My co-worker is a fountain of misinformation!! 5/14 the day has come page 130

Computer teacher (the one who thinks nuns last name is Christ) had a doozie today ... she has a child in grade 2. So, we're computer teacher, 2nd grade teacher and I are in the office during our mutual break. 2nd grade teacher said "Today, we started our last unit and it's on explorers. I asked the kids to name an explorer and your son said Dora the Explorer." So, I start laughing super hard. Computer teacher says "What's so funny -- she's an explorer". So I said "And what do her discoveries include? A talking backpack and talking map?" and she says "No, she's a real explorer -- that's why the show is called 'Dora the Explorer'". I am thinking "are you nuts!" So, I said "There is no such person" and she continues to argue that Dora is a real explorer!!!! I am like WTH!??! So, after school, we all happened to be in the office and she said "I went on-line to look up "Dora the Explorer" and I couldn't find much. But, there must be a famous Dora the Explorer who this show is based on." Again, I was practically in tears b/c this is the oddest thing I've ever heard!!! And, I can't believe she wasted her time trying to find out if Dora was a famous explorer in the past.

So, she is thinking that Dora must be like "Mulan" which is based on a true story of a female who posed as a male to fight the Huns! She told us that she's going to do further research tonight to prove that Dora was a famous explorer b/c she's heard of her before.

The scariest part of Daxx's stories is that this woman is a teacher! Poor Kids...

..MOOOOOOOOOOOO SSST SSST! I feel better now. LOL

BTW, this has become a normal phrase in my house **shakes head Gotta love 4 year olds.

I have a picture of the Japanese gate at Epcot as my desktop wallpaper. It clearly frames the Epcot ball. So here's how today's conversation goes.

Miss Info - What is that a picture of?

Me - The Japanese gate at Epcot.

Miss Info - When were you in Japan?

Me - I wasn't, see the Epcot ball? It's part of Disney World.

Miss Info - So you haven't been to Japan?

Me - Only in Epcot.

With that I got a weird look and she sat down. I'm assuming that she is thinking about all this, and this topic will be revisited later.

I found out today that she actually has 4 children not just her 2 sons. Her two middle children do not talk to her. I can't imagine why.

yeah, go figure.

I'm stunned that when you told her it was part of WDW, she didn't make some comment about how stupid it is. I wonder what would happen if you told her you're going to Japan and you put that on your computer to "get you in the mood."

Yeah, but tell her you're only going to be in Japan for 3 days! Her head will explode!

Nah, tell her you're in the mood for sushi so you're going to hop over to Japan for dinner.

Nah, tell her you were in Japan over the weekend, and that picture was taken with a super-high-power telephoto lens, and isn't it amazing how nanotechnology has developed.

Apparently there must be some intelligence on her husband's side of the family and with the odds of genitics it worked out 50/50 :rotfl2:

You guys are cracking me up!! Japan for 3 days!! I would never, ever hear the end of it.

When my kids were younger, we were talking about going away for a long weekend for my DD's birthday. We asked her where she'd like to go... NYC... Washington, DC, Boston, etc. My DS said that he wanted to go to Japan for her birthday. So, I explained to him that while we could do that, we would fly there for 24 hours, get off the plane, never leave the airport and get on a plane to bring us home. He'd get to say he was in Japan, he just wouldn't be able to see anything. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I think we spent the weekend in Philadelphia that year.

She's sick again!!! And yes she is mooing and ssst-ing. It's really hard not to laugh.

I really should know better by now not to read the moo sst sst posts out loud in my house. Both the 4 yr old kid and the 32 yr old kid are over here driving me nuts. LOL

So, let me get this straight. If you sneeze once, she wants you to go home so as not to contaminate her. Yet she can sit there mooing and ssting without any consideration for her coworkers health? :upsidedow

My dad's going to Japan on business next week.
