MVMCP or not??

MVMCP is DEFINITELY worth it! At least once! Though, I would go again!

The parade alone is worth it. So you aren't disappointed, don't expect to get onto many rides, etc. because it will be crowded. Just go to experience the Christmas stuff and you will not be disappointed.

My one complaint is I wasn't impressed with the hot chocolate and cookies they offered - but that's minor compared to everything else that's offered.

I took my 7 year old last Nov and she loved it. We did not do many character meets but we rode a ton of rides and the lines were very short.

We love MVMCP and any time we will be there during this time we would not miss it. The shows are not to be missed, the parade is very good. We dont do many rides we just try to get in as many of the shows as we can. Yes the crowds are crazy but snow on mainstreet and enjoying the holiday fun is wonderful.

For a group of college kids who just want a first visit to MK for the rides/attractions and whose money is very limited, would you suggest 1-Day tickets to MK or MVMCP tickets? They'll be there in December, but not during Xmas week.

You get more time if you buy a 1 day. If rides is priority, the crowds may be a lot less during a party. Hubby and I basically walked on to all the rides when we went last year. MK is pretty awesome during the parties in my opinion! :)

I agree that everyone should go at least once. With that said, I have been to 4 MVMCPs since 2004. One was PACKED (early December) and miserably crowded. One had almost no crowds and the other two were so-so. I now aim for every 2-3 years. The hot cocoa is straight out of "just add hot water" mix and to me is NOTHING special at all and the cookies are pre-made, boxed variety. Not bad, but not "Boardwalk quality." For what Disney (now) charges for this event and for what perks they have taken away, I had hoped for better quality in what remained.....

I want to respond to your statement that your hubby has a bad back. I do too, so although I can walk around, standing kills me. I walk the parks whenever I am there, but when I go to a party I rent a scooter. It is great for waiting for the parades, great for waiting in line for characters, great for rests while your daughter goes to the dance parties for kids. It is great to let her sit for a bit or for you to sit for a bit at times. I don't use it to go on rides. I park it with the strollers and walk onto the rides. But boy it is a life saver - and if you are going to spend the money on a party why not spend a bit more and make sure your hubby is not in pain and can enjoy it! Oh and PS. The party is definitely worth it. I go every year! Usually with my little grand-daughter... who turned cartwheels all over the park last year while I followed in the scooter!

Honestly, I thought the party wasn't worth the money. Too crowded, not fun, and we're not particularly into characters. And yet, I still think you should try it once.

If you don't, all the gorgeous advertising will drive you nuts your entire vacation. You'll always wonder, unless you go check it out!

We did it, and now I can just smile at the pretty ads and say, "Nope! Not for me!"

This is so true!!! When we were there I kinda felt like I was missing something because MK closes early for the parties. It does make you want to go. Hence our last-minute decision to go. So glad we did because this time it is a must!!!

We loved the MVMCP when we went last year on DEC. 18. My 5 children and parents had a blast. We saw all of the special characters. Got in line for the dwarves at 6:30 and saw them by 7:15. Made it to Jasmine and Genie just in time for the character change and was able to get pictures with Jasmine, Aladdin, Abu and Genie together. Watched Christmas Wishes in new fantasyland...great view. Then watched the second parade on Main Street, didn't even have to get a spot early and sat on the curb. Everyone should go at least once. We were tempted to go back again on the same trip.

Awesome! Thanks for the update! Glad you made a choice -- and I think it's a good one. Have so much fun!!!!
