My fam and I have an ADR for 12/1 at Tony's at 5:45 and that is the night we have our tix for the MVMCP. Everything that I read has said that you should eat early and possibly just do a counter service. Does anyone think that we should cancel our ADR and just do a counter service?
If we do that, then we have to come up with another table service for a different night, say when we are in DHS. Of course, nothing is open that day...:confused3

OK, for your 5:45 ADR you are in the park, you'll be able to get your wristband before you sit down, and the MVMCP festivities don't begin until 7pm. As long as you sit and eat and don't have a super-leisurely meal I think you will be just fine! The first scheduled event doesn't happen until 7:30.

My party has an ADR at the Contemporary at 5pm the night we have MVMCP tickets. I'm not concerned. You're already in the park, so I'm thinking you'll be fine. I'm curious to hear what other people say though!

I'd go counter service and maybe try Beaches and Cream or ESPN Club (just a boat ride away from DHS).

This will be our first Disney trip (so obviously our first MVMCP too) so I am far from an expert. But our family has a 5:55 ADR at the Plaza on MVMCP night on December 6th. I'm honestly not concerned about it. I think the counter service places are going to be super busy, and this is our last night in the World. I'm looking forward to a sit down meal to kick off the festivities.

Looking forward to hearing what others have to say though . :surfweb:

we are doing cindys royal table at 520 on the 1st, I don't know if its a good idea or not, hope it works out good.

So far, most of the advice has been to cancel the ADR and just stick with counter service since there will be so many other things going on. We might cancel and then the next night just swing over to Beaches and Cream while we are spending the afternoon at DHS.

Personally I wouldn't worry about it. Since you are eating in the park you are already there, that cuts down on travel time. As PP said, don't linger eating and all should be good.
We have 6:05 ressies at Crystal Palace the night of our MVMCP and I am not concerned the least. We will show up a bit early and hope to be seated on time, if not no biggie. We will eat, enjoy a bit of characters (if they are close enough) and move on to the events and rides.

Keep your ADR

I'm confused why you think you shjould not do a sit down meal? Is it the 7:00 start time? We're eating at Kona at the Poly that night before the party - if I'm 15 minutes late - will we get slapped or something? :confused3 Or is it just because you want to be ready to go at 7:00? If thats the case you should still have plenty of time. ;)

Keep your reservation. You will already be in the park and have your wristband. Nothing special happens until 7:00. And generally dinner at Tony's will take under an hour, so you will be out when the festivities start.

I would keep the ressie. We are eating at Liberty Tree at 5:30 on our party night and am sure we'll have plenty of time to see and do everything. Like others have said, you will already be in the park which will be a time saver. I wouldn't eat at Beaches & Cream because you don't know how crowded it will be and you may have to wait. Then you don't know how long the bus will take to transport you to MK. Just my opinion.
