Hi All.
It has been a very nerve-racking day. I waited and waited but did not hear anything until I called my other brother about 6:30 this evening. (My parents are staying with Bryan's sister, Laurie.)
Bryan has meningitis. They do not know if is the bacterial or viral kind yet until they get the results of culturing the spinal fluid. But he is being treated for both at this time. (I don't know if you can treat the viral kind - perhaps jus the syptoms? ) He has improved some today - has been moved to the Intermediate ICU and they are hoping that he will move to a regular room before the night is out because he is stable. He has to get rid of the sore neck and rash. I got a message from my brother, Mike - Bryan's dad - and he said that "Today is better than yesterday. But to say that we are cautiously optimistic may be too 'generous'".

I hope that that is a fatigued father speaking. I mean, how could you NOT be cautiously optimistic??? To be anything else is to think the very worst!!!
I thank you so much for your out pouring of prayers and good wishes for my Dear Nephew. It is overwhelming to me.
Please continue to keep Bryan, his family, and his doctors in your prayers and good thoughts.
I will continue to update you all as soon I know more...
Thank you all again. It means so very much to me...
Beth
