Have a question on MVMCP

This will be the first time we are there for it - Arrive 11/1 depart 11/9

According to Disney Site the party starts Nov 8 (but no specific dates are given) so I assume there will be one on 11/8

The Mousesavers site gives specific dates with the first one being on 11/7 and next one on 11/10

So the good news is that it looks like we will be able to make it this year but my question is..... what time does this event usually start? Able to make my dining reservations for that day this coming week so want to plan the time of our dining to make it to the party in time.

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is a special night of holiday entertainment in the Magic Kingdom that includes: Castle Dream Lights; Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade featuring Santa Claus; special Holiday Wishes - Celebrate the Spirit of the Season Fireworks; Celebrate the Season Castle Stage Show; snow on Main Street, U.S.A.; complimentary hot cocoa and cookies. Your ticket to the party allows you to enter the Magic Kingdom as early as 4:00pm. The party runs from 7 p.m. to midnight; Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade is at 8:15 and 10:30 p.m.; Holiday Wishes fireworks is at 9:30 p.m.

Alot of the time if you just type your question into google, you can get some great responses.

If you are planning on making an ADR that day, it is my opinion that you are better served making it for lunch or breakfast.

Actually we planned on eating Tonys Town Square that night (we always eat there on our last full night every trip) so if the party is going to be on the 8th that will work out perfect

MK is closing at 7pm on November 7th so I think the 1st party will be that evening. We are also going for that week and right now are planning to attend that party. :santa:

Enjoy the early party date! Last year they had run out of the special party merchandise -- pins, tee shirts, etc -- by early-December when we went to MVMCP. I was so disappointed. How can the planners not know how much to buy with a set number of parties and decades of party attendance history?

Where did you find the MK hours for Nov 7 ?

The WDW website had the park hours posted yesterday through November 7th but Robo had also posted a link in a thread I started yesterday for all of November. Not sure where he got that calendar. I think if you search my name you can find the thread I started yesterday (there were two I think but only one has the link posted).

Thats weird...the only ones I saw on the WDW website were through Oct 31

I did find the link Robo posted.... it is at http://media.disneywebcontent.com/StaticFiles/ParkHours/WDWTravelAgent_November.pdf

Still wondering when tickets will be going on sale for this. I spoke to a CM last night that told me to check back in September. ??? Really?

I think you must be reading the info for 2013.

November 8th is a Saturday and they don't have parties on Saturdays.

That's why I think that's the 2013 info.

ETA-

Here is a cut & paste of the info from the Disney site:

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party
Magic Kingdom® Park
Walt Disney World® Resort

Winter Special Event

Select Nights
November 08, 2013 - December 19, 2014

Now THAT is a mixed message, if I ever saw one.

Once again, going to the "official" WDW site is an exercise in futility.

Agreed!

It's your party ticket and money, but the party offers extremely short wait times and special events (fireworks, parade, photo opportunities) and many do not believe it is the best use of time, for an event you are spending extra money on to be sitting down in a restaurant you can eat at any other time.

This link will have alot of other information:

OP,
I agree with LSUFan. You're going to pay all that money to go to the party and spend some of that valuable time at a sit down dinner. I would make your dinner for 4:30 (5 PM at the latest) and that way you can be where you want to be when the party starts.

I understand what you're saying but we plan on eating dinner at 5 PM the party does not start till seven so will already be in the park and done eating before the party starts

Okay. Good. I saw someone once who didn't seem to understand and was insistent on eating at Cali Grill on her party night at 6:30! :confused3
