MVMCP a tip or two

Question, If I have tickets for MVMCP for dec. 5th, can I use those tickets to get into MK around 430pm? And not use my park hopper pass?

Thanks to Beca and Mousegirl, I changed my reservations at Tony's for lunch instead of dinner. That way, we will have all the time for the MVMCP! :santa:

On another note, will someone post a schedule of events as soon as it is available! I'd love to see it to see all that goes on. I'm afraid I will be totally overwhelmed, and I'd like to see the schedule on a non-Disneyoverloaded brain!:scared:

Great! I'm glad you won't use up your party time and you still get to eat where you wanted to. :thumbsup2

I'm glad to know all of this info. I was a little confused how they were going to handle that. I've seen a few threads where people have watched parades on the front lines without braclets. I've read all you have to do is inform a CM of this and they will ask them to leave. I would hate to do that but I don't want someone being there that didn't pay a ticket. Just wish there was a simple way to make it where it is only ticket holders who are in the park during the party. Thanks for the info.

They start to announce that the park is closing around 6:00p. Those without tickets/wristbands are to leave by 7:00p. No it is not like EMH as EMH is free, the parties aren't.

They will have CMs all over the park directing those without tickets/wristbands to the exits. They will also have CMs at the entrances to each land (like a human rope) not letting those wtihout wristbands in. They will also have CMs at the restrooms not letting those wtihout wristbands in. They will also not let those without wristbands shop, enter rides, enter shows, get hot choc/cookies etc...

So you should not be able to see the show at 7:00p if you did not buy the $50+ ticket to the party.

However, in the past they have shown "Twas the Night before Christmas" show on Saturdays for everyone to enjoy. Not sure when they'll start doing this this year or even if they will do it again this year. But if they are, this could be an option for you.

Here are my tips:

- See the 2nd parade
- Get a spot for holiday wishes at least 30-45 min early
- Don't spend too much time on rides that you can do anytime. Get your value's worth by doing the things you can only do at the party like the special shows.
- You can get apple slices and I think apple juice when you get your cookies/cocoa.
- It's easy to loose track of time so set your watch alarm or cell alarm.
-Take a few minutes to stay on mainstreet and just watch the snowfall. It's magical.
- See the first showing of twas the night before christmas as the later ones are harder to get into.

Ok, here is my question. We have 5:15 ressies at Whispering Canyon the night of the party. Do you think that is a bad idea?

Last time we were at WDW, we were on DDP (two courses: entree and dessert). Most of our TS meals averaged about two hours- and that doesn't include time to get there or time to go somewhere else after. It includes arrival time (about fifteen minutes prior to ADR) through paying the check (always a two part process with DDP).

I do not suggest doing a TS dinner that evening. A long, late, TS lunch that day would be perfect. Tehone day we had a big lunch this past trip, we didn't need much for dinner.

Our best CP, we had to wait for DH who was at a convention, so we couldn't really arrive at party until 5pm. The rest of us had a big snack at 4pm, we snuck in for cookies just when they started serving them (no line) and ate a QS dinner fairly late. We managed to hit a number of rides before the party started, a few more during the party - and still hit nearly everything in the party. We tucked dinner in between show times. The only thing we missed was the photo with Santa they offered that year, which understood was all the way over by the entrance and had a long line.

Good tips!

I just have a comment on the bolded line. I only get there 15 minutes before and still get a spot right in front of the castle but we just stand there, along with everyone else. Now if there was a show I wanted to see right afterwards at the castle front, I may get there a little earlier but even at 15 minutes before, I still can see the show because many of the people who were watching the fireworks leave for other things.

Just wanted to share a different plan of attack. :)

Ok so I am completely overwhelmed trying to plan our trip so any advice would be greatly appreciated! I just can't believe how much planning is needed and I thought I had a good plan until I started reading on here. We are arriving in Orlando early Sunday morning, Dec 7th. SInce we can't get into our rooms until later we were planning on going to MK and eating at Crystal Palace at 2:10 - then thought we would go to our room and rest for a while and we have tickets for MVMCP that night. Where can I see a list of shows, parades, fireworks, etc? Is my plan too much for this day? It will be me, hubby, mom in a scooter and a 5 and 7 year old who handle staying up late very well. Any advice for what order to try to do the party things in? If we miss the castle lighting at 5:45 is this something we could see the other day we are at MK? We are also staying at the GF -so i wonder how well you can see the castle light up from there? I have been to DIsney several times but not since 1996 and no on else in our party has ever been there.

Thanks so much!
Kori

That is true. I'm sure you can get a good spot about 15 to 20 min. early, but for those going on weekends or popular nights, I would still recommend a bit earlier.

we are going this year too, i was wondering, as the park closes and the day people have to leave, if you are already there and have a mvmcp ticket is this a good chance to ride the rides as the day people leave and the MVMCP guests are yet to arrive???

Yes. That time between 4:00p - 7:00p is a great time to ride rides. But even during the party the lines are usually minimal (as long as it isn't a sold out night) because most people are trying to do all the Christmas festivities rather than the rides.

They don't start making the day guests leave until 7pm....so it would seem that between 4pm when they let the MVMCP guests in and 7pm when the day guests leave would be the most crowded part of the day wouldn't it? Since both groups would be there?
