We did our first party last year in December, it was awesome even in a rainy downpour.
One thing that I noticed, we tried to go from the Twas the night before to Belle's story...it was impossible, Belle's area fills up quickly.
I have 2 DD, ages 4 and 5 and they love Belle, we missed it.
THis year we are going Dec. 16, our first night in magic, we will split our party to make sure we have seating with Belle.

Of course the parade and snow on Main Street took the cake, but the special character greetings and parties were just so magical. My DD was only 2 at the time and we had to pull her out of the dance party with Cinderella's stepmother and stepsisters crying - she did not want to leave at all. We'll be back on Dec. 9th, cannot wait!
