong in the journal. I'm looking to get into digital, and may I ask where you got many of your images/backgrounds?

Fran98765,

Thanks for the kind words. Actually, I didn't spell it wrong. The Magic docks on the Dutch side of St. Maarten which in full is spelled Sint Maarten. The French part of St. Maarten is actually Saint Martin.

I know, before I cruised I noticed people spelling it Sint Maarten and I kept thinking they were bad spellers :lmao:

Cass, more awesome work. You are an inspiration!

Pj

very nice cass! you do such beautiful work! very talented!!!!!! :teeth:

Sorry, I forgot to answer your question Fran98765,

Some of my backgrounds are made by me in Photoshop, some are scanned and some are downloaded from various digital SB sites. :3dglasses

Well, thank you for the spelling lesson. :thumbsup2 I had no idea about the differences! Just wanted to let you know before you started printing them off! Thanks for the info on papers as well. :cool1:

I love your layouts! They are wonderful! I wanted to ask, we are going on a cruise next year. Do they allow you to take pics at the shows?

Do they allow you to take pics at the shows?

Absolutely! Just don't use your flash. There are people (rude ones) who don't listen to the rules and take flash photos and video. Flash only works when your subject is about 12 feet or less from you so I don't know why people even bother.

I wouldn't use the flash in case it blinded one of the performers and they got hurt. If you sit up close, say in the first 15 rows and hold your camera real still you can get some decent photos. Mind you, I also took a ton of crap photos (blurry) but that's what a digital camera is for right?? ;)

Cass...

I love how you took pics of all your food. I'm going to have to remember to do that this next time.

Your sunset layout....LOVE it.

Great job. :thumbsup2

yeah yeah love the layouts blah blah..... I'm joking they are great!!! BUt I also want to tell you how great the photo of you and DH/ BF? (sorry can't remember) in the pirates outfits with the wench is all mine caption.... that's just awesome. :teeth: I love having great photos of DH and me but alas like only 3-4 exist for 6 years LOL
